Creedence Clearwater Revivalok it seems like a four-worthy album to be honest but i really don't have the urge to listen to any of these songs again and its not my type of music so three it is.

Oliver Blunt, Archangel City's best detective, is a man motivated by one thing: revenge for his son, Charles a.k.a Chucky, killed by the mafia, the heart of the city's hideous underbelly. Blunt won't rest until he's put Don Carlo, the mysterious leader of the city's shadow underworld, behind bars - or killed him with his bare hands. But at the center of the case that Blunt thinks could lead to Don Carlo's destruction once and for all is a teenage boy with striking similarities to Blunt's dead son - even the same name. On his quest for revenge, Blunt will be forced to confront both Archangel City's all-powerful underworld and the turmoil that sits deep within his heart. honestly, huge points to this album for the concept and theme, even though i didn't enjoy all the songs i still love the idea. super fun to listen to while walking around at night and think of fake noir plots to. in terms of theme, a definite five, but obviously this is a music rating too so it'll be a four. fun fact: the wikipedia article for this album lists just one professional review.
-Smile Please: very chill and gentle, groovy, pretty relaxing -Heaven is 10 Zillion Light Years Away: my favorite out of the two so far, still got the groovy vibe from Smile Please but just more interesting -Too Shy To Say: more downbeat style of song, a little too downbeat for my liking but it still has good vibes -Boogie on Reggae Woman: awesome groovy intro, love the synthy stuff in the background rest of the album was nice
listened. i can tell it's a great album and very exemplar of its genre, but the trouble is that it's not really a genre i'm a fan of. i'm giving it a 3/5 because i can tell that it's good music, but it's just not music i enjoy.
I enjoyed the sound, it's great rock, but the songs weren't outstanding enough to warrant more than a 4.
oh my god, this album was awesome. it was so gentle and nostalgic, it felt like relaxing in nature by the campfire during a warm, humid evening - reminds me of west virginia, but nice. fireflies out. and stevie nicks' voice is seriously heavenly...
i mean, there are some more melodic parts of the songs that i like, but in general it was fairly boring and repetitive. dreadful in parts. on the edge of 2 and 3 for me but i'm sticking it at 2.
i enjoyed this. i really liked the instrumentals, they were synthy, catchy, reminded me of starfucker or the shins in places. my one gripe is the guy's voice kind of took the songs down for me, he made them feel less energetic than I'd like usually. still there were some great songs on this one, Fight Test, It's Summertime, Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots Pt 1. also i enjoy the cover art.
loved the medieval vibrations i was sensing. the journeys these songs take you on are super cool. even though there were parts i felt weren't to my liking, they still all contributed to the atmosphere of the album, which i did like. it was adventurous and fantastical. i lack the words to really describe how the music sounded but if this is prog rock then i like it. is it?
i like it, but it's not terribly exciting to me. the songs kind of blurred together and there were only a few that i really liked. not bad though. i think i could find a band of this genre that i like though... not quite this one.
i didn't expect it to be so jazzy. i like it!!! good background music, if you know what i mean... i wouldn't listen to it to listen to it. i would put it on in the kitchen while i'm baking, or play it while i'm walking. greatly enjoy the sound.
"we float" was by far the standout for me - not to say the other songs weren't great though. loved the thom yorke feature. i don't really know what to say. erm...great album. 5 stars!
I don't know man, i think I just don't like this kind of hip hop. there were a few songs on this album I liked (Jenifa Taught Me, Me Myself and I) but it felt way too long and most of the songs were pretty boring to me.
i liked it a lot more than i expected to. i went in expecting modern country, which i find absolutely intolerable, but i found this a lot more pleasant and folksy. it's not really exciting, but it's nice enough that i can't give it a three, which i wanna reserve for really 'ok' stuff. sounded a lot like fallout new vegas music (which makes me want to play it again). pretty nostalgic-sounding, it reminded me of hawaiian music. this is pretty much the only form of country music i can tolerate; four stars.
i'm relieved this isn't the album with sound of silence, because i hate that song. i've never listened to any other simon and garfunkel. this was a good first taste, i found it soothing and gentle on the ears and overall charming. on the edge of four and five because i'm not mad about it, but there's something about it that just feels right. five stars.
It's nice, but nothing special. Too eighties for me at some points.
couldn't bring myself to finish this. i can't stand her singing.
it's weird to rate this one because pre-60s music is honestly so far removed from what i like to listen to... but i didn't like it that much.
its ok, but i'd never listen to it.
maybe it's just because it's coming after a row of music i didn't enjoy, but this is honestly pretty enjoyable. i had a dream where i listened to it and it sounded AMAZING, and it's not quite as good as that, but it's still pretty nice!! rough sound but not just a wall of sound, and the vocals aren't *just* screaming. good stuff.
my friend mahika is a big fan of hole! for good reason it seems. i liked it on first listen but i appreciated it a lot more on the second. lyrics had a lot of meaning. great sound.
it's like the beastie boys but a little better. certainly not bad, but not my thing.
expected it to sound different. i enjoy this, it's got some interesting stuff. i like ripeness and the cutter the best, i think.
there were a few interesting songs but mostly this was boring to me. not super exciting
ughhhhh. boring and generic. i got a little nauseous listening to this.
ok it seems like a four-worthy album to be honest but i really don't have the urge to listen to any of these songs again and its not my type of music so three it is.
begrudgingly, i like this album. it was fun. but i still dislike queen and i HATE bohemian rhapsody ok.
it's a nice album... music sounds good.. but it left absolutely zero impression on me. I don't even know how to rate it. three, i think... psycho killer is good but the acoustic is better. i can't remember any other song and they all sounded samey to me.
i meant to give it another listen before rating, but oh well. i liked it a little bit more than talking heads, i think, but it still didn't resonate with me that much. seven nation army felt like it didn't mesh with the rest of the album (also i don't think it's an amazing song). i dunno

i mean, it's stereolab, so it's a five. i absolutely adore their sound, it's really unlike any other band i've ever heard. and the vocals are so unique as well, they have a really soothing and nostalgic feel to them. i don't really know how this album compares to their others as i haven't listened to most of them - i think dots and loops is a bit better - but i enjoy this one's combination of synthyness and rock elements. and stereolab is always a little weird, which i think adds to it.
people don't talk about r.e.m. too much nowadays, even though they were "really big." i posit that this is because they are a deeply mediocre band and their music was never that good in the first place. two.
I don't like saying this but it was actually kinda good. but they have a habit of adding really stupid elements to the songs which drag it down
I'm taking a gamble and rating it four assuming that a relisten would make me appreciate it more. I enjoyed it, but I was falling asleep while listening, which probably didn't help.
it's nice?
quite good! this is good rock and good messaging. nothing to complain about really. #rageagainstthemachine
there are some great songs in this album, and despite it's length it didn't really feel that long. but only *some* great songs... the others, although good, didn't stand out that much. and something about the kids singing in another brick in the wall pt 2 really annoyed me. but the great songs were great, for the most part, so i think a four is good.
it's not the best 80s music, but i think it's pretty good. i actually don't know whether it's a three or a four for me but there are some really lovely sounding songs on here and i think the existence of 4 ever 2 gether bumps it up to a four.
DIRE STRAITS! well, i quite liked it. it's a different kind of rock to what i normally listen to, but there's a nice rustic feel to it. nothing on the album really stood out, but it's new to me, and it felt very comfortable.
hmm. well, there are a handful of songs that I really enjoy - elegia, the perfect kiss, love vigilantes, a couple more - but the other songs were fairly unremarkable. as always, i love the sound of new order. elegia was incredible.
err... i don't know. it felt too slow and a little dull. not much more to say?
omg!! better than my expectations. first five songs or so were really great, rest of the album was still quite good but didn't reach those heights in my opinion. i was pleasantly surprised because i've listened to arcade fire's newer stuff and not liked it very much, but this is actually awesome. there's a homeliness about it that i like a lot.
ermm, ok... most of the songs are good, in my opinion, but there's so little variety on this album and all of the songs sound pretty much the same to me. they blend together.
this was such a struggle to get through - i thought about turning it off so many times but powered through anyway. i kinda wish i had stopped listening, because there really was nothing for me in this album. instrumentally it's just ok. vocally i hate it so much. his voice is so so so so so awful. sorry. and the album cover pisses me off. i don't like his expression.
save for the last song, i thought this was a really strong album. not a song i disliked, except the last song, and as ever the smiths bring a nice melancholy in the guitar and morrissey's voice. now i didn't like the last song (meat is murder). guys i THINK! morrissey might be a vegetarian... it was very offputting to essentially be preached to about the cruelty of eating meat for 6 minutes. i get it dude you're a vegetarian but i don't think your song converted anyone. anyway, five stars
i used to be a nirvana hater (way before this) but I am a nirvana truther now... super amazing... lithium alone probably makes it five stars, but everything else is on point. come as you are, something in the way, even smells like teen spirit, which I thought I hated. kurt cobain's voice is great and drums and guitar are also super awesome.
mildly depressing aura about this album. it's boring and mediocre.
i think i liked porcupine a little better. this is good, but it's a little less exciting than most of porcupine and it just feels less unique.
it's just a little too strange for me. none of these songs are really interesting at all. i guess i don't really get this style of music, maybe.
well, it's good, but i can only take so much of this kind of metal at one time. the whole time listening to this i was just thinking of how much i would hate an ac/dc concert. i just know they'd be playing their stupid guitars for like 10 extra minutes for every song.. it'd be sooo unenjoyable. anyway, like i said, it's good but i really get tired of stuff like this after the second or third song.
this would make some great cooking music
i dunno, it was alright
it's not bad but i don't really find any value in it. like, i'm never going to listen to this again, not because i don't like it but just because like. i honestly don't even feel anything listening to this. actually yes i do it's quite boring...
OH MY GOD CALIFORNIA DREAMIN' IS FROM THESE GUYS???? i did not know this. the graduate is a great film... anyway. .this was actually shockingly good. i guess i have an internal bias against any music from before the 70s but i expected this to be super boring, but it wasn't. folksy but not annoyingly so, and a lot of nice tunes - monday, monday, california dreamin', got a feelin', you baby, and most of the other songs were pleasant as well. first half was better than the second but both were great. not too long either - in fact i could've done with it being longer.
this didn't hit like the mama's and the papa's. it's good, but.. ehhh
can we stop with the 60s music now? this was marginally better than music from big pink but did not leave an impression on me.
i didn't know we're going to be friends was a white stripes song. hmm. there were a couple standouts on this album, but for the most part it's wasn't enjoyable for me, like their other album. we're gonna be friends and dead leaves and the dirty ground were the most memorable for me.
felt a little bit pretentious at times. I like the idea of "chamber pop," but I think it could be done better by someone else. only two really notable songs on this one
very nice sound they have going on. there's a fair amount of great stuff on this album, about half great (some timeless classics) and half alright.
errrr. i didn't like this. it's just not attractive, honestly, like the vocals aren't great and the guitar and the drums are kinda flat...
this seems like pretty solid stuff honestly. another in the "good cooking music" folder
a four. this was enjoyable enough, not what I expected going into it. rock lobster is kind of an earworm.
i like it, i like Aimee mann, but this is very clearly not her best work.
i really loved this. it felt very nostalgic/rustic, great sound.
ehhh, unmemorable
i hadn't given this album a real shot before this - i kinda thought it would be mediocre, but it was pretty damn good. not on the level of loveless of course but still great. it's kinda difficult for me to rate shoegaze albums because as long as the album is good I kind just sink into the feeling but I think a five is in order.
no.
far too long, but generally good.
he's kinda just the employee
not the type of music I enjoy. got pretty boring
it's good, just like the other simon and garfunkel album, but it just didn't hit as hard. a little more forgettable.
I think it was actually better than I expected. the higher end of three but ultimately still unmemorable
better than the two white stripes albums we've had, i think. more broadly enjoyable.
two stars for the fact I didn't get into it at all. not bad, but just not good.
absolutely unbearable
it didn't really stand out -I 've heard better punk music - but it wasn't bad either.
I agree with Owen in that the last song is a bit awful lyrically, but regardless the album created a nice atmosphere and Sade has a nice voice
inoffensive jazz stuff but not great. good to do menial tasks to, but not good listening.
i think i like the more polished sound a little better than live through this. really great album, easily five stars, everything i liked about live through this and a little more.
yeah, not my thing
ok, i'm not listening to 20 songs of this. not happening. it's alright for the first few but this ain't good.
save for a few great songs, this album is mostly alright. i liked the sound but it got a little old.
