1001 Albums Summary

Very cool to start the journey with an album that dropped on Jan 1, 2000. Beautiful instrumentals from start to finish. Never heard of this album or band but we’re off to a solid start. Wouldn’t listen for the singing performance however. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

I wish I was more in the mood to listen to Opera Rock when I got this album but I’m not all the way mad at it. I’d be interested in revisiting this in the future.

Will give this another listen later but some really cool moments on this one and some others that were dragging. Favorite song by far was There , There.

Delight sounds and soul beyond comprehension. Some timeless classics mixed with some snazzy breakdowns. There’s almost always an appropriate time to play this album.

I’m a sucker for some 60’s Pysch but that last song almost convinced me to never listen to this shit again. Which is a shame cause there’s some rockin songs on here.

Wow that intro and outro. So sonically different yet cohesively open/close this album. Everything in between to me was sort of a blur but not exactly in a bad way. Would love to revisit.

So incalculably influential that I might’ve in head my gave this listen maybe too high of an expectation. A delight to listen to sonically but the lyrics and flow of the album track to track could leave more to be desired. The guitar on this album rips and it’s so much fun to listen for all samples artists have utilized for decades. Summer Breeze gets a huge shout out for being incredible!

What Kanye and J Dilla did on this album needs to be studied in textbooks.

My first time hearing her work and I’m blown away. Had a great time listening and hopefully more of her work made the list.

George is the fucking man. Thats it. This album has been a huge inspiration for my guitar playing journey.

I fucking love everything about this. Elite instrumentation and fun vocals accompanying the lyricism.

Underneath this mess , is something kind of mediocre.

Years ago this album started my obsession with the Floyd. Still hits just as hard now as it did then. Life changing record right here and will be talked about for generations to come.
