I don’t want to be curmudgeonly and genuinely go into every album assuming I’ll enjoy it but in the pantheon of pop music I’m really at odds as to how this album made it to the list. For the most part it’s bland oversimplified musicality and woeful woeful lyrics leave me feeling deflated. The singles on this album are bops and there’s one decent Ballard towards the end but all in all I came away from the experiance thinking less of Taylor Swift. Lorde or Miley Cyrus made better pop albums in this era just to name two alternative examples. If I could have a decimal rating it would gain an extra 0.5 for ‘style’ and ‘shake it off’ but otherwise it deserves the 1 rating.
