Best smashing pumpkings album.
Best songs:
1. Today
2. Spaceboy
3. Mayonaise
Beautifull album, some filler imo, but has some great highs.
1. Cecilia
2. The only living boy in New York
3. Bridge over troubled water
Great, heavy album, sometimes a bit too heavy and monotone for me.
1. Rape me
2. Heart-Shaped Box
3. Marigold (not on original album, but good enough)
Not one of the best Queen records, got some real highs like Killer Queen, but overall a pretty forgetable Queen record which doesn't mean its bad.
1. Killer Queen
2. Brighton Rock
3. In the laps of the gods
One of THE essential brit pop albums. Beautifull album with a lot of hidden gems and amazing hits.
1. Common people
2. Something changed
3. Disco 2000
Amazing artrock swansong from this legendary artist. Some songs are sometimes to experimental/jazzy for me, but overall a really interesting experience.
1. Lazarus
2. Star
3. 'Tis a pity she was a whore
Beautifull record capturing a lot of great qualities of the early beach boys. Maybe not their best, but has a nice collection of songs.
1. Help me Rhonda
2. Do you wanna dance
3. Dance, dance, dance
Interesting post 1967 album by the beach boys, definetly not their best but has some fun songs. Disney girls is a real personal favorite.
1. Disney Girls (1957)
2. Long Promised Road
3. Don't Go Near the Water
Amazing album start to finish, unique indie-britpop style. Always great to return to this one after not listening to it for a while.
1. I wanna be adored
2. She bangs the drums
3. This is the one
Interesting album, don't like everything on it but it has a certain vibe to it that makes it in a way an enjoyable listen. Too long for its good but some good electronic music. Not many songs I would listen on a random day tho.
1. Move any mountian
2. Possible Worlds: Deep PSI
3. Make It Mine
My second listen, and I appreciate it more and more, the first halve was amazing funky music with some beautifull ballads. The second halve starts dragging on tho, it should have been cut a bit shorter.
1. Under the bridge
2. I could have lied
3. Funky monks
Interesting indie album, very melodic, but the voice and melodies don't always hit for me. Some great songs and great concept behind the album.
1. Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels)
2. Rebellion (Lies)
3. Neighborhoood #2 (Laika)
Amazing look into samba/bossa nova music. Tiro Ao Alvaro is espicially great. The rest is a bit more mehh for me, but I did enjoy it.
1. Tiro Ao Alvaro
2. Se Eu Quiser Falar Com Deus
3. Rebento
Interesting, but not 100% my style, I'm more like melodic samples etc... This got a lot of scratches etc... I did find songs worth revisiting.
1. Don't believe the hype
2. She watched channel zero?!
3. Black steel in the hour of chaos
Difficult to rate, I think on revisiting I will enjoy it more, it still sounds a bit too poppy (idk why) to me. I do not get why some of the songs are so popular in comparison to others, interesting album.
1. Infinity
2. Stars
3. Crystalized
Heavey psychedelic album, I appreciate it but after a while you've heard it all, and those long songs can get repititive. It's not bad at all, but I don't know not in the mood for it.
1. When you love
2. Happy Trails
3. Who do you love - Pt1
Beautifull classics. A bit too long which makes it have filler. But really enjoyed it.
1. Someday (You'll want me to want you)
2. No letter today
3. Bye Bye Love
Interseting listen, but sometimes to experimental for me. Did like some songs, Psycho Killer is a lovely classic. Should definitely relisten to it.
1. Psycho Killer
2. Uh-Oh, Love Comes to Town
3. Pulled Up
An album that definitely grows on you. Still not fully convinced by it, it's sad that you can't always hear the lyrics, interesting music, to be revisited.
1. when you sleep
2. sometimes
3. soon
Wasn't to sure at first about a country album from 1959, but I did enjoy it some fun songs I really loved. Some different country styles. Good.
1. The Master's Call
2. They're Hanging Me Tonight
3. Utah Carol
Very proggy, but too much for my taste at many times, sometimes I'm listening to some nice build-up to a melody and it gets interrupted. It has some standouts but aaah the proggy-ness of it all sometimes makes me like it less.
1. Long Distance Runaround
2. Mood for a day
3. Roundabout
Great album, great guitarwork by the legend, sometimes I miss a bit of simple softer melodies on some songs. Overall fantastic.
1. Little Wing
2. Castles Made of Sand
3. Bold as Love
Very Bluesy album, some songs I like, some I don't. Not their best album, but an interesting listen.
1. Blue Sunday
2. Pace Frog
3. Waiting for the Sun
Iconic album, and I prefer a lot of the smaller songs to the hits, the hits are great ofcourse but there are some other gems on here.
1. Human Nature
2. The girl is mine
3. The Lady in my Life
Amazing debut record. Really love Babe I'm gonna leave you. Could be a bit more interesting at times in some songs for me, but overall its a great experience to listen too. Heavy.
1. Babe I'm Gonna Leave You
2. Good Times Bad Times
3. Your Time Is Gonna Come
An enjoyable listen through different soundscapes. This Brian Eno is a bit more conventional with more common song structure with singing etc... Great listen.
1. Needles In The Camel's Eye
2. Cindy Tells Me
3. Here Come The Warm Jets
Early verves still, some great music and tunes, some thick guitars driving songs forward, but they still lack that "it" factor they'll get with urban hymns. Nice listen, but yeah, they can do better than this.
1. On Your Own
2. History
3. This Is Music
Pleasently surprised by this one. It's not just metal, its mixed with heavy rock, stadium rock etc... Metal is not always my thing, but loved listening to this one.
1. Breaking the law
2. United
3. Living after midnight
A pleasant listen to some original simple folk music. Liked some songs and instrumental tracks, but sometimes it lacks something more.
1. Needle of death
2. Angie
3. Dreams of love
First time listen, loved it, one of the best punk records I've ever head. Loved the mix of different style from funk to reggae into punk. Truly an amazing record.
1. I against I
2. Re-Ignition
3. Sacred Love
Pff, not my cup of tea, it's just so experimental that it loses itself from deliviring nice songs to listen too in some cases. It's very theatrical with different voices and instruments carrying the album. I did enjoy some parts, but I don't see myself revisiting this very soon.
1. Suspended in the gaffa
2. Leave it open
3. Houdini
I was blown away when this album started, so many songs I've already heard, but these live version are even better. Makes me want to relisten to some thin lizzy songs. Amazing energy, vocal, instruments etc... In the second half it does get a bit less interesting, as not their best songs get played. Liked this album.
1. Southbound
2. Jailbreak
3. Still in love with you
Amazing Sinatra album, great classics sung by him, some songs go way back for me, love his swooning voice throughout this album. Great.
1. You Brought A New Kind Of Love To Me
2. Love Is Here To Stay
3. I've Got You Under My Skin
