Not bad at all, just not my jam. I would not come back to any songs on this album, but can appreciate the blues/r&b vibes. Also having never listened to Fiona Apple, this sounds EXACTLY like what I imagined it to sound like

3.5, rounding up to a 4. Can definitely see how this influenced future acts. Some great some, but mostly pretty meandering, with some songs to discordant and lofi for my taste

I like Talking Heads (and David Byrne) in theory more than I like most of the music, especially this album. Just gets a little avante garde

There are so many great songs on here and also so many stinkers. Really interesting seeing all of the Beach Boys, Black Sabbath, and Stones parallels though. Did not need to be a double album lol

Holy shit how do people listen to a whole album of this? One song is like "hell yeah" but then it just keeps coming. So discordant and angry and unrelenting

A lot of the same. I know some Offspring songs and obviously they are super influential, but this just doesn't do it for me. Dude's voice is rough too

He needed somebody to rein him in. Levon and Tiny Dancer are masterpieces, then he just goes for excess and misses the plot. Annoying singing (bad, similar runs) with weird orchestra and choirs

I had a fine time. Cross between the Eagles, Beejees, Cat Stevens, Jackson Brown, etc

It isn't my favorite REM, but I love his voice so much. You can see how they influenced Nirvana and Counting Crows though
