1001 Albums Summary

A really fascinating album, that never drags. I loved some tracks on this and strongly disliked others. ‘Heroin’ is revolutionary but I’m not a big fan of the screeching viola towards the end of the track. Overall, a really interesting experience of an album. I’m sure my rating of this will change over time.

Really well done, with some great tunes. I personally couldn’t get as into it as I’d have liked but I bet this will really benefit from a relisten or two.

I really dig the first two tracks here (Zero and Heads Will Roll), but the unfortunately after that the album deteriorates a bit in quality, and never reaches the heights of those two again.

2, is interesting musically but flat out unenjoyable to listen to and a bit too experimental for my taste.

A really enjoyable and consistent album. ‘Colorado’ was probably my favorite track.

I’m usually not a big fan of rap, but there were some fantastic tracks on this. Makes for good study music.

Golden Years is fantastic, but the rest of the album kind of misses for me personally. I do love most David Bowie though.

It’s literally background music. It’s not bad background music, but it’s not meant to be fully listened to as an album like one would with pretty much everything else on this list.

Not my favorite Led Zeppelin album, but a solid one for sure. Coming off of an ambient music album, this is pretty freaking great.

I’m not much of a fan, but it’s not as bad as some people say it is, honestly. I can absolutely understand why people like it, but it’s not my type of music.

I love Leonard Cohens first album, but nothing he did afterword really resonates that much with me. I respect him, but I can’t really bring myself to enjoy this.

Such a great album

Tone-wise, all over the place. However, homeward bound is genuinely fantastic and I will always love Simon and Garfunkel, so this gets a 4.

This is about as grunge as the 1970’s would get, from what I’ve heard. Honestly a solid listen.

A decently enjoyable album. Elvis has a genuinely great discography, if I’m being honest. This is far from his best, but it’s pretty solid.

Overall an alright debut album. American Girl is fantastic but the rest doesn’t quite reach that height.

Super easy 5. Multiple of my favorite songs here, and a bunch of other classics.
