1001 Albums Summary

Liked the dichotomy of the poppy, synth side A and the haunting Side B

Contained many great high energy tracks that I hadn’t heard. Beyond the classic Pump It Up and Radio Radio, there were some real deep cuts that really got mw rocking

Neat album, you can see how it was a soundtrack, you can kind of piece together the story from the songs

Not the biggest jazz fan, but this album had a number of classic tracks that were new to me, and got me into a groove

Real classic, gets you fired up for whatever you need to do

One of his best, even the tracks that start off “meh” pick up later on. Probably second only to Born to Run

I have some friends who love him, he was never my cup of tea. He is certainly talented, but his voice and style are a little grating. There were a couple of tracks on this album that I really liked, like Blind Love, but overall the album didn’t do much for me

This was a cool surprise, a country album by the Byrds. Gram Parsons did a great job as lead singer

Not really my cup of tea, but I liked what he did with horns in the jazzier tracks, such as “Tis a Pity She was a Whore”

Fun album with dance and other influences

Very creative and powerful. Sad that he ended up going crazy later on

Helped make me fall in love with rock music when I was a kid, still holds up. Diverse songs that work well together

Probably the best surprise I’ve had so far doing this. Love the way it jumps between moods

The big band portion at the beginning was amazing, some of the later songs were a little slow for my taste
