1001 Albums Summary

One of my favorites

This album was an amazing listen in 1968 and sounds just as great today.

A few classics and a fun listen all the way through

Partly nostalgia but I very much enjoyed this listen.

One star for each of these talented women and one extra, because Dolly.

"Perfect Day" gets me every time I hear it.

Some of the songs on this album are better than others, but there is an honesty to her voice that sells them all and makes this a great listen.

"One of These Things First" and "Northern Sky" are two my favorite Nick Drake songs. This album is filled with poetry set to music.

So many great tunes.

If you are in a mellow mood and want to stay there, you might like this one. I know I did.

This was not an easy one to get through.

The songs on this album all sounded very similar to me. Still, it was a pleasant listen.

When I saw the words "Jazz Fusion" associated with this album I was not expecting to enjoy it. I was wrong about that and liked this one very much.

A couple of stand out tracks and an overall worthwhile listen.

They have only one gear but it's one that makes this a fun album to listen to.

Before listening to this album I only was familiar with a couple of the better known songs. It turns out that the entire album is great.

Somehow I made it through this entire album without dozing off.

I've never listened to this entire album before and I kept waiting for the inevitable downturn, but it never came. It's a collection of great tracks and greater tracks, and worthy of all 5 of these stars.

This has some of my favorite Dylan songs on it but I can say the same thing about most of his albums.

The opening song, Into My Arms, tells you exactly where this album is going, which is a pretty dark place. The remaining tracks don't measure up to the excellent quality of the opener though and made this a tough listen for me.

I ended up skipping quickly through most of this. Just didn't find it interesting or to my taste. I may have to give it another chance.

I couldn't quite get to 5 stars on this one, but there's plenty to like here.

"Don't Think Twice" is one of my all-time favorite Dylan songs, and this album is like a time capsule of the era in which it was written.

An artistic gem? I'm not so sure. But for me it is pure entertainment.
