It was a 90’s journey but apart from the singles I didn’t feel I “got” it

Franz Ferdinand by Franz Ferdinand
Jan 13 2023

Solid album. Might not be something I would rush out to buy but has plenty of toe tappers. I felt that by todays standards the sound is a little sparse in layering. Enjoyed all the songs though, Dark of the Matinee, Auf Achse, and Come On Home in particular

Rust In Peace by Megadeth

Front half of the album is awesome. Back half lost me a bit. I’m enjoying it as a guilty pleasure but would hate to think this is earnest, serious lyrically.

Paul's Boutique by Beastie Boys
Jan 15 2023

Loved this - grimey beats, fun, feels homemade in the best way. Good groove and introspection as well as sillies.

Jan 17 2023

It was ok. A big album that loses its mind towards the end, and arguably better. Feels like a time and place sort of thing – at the time this would have cracked some heads open. I think worth listening to again, felt like a forerunner to Sufjan Stevens

Exodus by Bob Marley & The Wailers

Kinda slid by. Good album but also good summer wallpaper

Sucked a bit now that it's not in its time and place. Had a banger in there somewhere but just reminded me of annoying bands when I was a teen

Has some cool points – feels like they're trying to be too cool/fancy

Cypress Hill by Cypress Hill

The Stranger by Billy Joel

Loved it! Cracker album. Billy Joel is so cool

Feb 14 2023

First intro to Taylor Swift - what so stood out were her lyrics. Got a knack for conversational connection
