Chemtrails Over The Country Club
Lana Del ReyA surprisingly good and interesting album. I’d never listened to Lana before this but knew she was popular. I will be listening again!

Not going to lie I’m only 5 songs in but I get the jist. It’s a fun album that I’ll come back too but I’m too many days behind on this list. I remember this on the list of cool bands my older sister and city cousins listened to. And they have an oomlat like me so they’re basically family.
Ubu’s dance party was the highlight for me. I can see why LCD Soundsystem name dropped them.
A pleasant surprise! I’m realizing my main criteria for music I like is its ability to move me - emotionally or physically. This is the best kind of jazz, that’s tempered with delicious samba
I understand the significance of it, still don’t like it. Read Townshend’s interview about it and he did too many drugs.
Solid.
This album got me through an awkward summer in college. Wholeheartedly in love with this one, and the songs are so catchy and fun.
Sounds like this album heralded new wave and having heard and loving new wave this album fell flat for me.
Reading the reviews was more enjoyable than listening! A surprisingly good attempt and easy listening, but more so in that it felt like a real attempt from a one dimensional band to be complete.
Thought it was a really interesting story but I don’t smoke enough pot to enjoy a song for 30 minutes. Appreciate the history though!
I loved it then and love it now. I saw as a kid how it was different from the rest of the music out there, that they were a unique and hopeful voice. Every band with a message, even if it’s an upsetting message deserves to be heard.
Only listened because it is Jeff Buckley’s dad. One song I found interesting - “Once I was”. The rest seemed trite. His voice isn’t strong and wobbles a lot. I feel like in terms of folk music Nick Drake is the gold standard and everyone else pales in comparison
What a pleasant surprise in the rotation! I forgot how many songs of these I know and love
Just a beautiful album
90’s cheese aside it was a surprisingly smooth and good album
I’ve never heard of this band before. I wasn’t drawn in, but I appreciate the new wave vibe
I really enjoyed this album. Classic Rolling Stones and makes me understand why they’re so popular.
Evocative of all the things 80s but also fresh. I truly enjoyed hearing this, having never heard of the band.
Love this album.
Yes. A resounding absolute yes. A tragic ending to a man’s life who made such beautiful music.
Started listening. Couldn’t finish but Zappa likes that I can’t access it.

The power at which this album hit me when I first heard it, and again while I listened to it entirely through multiple times. This woman is unparalleled in her lyrics, her voice and range, and rhythms. Just stunningly beautiful.
Forgot about these but had a memory of my sister getting this album and listening to the whole thing. Start of my parents Christian shaming music….
I love her energy.
This was playing in a New York record shop near Columbia in 2004 and I was immediately in love. I knew New Order and knew their parent Joy Division but this album was soothing, familiar, catchy and fresh. Fresh even in 2004 and again in 2022

I’ve never heard of them but enjoyed this album
All the rockabilly punk you never knew you wanted but need.
It was ok. So many better electronica/dance djs out there
A surprisingly good album! The first time I’ve been pleasantly surprised by an album I’ve not previously heard of
Surprising little gem. The singer’s voice is stronger on some songs than the other but I’m mostly fascinated by this album because it’s the only one the band produced
Ubu’s dance party was the highlight for me. I can see why LCD Soundsystem name dropped them.
Classic.
I’d heard two of the songs before but never the rest. Definitely listening to it again, highlight “the great curve”
Pure bliss.
I might listen again but wasn’t feeling a whole album
It’s the Eels so of course I love it
Interesting. I’ve never heard of him before today. Pseudo Nick drake, part James Taylor.
A surprising connection having never heard of the band until today
Finally!!! Yes. Just a stunning album
Amazing. Some albums hit at just the right time.
Nope.
Another fantastic surprise, but I have loved Muse before
The biggest thing I learned was “know how” sampled the first 10-20 seconds of the opening them song. So cool.
