Exile On Main Street by The Rolling Stones
Jul 03 2026

5.5/10 i liked most of them and would be fine to listen to casually but i don't think any were particularly memorable they sort of blended into one for me but the good ones were pretty good, probably a nice driving album, tolerate his voice bit more now

2112 by Rush
Jul 04 2026

4/10 = was not particularly a huge fan of the screechy singing style but when he packed it in and sang a little better i liked that, enjoyed the drumming a lot though pretty impressive, overall was not majorly wowed

KIWANUKA by Michael Kiwanuka
Jul 05 2026

6.5ish/10 but felt bad giving it just a 3 = much preferred this to the last couple, think the backing and harmonies worked really well and the whole album worked well together, can hear slight 60/70s influence which i think worked really well and i liked the messages in the songs too, not sure if i would seek out to listen again but wouldn't be mad if i did

Hounds Of Love by Kate Bush
Jul 06 2026

5.5/10 = kind of sucks for me that i can never fully get into her vocals because i love most of the instrumentals and the storytelling gothic elements but the vocals always just gets slightly under my skin maybe it just hasn't clicked for me yet, like i watched a hungarian film last week and the instrumental was so insanely good that i looked it up and it was a sample from hello earth but i just can't enjoy the whole song lol

My Generation by The Who
Jul 07 2026

4.9/10 = it was a good listen but i feel like after a while they all blended together a little and i wouldn't really be able to remember any specifics except a few, still good for a debut though

Electric Ladyland by Jimi Hendrix
Jul 08 2026

5/10 = feel like a scrooge because i know he's one of the greats and the guitar was very good i'll give him that but none necessarily stood out to me like crazy i probably need to relisten

Rings Around The World by Super Furry Animals
Jul 09 2026

7.5/10 = maybe i'm biased because my dad loves super furry animals and gruff rhys so it reminds me of my childhood a lot but i do love this album, juxtaposed with u is one of my fav songs i always play it at pres and in the car etc its just so unanimously liked when i play it, but i wasnt as familiar with the others so was nice to hear them again, very fitting with the sunny weather too, def think super furry animals are quite underrated in terms of britpop-esque bands

Pump by Aerosmith
Jul 10 2026

5/10 = i'm ngl i was in a hater mood at first but i finished it and actually didn't mind and would probably relisten, very rahhh usa but i liked the build ups and his voice to an extent especially the descending harmonies

Grace by Jeff Buckley
Jul 11 2026

I LOVE JEFF BUCKLEY I LOVE JEFF BUCKLEY THIS WAS MY SHIT IN YEAR 3 ANF IT'S MY SHIT NOW 9.2/10 sorry i know in my heart its a 10 but there are a few skips like i dont loveeee lilac wine or hallelujah and i would have to be in quite a specific mood to listen to them, butttttt the rest genuinely make that not count. i don't listen as much as i used to in high school bc i played it to death but i can obviously still appreciate it, even though it annoyed me deeply when it was tiktokified it was clearly for a reason, and in a non glazing way i have to give it so high because he truly influenced so much other stuff that i love, eg. thom york and in rainbows radiohead, and cocteau twins elizabeth fraser, and massive attack too just off the top of my head, still pisses me off that my mum can't remember being barrier for him at glastonbury get it together girl

Woodface by Crowded House
Jul 12 2026

5/10 = i do like crowded house despite the fact my dad absolutely beefs with them and huffs and puffs when it comes on shuffle but felt quite whelmed by this, they get their sound across well but it just kind of bored me by the end

Triangle by The Beau Brummels
Jul 13 2026

2/10 = not for me sorry to the brummels, again if i liked bob dylan i would probably like this a lot more but i dont particularly love his voice so i didn't really like their attempt at his style, some nice instrumentals and riffs but nothing i would feel compelled to come back to, tried reheating maxwell's silver hammer nachos and burnt them

Music From Big Pink by The Band
Jul 14 2026

like a 5/10 = didn't think it particularly worked together as a whole album bc there wasn't really any cohesion whatsoever but i did like listening to it on the bus, most likely wouldn't listen again but didn't dislike as much as i thought

Vulnicura by Björk
Jul 15 2026

maybe 7.8/10 = i do love bjork and i do glaze her often and i actually hadn't listened to this album before or even particularly heard of it but i did enjoy it quite a lot, i think she's always good at making an entire album flow and the instrumentals are always 10/10 but i didn't have any stand out songs, will probs listen again soon

Let England Shake by PJ Harvey
Jul 16 2026

7.99/10 = oh my god banger after banger in this album selection for me yippee, i have this album on my i-pod so it used to be in my sleep rotation super heavily especially during high school so i know each song really well and it really brings me back to like year 9/10 vividly, i also loveeee pj harvey deeply and when i saw her live i teared up when she sang songs from this lol, sometimes i find her voice a little shrill on some and i wouldn't choose to listen to it much on my phone anymore now and i probably would not rate it so highly if i didn't have a prior connection to it, but when it comes on randomly or i sleep to it i love it, i really like how she describes and sings about england and war in this and you can hear all the instrument and singing choices aligning with that the whole time, not my fav album by her but probably the one i know the best, thanks parents for putting me on

Rising Above Bedlam by Jah Wobble's Invaders Of The Heart
Jul 17 2026

3.9ish/10 = not terribleeee but it felt like a bit of a chore to listen to and i just didnt really click with it much, had some nice riffs though

Ramones by Ramones
Jul 18 2026

7/10 = tbh very popular and overplayed but popular and overplayed for a reason i think, goes by really quickly and i enjoyed each song and remembered way more than i thought even though its basically the same song over again

Jul 19 2026

5.8/10 = first proper rap album i've got so far so was quite excited to hear something other than bob dylan-esque warbling but lost interest the longer i listened honestly, i liked the instrumentals, samples and production but i kept waiting for the "hit" of the album and i couldn't really differentiate any lol, very 90s too but in a little bit of a parody way

Deja Vu by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young
Jul 20 2026

8/10 = actually really enjoyed and would most likely go back to a lot of these, the only one i knew was our house and that was actually one of my least favourites because the rest were so strong, i know them all individually but they really worked as a group and the harmonies and backing instrumentals were so good and memorable and it reminds me of something i would have listened to in college

Brothers by The Black Keys
Jul 21 2026

4.5/10 = felt like it was quite generic but also very manufactured to have a specific sound in a way but with no pay off, probs wont listen again for a while but i imagine my dad will put this on randomly

Vincebus Eruptum by Blue Cheer
Jul 22 2026

2/10 = feel a bit harsh but i actually could not deal with this it felt like such a drag, i saw the vision but his flow was so awful to me and felt like there was no pay off to any of the build ups, couldn't work out what the hit was even meant to be, i do appreciate they set up the genre a bit though

Jul 23 2026

8.5/10 = j'adore mc solaar depuis le lycee! i remember in my sixth form my french teacher putting another song from a different album on and we had to translate the lyrics and they're always so clever and double meanings in so much, made me want to get better at my french so i could understand these lyrics a bit better bc i would've given this a 5 probably, he always has such a good flow and i never got bored, c'etait tres genial

Jul 24 2026

probs like 4.5/10 = after being criticised i will be more concise in these reviews. good to listen to in background but not enough memorable ones to revisit.

1984 by Van Halen
Jul 25 2026

4/10 = i didn't totally hate it but i really don't think i'd listen to it again, it was so extremely 80s so i imagine i'll hear it in a soundtrack at some point and be like wow, some nice guitar riffs

Jul 26 2026

8/10 = ngl i was surprised with how much i liked this but i always forget that i actually like country music a lot, the guitar slide i think that's what it is was so nice and the whole album was easy and soothing to listen to and i would actually listen to this again, reminded me of o brother where art thou at points

Exodus by Bob Marley & The Wailers
Jul 27 2026

hm maybe a 7ish/10 = i can appreciate it as a genre and obviously the classics are classics for a reason but i don't think it's totally clicked with me ever, found it quite samey but a nice listen through anyways

Meat Is Murder by The Smiths
Jul 28 2026

7.5/10 = maybe a bit biased bc this would always be on in the background when i was little so its more nostalgic than anything, def not the best smiths album but that doesn't make it bad by any means, well i wonder is one of my fav smiths songs so i have to give it that too, quite repetitive but i like everything they're repeating so it doesn't matter lol

Heaven Or Las Vegas by Cocteau Twins
Jul 29 2026

10/10!! was jumping up and down with excitement when i saw this i love cocteau twins so much and this album is so perf, crazy to think this isn't even their best album either, such a fun listen and so summer and elizabeth fraser singing in a made-up language makes it so much nicer because you only have to focus on the melody, very happy to relisten to this one in full again

The Score by Fugees
Jul 30 2026

6/10 = didn't mind it and enjoyed a fair few but expexted a little more for how much it's been hyped up since forever

Life Thru A Lens by Robbie Williams
Jul 31 2026

all i could think about looking at this album cover was him as a monkey in the film

Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath
Aug 01 2026

6.5/10 = used to like ozzy osbourne's solo stuff quite a lot in high school but haven't really listened to black sabbath before this so was interesting to see how his voice changed, wish i could appreciate the heavy metal a bit more, liked the album cover

Moby Grape by Moby Grape
Aug 02 2026

5/10 = i liked the slower songs but i think it sort of went in one ear and out the other like there was nothing that particularly stood out to me and i think there are better albums from this time with this sound tbh

Back At The Chicken Shack by Jimmy Smith
Aug 03 2026

6.5ish/10 = unexpectedly liked this quite a bit, nice background noice and one of the instruments i really liked when it came on but i can't remember what its called as im typing this sorry jimmy smith, do think all the sings blended together a bit toooo much though

The Low End Theory by A Tribe Called Quest
Aug 04 2026

8/10 = have listened to a lot of these before but not the whole album all the way through, quite nice to have on in the background and i like the style of hiphop but i wish it had more sampling in the backing to actually differentiate and make them a bit more interesting

Southern Rock Opera by Drive-By Truckers
Aug 05 2026

like 3.5/10 = was really not what i was expecting and i was a little upset because i actually really liked the first song and thought it was going to be a trick and not fully country but then it shifted into a weird country parody type thing that would be in a jackass skit #notmycountry

A Short Album About Love by The Divine Comedy
Aug 06 2026

generous 4/10 = i've seen divine comedy cds downstairs that my parents have and have never got round to listening or enquiring about it and quite grateful i never bothered, almost good at points before he just gets so over the top that it feels like a parody, i did see that fjm probably got inspiration but he did it better and calling it similar to scott walker is insulting

Tommy by The Who
Aug 07 2026

1.5/10 = honestly slop im sorry i just could not get into this at all and it felt like such a chore and the arrangements were all over the place to me and his voice was genuinely jarring i couldn't care less that it's a concept album at least make 2 or 3 good songs for me guys

Hot Fuss by The Killers
Aug 08 2026

5/10 = would not listen to this of my own free will and still wouldn't after listening to the whole thing buttttt i can still appreciate it for what is it and they did do a good job with soundtracking a very specific feeling and time in the uk which still holds up, and mr brightside secretly still flames even if it does remind me of thekla thursday a bit too much

Autobahn by Kraftwerk
Aug 09 2026

6.5/10 = biased a little bit because i remember always docking my dad's ipod to listen to the robots in my dining room when i was rlly little and a lot of the album is quite inaccessible i think and "it insists upon itself" especially w the reviews i skimmed here but i didn't mind it at all and it was good background for me

Tigermilk by Belle & Sebastian
Aug 10 2026

7.5/10 = nice to listen to this again quite nostalgic for early primary school of me, used to be kind of a hater and think it was boring but at some point it kind of clicked, do like this album a lot but if you're feeling sinister coming out the same year overshadows this one for me and i wouldn't pick this over it, hipster twee optimism should come back pls

London Calling by The Clash
Aug 11 2026

7/10 = actually enjoyed quite a lot, obviously knew a couple but didn't feel too much effort to listen too, a little repetitive but again i didn't mind what they were repeating

Justified by Justin Timberlake
Aug 12 2026

barely listened to this only a couple songs but i didn't go through that to not review = snooze fest of justin timberlake thinking that he's michael jackson, pharell producing was obvious but didnt help at all just trying to reheat his own nachos, if i was drunk out my mind i would probably dance to rock your body but reluctantly

My Aim Is True by Elvis Costello
Aug 13 2026

5/10 = ultimately i do like this but it's definitely a very specific moment in time, his disney knees in the honestly eyesore album cover is really funny to me, all were quite similar but none really stood out to me except maybe alison because he wasn't warbling so hard on it, but yes i didnt mind this i bet there will be more of him to appear later so i will have to brace for that
