1001 Albums Summary

At first I thought this was just kind of a generic 60's album, but apparently it was a huge predecessor to the jangly guitar stuff. Definitely an eye opening historical record, but I'm not sure how I personally like it. It's at the very least, ok. Listening a second time, I could tell a little easier it's influence and sound.

ITS SIX HOURS LONG???? They remind me of zz top Ok so they are a jam band. Nothing against that. Not my style though.

This is jazz alright

Problem is, I'm just not into it Groovin is an ok single and title track Funny to listen to an album in mono

They sound really loose, like they're enjoying it I know many jazz performances of this time were pretty heavily rehearsed-- I wonder how much they enjoyed this?

This album is what got me to become a music person.

The opening track makes her sound like AM I really liked it!

I didn't realize they were a blues/country fusion. And British? Huh. I mean I like it

I've always been mixed on lead singers voice. The amount of reverb over it has also never made listening any easier. While I'm going over complaints, I also know how the bands female member was treated. Makes liking this kinda hard.

Abba is one of my least favorite popular artists to hear. I usually don't like it when it's played at public gatherings or whatnot. This will be an interesting listen I'm almost angry how catchy this is

I feel like steely Dan is the nerdy side of the coin to whatever genre they share with the cool guys over at zz top. That's not an indictment it's just the feeling I've got.

I already know this artist and album! It's okay at best. Thundercat is a great bassist who intentionally holds himself back with some weird ideas in this album. Some songs are minute long non-sequitors; with the album printed on multiple small discs. I like his later stuff more.

This is the kind of country I grew up on

My ex used to love this album. It will be hard to see it with fresh eyes. Hand in my pocket is always a bop Forgiven and you learn are solid songs

Has some understated and pleasant guitar work, with catchy chorus. Really like rudderless

Each song is short and fun enough. Once you learn how much elvis stole from black musicians, it's hard to unhear. Nothing here is too interesting.

He's got a good voice, but a filter on it makes him constantly seem far away. Down tempo makes every song sleepy and kinda dull. Less that it's bad, more that I'm not too into it.
