Very happy and dancing album. Most songs are about love or whatever, its fine, not my mood generally. One way or another is a banger.
Not my mood again, Patti's voice is cool i guess. Very long songs (Birdland is 9+ minutes), i don't really listen to the lyrics, music is kinda boring and repetitive, a lot of choruses. Sometimes sounds like VU, but not the kind i like. Didn't listen attentively, not for me.
I like every musician on this band except for the vocalist. First half of the album is fine, but gets repetitive quiet fast (Porcelain and further). Last song (Road Trippin') is fine, Around the World is fine, title song not so much. Generally, a very overplayed album. Still worth a listen, i guess.
Pretty short album, its fine, but nothing catchy really.
pretty short album again, guess its fine, added one song
Was happy to see Massive Attack album, but it didn't capture me at all. Guess i only like Mezzanine from them
hippie classic i guess, not really my mood again
Some concert live recordd jazz, its fine
no just no, i can't listen to that lmao. that's like a bad version of the Fall
almost as hard to listen as PiL, Several Sins is fine
not my music, cant really get into him, maybe couple of songs, not on this album though
funny version of In the Pines, but yeah, 50's are not for me
i can't listen to rap really, that one is at least old school, a bit better, than new stuff
not really my stuff, too happy? dont really like the vocals, music is forgetable. Really heavy Nirvana influence, but in the wrong way for my taste
love the raw sound, guess i listened to newer stuff, no memorable songs sadly, but pretty good impression of the album
nice, listened some Can, but never him. Sounds fun, too bad its not an album really, just an EP
its fine jazz, but nothing memorable, pretty eleveatory to me
pretty fun, take on me is a classic
I mean she has a nice voice, but nothing memorable. Also, I'm not really into British/Irish politics or whatever
some songs are bangers (Them Bones, Would?) some are too long to my taste (Rooster, Sickman, most of the middle of the album)
I mean, I was hoping to hear something like Aphex Twin or whatever, but thats just plain boring, maybe that was good for its time, or for the genre, but I can't really listen to that now
vocals kinda annoying, music is not really my style i guess, I've listened some of their songs in the past and never liked them so yeah
this is basically why i came here, pretty fun listen, can't say it is very memorable, but interesting at least and i didn't regret the time spent
smooth operator is a classic, rest are not really memorable, but okay i guess
kinda like them, but expected more i guess? Killing in the name and wake up are very fun
One of my favourite bands, starts with a soothing and slow (at first!) Dirty Boots, the song that is basically everything you will see from Sonic Youth, slow meloides, fast and raw chorus, some random sounding solo. Album goes almost in a cycle short song - long song, with Mary-Christ/Kool thing breaking it.
I love both Kim's and Thurston's vocals, they both fit in the music, but with kinda different angles. But Lee Ranaldo's songs (Mote here) are unexpectedly cool, and I guess he's my favorite songwriter/vocalist of them all (Pipeline/Killtime from Sister is one of my favorites).
I tried to dig into the lyrics on this re-listen, I mean, they are fun (like on are my friend goo) sometimes political (Kool thing), but very abstract anyway, so if you like stories or deep meanings or whatever, that woudn't be for you I guess.
To me this album is everything i like abouth Sonic Youth and sometimes in music in general: pleasant sounding voices, but not a focus of songs overall; fun pacing (solo's, bridges, other parts, dynamics); fun harmonies (uncoventional tuning here, that makes it more fun).
Whole album (and maybe the band) is a fun dream, that you wanna experience again, and again
Songs on this album are very different, i mostly like energetic/angry ones (Kamikaze/This Love especially), didn't dig Thom Yorke featurings. Discovered her kinda late, but been liking her music lately, cool unique voice, nice melodies
I mean, guess its good for its time or genre, but as some reviewers said here, that's exactly what i don't like about rock music - arena rock, hair-rock, anthems and stuff like that. Some Kiss songs, more metal like Pantera or at least fun lyrics, like Alice Cooper (he is not that arena/anthemy tho), but this is definitely not my jam. Music is very authentic to the genre and the 80s, reminds me of 80s movie songs, like You Are The Best Around, maybe a bit of Kansas (i like Kansas more tho).
pretty cool album, like first two songs, rest are not as memorable, but i probably need to listen to the lyrics, guess they are supposed to be funny?
okay, so this band i know of because of annual TIL Reddit posts how they've sponsored Lithuania's olympic basketball team lol. The vocals are very pleasant, general vibe reminds me of Lou Reed a bit. Whole album is very chill, some hippie melodies, last one is straight rock'n'roll. Nothing memorable, but an alright listen
I dunno, if you like Killers/Muse/Imagine Dragons or that kinda stuff its fine I guess, but its very boring sounding to me. Lyrics are kinda political/satirical? I can't really say. Songs feel very long and not goind anywhere really, vocals are okay I guess. I just cant find the appeal, but can't say I hate it or anything, just wouldn't listen voluntarily or recommend to anyone
A fine listen, nothing memorable to me really. Vocals are very pleasant, melodies are fine, but something is missing for me
very nice listen. raw sound, pleasant vocals. good mix of songs, some raw/angry, cool melodic ones (Sacred Attention, maybe a bit shoegazy even), some quiet too (Think). If you like Sonic Youth and such, that'll be a great find
fine album, nothing really memorable to me (Band on the run and Jet are good, but not adding them to my playlists), but if you like more melodic (eerie, fairytale-y) Beatles songs, you would like this.
a lot of rocn'n'roll influences, fun vocals if you are into that kinda stuff. Hair metal before hair metal. Some guitar parts and vocal mannerisms remind me of Led Zeppelin (i like them more), but overall it's not my music, dont know what is wrong exactly, but songs seem boring and not fun to listen too, everything sounds samey
its a fine listen, won't say it impressed me or i am adding anything of this in my playlists, but i respect Kraftwerk as artists who paved way to a lot of Krautrock bands, who in their turn made a lot of cool music and influenced a lot of cool bands
nice listen, Personal Jesus and Enjoy the Silence are obvious higlights. For some reason i feel very nostalgic listening to them, I guess they were played quite a lot in the 90's when i was growing up. Their music is both energetic and mesmerizing, it reminds me of Joy Division, but less nervous and depressive, still there are some anxiety vibes. Both vocals and music are unique sounding, it is very impresive, that they sound very modern still, more than 30 years after release.
not a fun of Radiohead, guess it's a fine listen, but I just can't force myself to like any of it
nice listen, but songs listen samey to me
i guess, if i would enjoy listening rap, i would listen this or similar, but i just can't, really not my genre
Politics aside (I am not an american), that sounds just boring, like a bad version of Limp Bizkit or whatever
kinda generic, nothing memorable, but fine to listen I guess, maybe i would like it more if i found it in my teens or something
