1001 Albums Summary

Has my favourite Stevie song, but overall didn't really do it for me. good not great

Don't understand how this album is one of the biggest sellers of all time, if it were a colour it would be beige

Never the biggest Bowie fan, but can appreciate it's a good album

Bad Moon Rising is a classic track, enjoyed the album, but nothing spectacular

I only assume this is in the have to hear list because you have to hear how awful it is

Enjoyed it more than I was expecting as I am not a massive Zep fan

Bought this album when it came out, haven't revisited it much in intervening years. Why is it in this list, maybe one of them is related to the list compiler?

Cracking Album

Don't get it... but it is impressive to be able sing harmonies with yourself that are neither harmonic, nor melodic, nor in time with the music or your other self. Could feel myself slowly give up the will to live as the album progressed

Very pleasant to have in the background, but nothing super memorable bar the title track, nothing really memorable

Bongos..thousands of them..they're everywhere.. love it

Not even Elton's finest 6:17 that is Tiny Dancer can raise this above a 3. As for Indian Summer, I can see what he was trying to say..but dear lord there must have been less lumpy ways of doing it, still at least now I know where that 2Pac sample came from

Enjoyed it far more than I was expecting.. even with The Model on it which I find really tedious

Dreary... if this was played at a funeral, the corpse would rise out of the coffin to turn it off

5 all day long (even with Jazz Police on it)

In the same way Sade soundtracked dinner parties in the '80s, this was the dinner party soundtrack of the 2000s.. perfectly pleasant but nothing spectacular

Lyrically some songs REALLY don't hold up well by todays standards. Musically not bad but there are far better entries in the Stones catalogue

If it wasn't for his tragic passing in short order after this albums release it would have been thought of as another Tin Machine

A pleasant example of the Genre, not one I am likely to return to, but nice enough

Love this band, not my favourite of theirs..but a solid 3

If you aren't familiar with early Alice work beyond the classic singles, this album will come as a real surprise due to the myriad styles it covers.

3 - enjoyed it more than expecting, but not brilliant

Pleasant surprise how much I enjoyed this. Knew of him, but had never heard his stuff. Reminded me on occasion of Ben Folds stuff which is no bad thing

Another one where I had never really paid the artist much attention beyond the singles I had heard.. but this is a brilliant album.. will do some more digging

It's a good album..but too long - needs a bit more variety in it to hit the 5.. a solid 4

Pleasant enough, nothing spectacular and unlikely to ever return to it
