LCD Soundsystem · 1 likes
3/5
Enjoyable, but not all the time. Some songs didn't hit and others were great.
I've listened to some very limited LCD Soundsystem over the years so this was interesting to explore it a bit more. Will try out some of their other stuff.

Not bad, but I think I would have preferred a less modern Morrissey album. Please and thank you.
The first song about how America isn't the main character is still very timely though. Probably moreso now than in 2004.

The perfect album to send me to start this off. I really needed this today. Been feeling very low. Realizing my hope/belief that he was unhappy is just not true. That he doesn't regret leaving, doesn't miss me, and just went back to her as if it was nothing. Despite all that she did before and how little everyone around him likes her. That I wasn't good enough.
I wish this wasn't as hard as it is. That I was stronger.
But music makes it better. And Bowie is perfect. This is such a fucking great album.
Rush
3/5
Not bad, but not my favourite.
Leonard Cohen
2/5
Not as bad as I expected. I just don't like his spoken word gravel voice. The music behind it wasn't too bad though.
This was a one-time listen. Can't get through a second. Mostly tuned it out.
Moby
3/5
Good, but I expected it to be better? I had some higher expectations and the album wandered a bit more from the hits that I remember. Might listen again.
T. Rex
3/5
Pretty good. I recognized some songs. Not my fave ever, but I see the appeal.
Buzzcocks
3/5
Only got through a few songs. Not due to lack of enjoyment, but lack of time.
Neil Young & Crazy Horse
4/5
Very much exactly what I would expect from a Neil Young album and yet I feel like I've never actually heard any of these songs.
Sugar
3/5
This reminds me of Collective Soul. Enjoyable, but not something I'd listen to all the time.
LCD Soundsystem
3/5
Enjoyable, but not all the time. Some songs didn't hit and others were great.

Beatles
4/5
Better than expected. My lack of fondness for the early Beatles shouldn't be a reason to listen to their other stuff. This album is strong and had some stuff I hadn't really heard before. Will listen again.
Miles Davis
4/5
This was nice background listening. Jazz I will actually listen to. Felt more productive with it.
The Strokes
2/5
Blech. Boring.
Guns N' Roses
4/5
Classic nostalgia. Still holds up.
David Bowie
4/5
I love Bowie, although, this one isn't my favourite of his. But that's not suggesting that it's bad at all.
Nina Simone
3/5
Slower than expected. Incredible voice.
The Libertines
3/5
Better than expected. Still in the genre of early 2000's basic indie rock, but much less bland than the Strokes and other crap.
George Jones
2/5
Old country. For old men.
Tracy Chapman
4/5
Just as good as I remember. I should listen to this one more.
The Temptations
3/5
A double double day! Have listened to both albums today already. And yes, Papa Was a Rolling Stone is still a banger.
The Rolling Stones
4/5
Good stuff. Classic. Listened to it twice through.
Chicago
2/5
What's with all the jazzy classics the past 2 days? I enjoyed yesterday's offering, but this did not compare. Some parts were OK, but mostly a bit too experimental for me.
Morrissey
3/5
Not bad, but I think I would have preferred a less modern Morrissey album. Please and thank you.
The first song about how America isn't the main character is still very timely though. Probably moreso now than in 2004.

Fucking maudlin over-fluted droning.
The Psychedelic Furs

Neil Young

The Everly Brothers

Slow and sleepy. Also a wee bit creepy. Why did they seem to think love was so dark and life/death?

Kind of soothing prog rock. Have never heard of them before.
Television

Vocalist sounds too much like the guy from The Strokes for my liking, but the music was not bad. Very 70's jam-rock.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs

I never liked them before, but this wasn't as bad as expected. Some not bad stuff on here beyond their radio hits.
