very old school rock feel.
unorthodox main vocals, but works surprisingly.
good instrumentals and accompaniments. Main vocals were ok, novel to say the least.
classic rap/hip hop in the 80s/90s.
Yeah boyyyyyyy, a classic for flav.
First song's instrumentals starts off strong, sets up for the rest of the album. Goddamn nice accompaniments. Smooth. Come on Eileen is a classic.
nice ambient music. It is what it was supposed to be. Calming.
nice soul/blues vibe from the start of the record. I really like the instrumentals on the first song. The mixing on the second song seems off. As the record progresses, it gets less interesting, and the vocals don't seem matched for the instrumentals.
I want to preface this with I do not enjoy heavy metal, so I will be biased in saying I did not enjoy this record. More enjoyable than heavier metal sounds, but still, was not for me. Typical progressions and sounds. Weak vocal accompaniments. Very predictable sound structure. Sonically it was fine for heavy metal.
Everything sort of blends together. This is pretty avant garde with electronica and experimental music, which I don't particularly enjoy, but I understand the concept behind it.
Phenomenal album. Great production and cohesive album. A debut album with a mix of both production and rapping from Kanye West. The start of Kanye's eponymous soul/vocal pitching for beats and background vocals rather than contrived and often boring hard hitting drums and bass that plagued early 90s/00s hip hop.
Great album overall. Some songs seem to blend together, but the standouts are great songs with so much replay value. The pop and rock genre are perfectly molded with Turner's vocals, creating a fresh and sweet sound that is sonically pleasing. The change of sound from her past songs is welcomed and at some points in the album, invited. Her raspy vocals still provide a strong and seamless album that is enjoyable to listen to.
It's hard to listen to a full album of just one genre of music in the 80s, as a lot of the songs blend together. This doesn't take away from the vocals and heavy jazz/soul feel she creates, but the songs mesh together in a sort of bad way. Its listenable, but is it as enjoyable if there was more variety in the sound?
I thoroughly enjoyed this album. Usually I like more contemporary rock albums, but it genuinely surprised me on how it created a cohesive sound throughout the entirety of the album. Instrumentals were good, they were par with other rock albums.
Album was alright. I wasn't blown away by it. Instrumentals sounded like how it's supposed to sound for hard rock. Sounds dated even though it was released in the 90s.
Very funky and groovy. I did enjoy it quite a bit but there are some tracks that are a little too much. Some tracks are overbearing with instrumentals, but I understand why people would want that
This is a good album. It is my personal favorite from Eminem.
I didn't really listen to it in depth. It was alright.
I like the instrumentals the first part of the album. Very funk influenced, but as the album progressed, it become grating and too experimental, bordering on random sounds mashed together in a wild mess that resulted an unpleasing sound to listen to
I think the album is very good. It has nice vocals and some great instrumentals to go with the vocals. I thoroughly enjoyed the direction of the album.
I thought it was very good despite it being a little dated. The instrumentals are always good for Led Zeppelin and the vocals are also pretty standard as well.
It was alright. I didn't love it or hate it.
Very rock influenced blues. Quite enjoyable with the old rock influence and chord progressions. Vocals are reminiscent of old 60s blues.
Not the sound that I was looking for.
It has a very experimental punk rock feel. I actually enjoyed it quite thoroughly. His vocals were alright, but it fit the instrumentals and experimental tones.
I like the heavy guitar rock instrumentals. Vocals are average and expected from an early 90s record. There are some highlights in the record where the instrumentals intertwine with the vocals very fluidly however. Lyrical substance is questionable.
Sonically pleasing. Very easy to listen and enjoy. Nice vocals accompanied by the minimal instrumentals is a perfect combination for this record. Surprisingly doesn't sound as dated as other albums recorded around the same time because of its stripped-down approach of soft vocals and soft instrumentals. The whole record is a cohesive and smooth body of work, with no abrupt stops and changes.
It was alright. I do like the guitar instrumentals and heavy rock/metal sound.
I actually enjoyed it. The heavy rock sound was enjoyable.
Very average. Not intersting.
It was a good album, but I think the sound is kind of dated. It had some nice beats, but many songs started to sound the same with the same cadence and rapping style.
The album is very smooth and soulful. The opening track is what sets it up and is one of the most recognizable sounds to this day. What a simple and sweet album full of smooth singing and laid back accompaniments. Very much enjoyed it, and it is a perfect album to just listen to.
It was alright. Very personal and depressing lyrics.
Great jazz album. Very pop like feel. Absolutely love the saxophones.
A superb album by one of the greatest pop stars of all time. Timeless album with memorable songs that are easily recognizable from the first note. Such a groovy and get-down-on-the-floor sounds that are so infectious. Amazing sound sonically with great vocals and accompaniments to support. Overall, a very easy listen over and over again.
It was alright. Not the sound that I personally will look out for. It got hard to listen to in the middle.
So groovy. Enjoyed it quite a bit. I can't get over the fact that chef has such a great voice, but he did have some memorable songs on the show. Smooth and easy listen.
It was pretty ok. There wasn't anything stand out about it that I would revisit again. What I want from this group is the more pop/upbeat music which was not present in this album.
Actually really enjoyed it. Punk rock is not usually my thing, but it had a great sound and the lyrics weren't half bad.
Nice guitars. That's about it.
It was a good album for what it is. I always love her voice and the way she carries the music she sings. Very lulling which might make it seem a little boring.
I like the voice. Its very unexplainable, but its catchy.
This a great album to listen to. I appreciated the vocals, but over time it can get a little boring and repetitive. However, if you are listening in short/medium bouts, it will be a great album to put on.
Not good. Horribly outdated. Rhyme scheme and instrumentals and beats are too old to be enjoyable. Very repetitive and uninspiring.
It was great the first half of the album, but become less engaging in the second half. It is still a nice album to listen to however. Stripped down instrumentals and vocals are a great sound.
It was a good jazz/soul album. It wasn't that exciting however. Very average.
Typical pop rock sound. It sounds great though. Very palatable and honestly a good record to put on in the background. An easy listen and a very smooth album throughout.
I love the smooth jazz. Love the saxophone and its nice sound. Great album to put on and listen to while doing something else or just lying down and relaxing.
It was interesting, but it just sounded very repetitive and boring. Not my thing I guess.
Actually very good. It is consistently good throughout the album. Short album but doesn't feel rushed.
Yes... This album is both interesting and bland at times. It can be very great musically, great instrumentation and meshing with the vocals, but at times, it feels boring. Feels like it is trying to capture the essence of a pop rock band feel, but way too in the lines. It sounded cookie cutter at times, which may have been the reason I found it boring at times. Good album, but can get lost in between.
