Jan 22 2026

I have listened to this a few times now in my life, and just recently saw GZA. I think the legacy and influence this album has cannot be denied, but it just has never done it for me like other 90's rap albums have like projects by A Tribe Called Quest or De La Soul. I guess this speaks to my desire to have jazzier beats with more samples, as opposed to the rough and stripped down production style Wu-Tang uses.

21 by Adele
Jan 23 2026

I will be honest I didn't listen to it, which I know defeats the purpose of this project, but I know it well enough, and know the vibe and the singles and have spent time loving Adele, but yesterday I just didn't want to listen to a full album of piano ballads... Still 4 stars for longevity sake.

Hybrid Theory by Linkin Park
Jan 26 2026

I appreciated the history of this album for a while, but had never sat down to listen. It still holds it's power for sure!

Iron Maiden by Iron Maiden
Jan 27 2026

I enjoyed it for sure, classic metal album that I know was super influential.

The Queen Is Dead by The Smiths
Jan 28 2026

I can hear the influences the Smiths had on so many bands I love the more I listen to this record.

Siembra by Willie Colón & Rubén Blades
Feb 04 2026

I had never heard this album! I liked it, clearly a very influential album!

Arise by Sepultura
Feb 05 2026

I had never heard this album! Pretty solid, classic metal!

A Short Album About Love by The Divine Comedy
Feb 06 2026

I was hoping it was going to be a little more... emo? I had never heard of this album and it seemed like something that a lot of what I like to listen to would be based off but it was a little too grandiose in a way... But still good!

Heroes by David Bowie
Feb 09 2026

Not my favorite Bowie, but pretty good.

Ten by Pearl Jam
Feb 10 2026

Honestly, the memes about Eddie Vedder are funny, but grunge is such an underrated genre of music and this album for sure is the foundation for everything that sounds like it. So many singles on this album I forgot about.

The Boatman's Call by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
Feb 11 2026

I have always liked Nick Cave, but I have never listened to this album. It was good, but I think my nostalgia for some of this other stuff kept me from really loving this one.

Either Or by Elliott Smith
Feb 12 2026

Ultimate emo grandpa, love it.

Phaedra by Tangerine Dream
Feb 13 2026

Interesting, and I can definitely see the influences this album had!

Blue Lines by Massive Attack
Feb 17 2026

Really liked this, I forgot that they started trip hop!

Amnesiac by Radiohead
Feb 18 2026

Truly, I have never gotten into Radiohead and this was not in my top three of what I have listened to by them.

Africa Brasil by Jorge Ben Jor
Feb 19 2026

Loved it, and loved hearing something that was clearly so influential on the world and something I have never heard before!

Aladdin Sane by David Bowie
Feb 20 2026

Another solid Bowie album. I really don't know his discography that well well so being forced to listen to two of his albums in the past few weeks has been nice.

Tommy by The Who
Feb 24 2026

Another one I didn't feel like I needed to listen to because it was such a part of my adolescence. Unbelievable album.

Illmatic by Nas
Feb 25 2026

It felt good to go back and relisten to this classic. The foundation of so much rap that I love.

Trafalgar by Bee Gees
Feb 26 2026

I know this type of rock was influential, but I prefer what is out now than this to be honest.

Let's Get It On by Marvin Gaye
Feb 27 2026

I really didn't grow up on Gaye like I should have, so any excuse to take a break from my modern listening to go back to him is welcomed.

Mar 02 2026

Easily one of the best albums of all time, album of my adolescence and album of the 2000's maybe. I didn't relisten like I should have, but I will. I just want to have the right setting. Maybe the next time I take a drive up to Santa Fe by myself I'll throw it on.

Raising Hell by Run-D.M.C.
Mar 03 2026

I have tried multiple times to get into Run-D.M.C. and still haven't been successful, but you cannot deny their legacy.

Hounds Of Love by Kate Bush
Mar 04 2026

I don't think you can call it a come back.. but the ability to have a song go so viral years after it's release cannot be understated. I enjoyed the listen to this album, but it remains not really my thing........

Leftism by Leftfield
Mar 06 2026

I had never heard of Leftfield, great electronic album! I can't believe it is from the 90's tbh.

Home Is Where The Music Is by Hugh Masekela
Mar 09 2026

Glad to listen to more by Masekela, I loved that Earl sample and I have been searching for more Hugh Masekela since.

Led Zeppelin IV by Led Zeppelin
Mar 10 2026

One of my favorite albums of all time. Hands down.

The Grand Tour by George Jones
Mar 11 2026

Honestly, this was not really my thing, but historically I can see the value!

I Should Coco by Supergrass
Mar 17 2026

Honestly, some great brit rock.

Dust by Screaming Trees
Mar 18 2026

Never heard of this band! Really liked it!

Car Wheels On A Gravel Road by Lucinda Williams
Mar 19 2026

I think I have this on vinyal, might have to go pop it on, this was a solid americana album.

Rock 'N Soul by Solomon Burke
Mar 26 2026

The foundation of rock n' roll is what this sounded like to me!

Disraeli Gears by Cream
Mar 30 2026

A good solid classic rock album.

Natty Dread by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Mar 31 2026

I don't care how cheesy the hippies and pot heads make Bob Marley, he truly is a goat.

Groovin' by The Young Rascals
Apr 08 2026

Fairly decent...
