Rush albums should be taught as great literature.

This is a good one to hear again. It is different than other Beatles fare, but it is a culturally iconic album.

This is a classic. So good. Anthem for the late 70s.

A masterclass album!

I am not the biggest Metallica fan, but this album blends the classic with the evolving metal of the late 80s so well!!!

I am not a fan of Guns N' Roses, but I know and understand what important shifts in music mean in genres, and this album represents a shift in metal...and also the end of a golden era of metal. Metallica and Guns N' Roses produced their best music in the late 80s at the right time. Any later, and it would have been a wash (Metallica would be the only true survivor).

Breakthrough album that I personally believe was one of the key albums that helped usher in the change in music in the 1990s.

Not bad...had some decent cuts but personally not one of my faves. However, I do appreciate how well the group responded to changes in the members.

I did not get through all of this, but a little 60s bossa nova never hurt anyone!

Simply. Excellent.

Oh mercy. This is the standard for "old school hip-hop. It tackled the urban issues head-on while having some of the strongest beats of the day. Also, The Message remains the standard for conscious rap and opened the door for generations of future talent.

Five stars. All day. Moving Pictures introduced me to Rush and I never looked back (except to listen to all the previous albums Rush put out). Arguably their best album (my personal favorite, edging out Permanent Waves and ahead of Signals). It did not hurt that I was taking honors English and suddenly every lyric made even more sense each month in those classes. Great with or without metaphorical context.

In terms of rap, there is so much better. Did he have some time relevant rap culture relevant bars? Yeah, but head down the road to Kendrick...and see what happens when rap matures.

Tina stunned us all with this album. Not only was it good, but perhaps it was Tina's BEST WORK overall. The entire presentation was excellent. Her Private Dancer concert? One of my all-time favorites. This is a MUST LISTEN for anyone who loves R&B, soul, pop.

While John Lennon was talented, Paul McCartney and Wings was the best overall 70s pop from the Beatles…in my opinion. Lennon made one think, and we are all grateful…but Wings gave the 70s a little separation from the mess.

Rarely are final studio albums this good. But The Police nailed it with this album. If one was on most college campuses in this time, they heard at least one of these songs once a day.

Simply one of the best albums of the 90s...period.

One of the top R&B albums of the 80s, easily. The entire album is fantastic. It's poignant ("The Knowledge" and "State of the World" still resonate more than 35 years later). The dance. The energy. No matter your favorite genre, this is one to listen to. Oh, and mad props to Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, who created who helped Janet create a musical masterpiece. (This would be a great Broadway play...come on Lin Manuel...)

This ABBA album is so pop and so disco yet so...not fully disco? There is something about the sound that makes it distinct, makes it feel like the 70s, but not enough for those who went through disco fever and disco abandonment in just three years. Only the hard were able to avoid Dancing Queen.

If anyone wants to get a proper viewpoint of Black America in the late 80s, early 90s, put this on and hang on. Public Enemy was not playing, and even if it might hurt some feelings, the album rings true (and remains timely).

This album defined Johnny Cash. As a musician. As a legend.

A decade defining album. I wore my cassette out. So many good songs.

If any one wants top tier Stevie, this album and Songs in the Key of Life are must listens. The early 70s has some of the all-time best music out of any genre, taking advantage of moving away from formuliac music and advantage of released talent.

Though I am not a big fan, this album helped initiate punk rock into a core genre.

Led Zeppelin is the iconic early 70s band...with music so good, people who discovered it in the late 70s or early 80s might have thought they were a new band or producing new music...they were just that far ahead of the curve. Immigration Song...man...
