Horses by Patti Smith

Power In Numbers by Jurassic 5
Jun 29 2026

I love the added flute. My favorite song was Thin Line. The universal, unsolvable problem of being friends and do you cross the line into more.

Dookie by Green Day
Jun 30 2026
Wonderful Rainbow by Lightning Bolt
Jul 01 2026

I agree with the reviewer this was a “truly challenging listening experience".

Talking Heads 77 by Talking Heads
Jul 02 2026

Compared to the previous Punk albums I prefer the musicality of Talking Heads.

Dirty by Sonic Youth
Jul 09 2026
Innervisions by Stevie Wonder
Jul 10 2026

I enjoyed this album and was pleasantly surprised that 3 of the songs I knew from my high school years.

Led Zeppelin III by Led Zeppelin
Jul 14 2026

Trivia from Uncle Dale, a Zeppelin fan from the first days. Black Dog was a jam session, making up words, that got recorded. Someone saw a black dog running while at the studio, giving it the Black Dog title. It was put on the album never anticipating it would become a popular hit. The band had to go back and listen to the recording to know what the words were and chart the music in order to play it at their concerts.

Endtroducing..... by DJ Shadow
Jul 15 2026

I didn't appreciate this album but after conversation with 1212026-fam I can see what DJ Shadow was attempting, and props for his efforts.

The Band by The Band
Jul 16 2026

They utilized many of the folk music instruments. The mouth harp, harmonica , banjo and organ blended in the classic folk music sound.

American Idiot by Green Day
Jul 20 2026

I remember Green Day making a slash and their one song I recall hearing on the radio was “The Reason.”

A Wizard, A True Star by Todd Rundgren
Jul 23 2026

The music was nice but his lyrics seems like “stream of consciousness” .

Head Hunters by Herbie Hancock
Jul 24 2026

I enjoyed the many instruments that were included beyond the guitars, drums and keyboard.

Nilsson Schmilsson by Harry Nilsson
Jul 28 2026

"Without You" was, and remains, one of my favorite songs. With complete surprise I found it here. I found "Without You" completely different musically and lyrically from the rest of the album. I was familiar with "Coconuts" but only the chorus line. Listening to the rest of the lyrics was interesting.

Quiet Life by Japan
Jul 29 2026

The synth sound is high pitched and I don't find it melodic enough to pull me into listening to an albums worth of songs. .

The Nightfly by Donald Fagen
Jul 30 2026

This was a smooth, jazzy-esque, easy listening experience.

Green River by Creedence Clearwater Revival
Aug 04 2026

This was the sound of the 60s-early 70s, the hits played on and I knew them. Listening today the tense, plucking guitar riffs are too strong for my listening pleasure.

Californication by Red Hot Chili Peppers
Aug 10 2026

I really like the lead singers voice. Road Trippin is the song I liked the best, more melodic, the harmony was smooth and the swell of additional instruments was a nice and different choice from the other songs on the album.

First Band On The Moon by The Cardigans
Aug 11 2026

A pretty lead singer with a soft, one dimensional tone. Each song seemed the same in melody, timing, inflection. Harmonies or backup singing would offer variety and more. It wasn't bad but a whole album was more than I was interested in listening to.

Stephen Stills by Stephen Stills
Aug 12 2026

Stephen Stills is solidly the 'voice of a generation' and the group, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young are legendary. Stills voice is iconic and in the harmonies of CSNY I enjoy it more than solo.

Vanishing Point by Primal Scream
Aug 13 2026

In the review it was interesting to read the album was titled after a movie and the songs an alternative movie score. I enjoyed the instrumental only songs, didn't care for the singing or lyrics.
