The sound of 90s grunge, rough voice that soars, the heavy riffs and that solid kick drum that keeps you nodding or atomping along through the entire album. A classic 90s sound. Never listened back in the day but will be adding it into rotation.
For some reason I always assumed Jethro Tull were a heavy band. Today I learned they're actually a medieval seventies band. Colour me pleasantly surprised.
Appreciate the bluesy twang, an album to relax to. I didn't mind it, but very whiny voice with a lot of harmonica. Didn't appreciate the line about "5 & 10 cent women" that inplied sex workers have nothing in their head.
Good fun, but not a relisten album for me.
Couldn't listen to the album on Spotify, but the song I did hear was fun. Gonna keep an eye out for this one on vinyl.
I grew up listening to this album. It'll always have a special connection for me. A slower movong album that was still able to hold my attention as a kid.
First time listen, enjoyed it and can totally see all of the inspiration it was for things to come. Really liked Tennesee
I've never heard of this band before. I really enjoy their sound. Gives me Cat Empire vibes
Decided to give this album a listen in spite of not being enthusiastic about Bowie. Really enjoyed the jazz influence on the first track. I can't see the hype in the overall album, but maybe it would grow after a few listens.
I bought a secondhand copy of Licenced to Ill, it was my first time in Red Eye Records during my first expedition through Sydney as an adult. I loved this album. The beats hold up, the cow bell makes me smile. However the lyrics haven't really stood the test of time. Gave this one a double listen.
Reminded me a little of irish music. Wasn't a huge fan.
I loved this album in in it's day. It holds up but isn't one I'd have on high rotation
I enjoyed this album the further I made it through the tracklist. Was the perfect soundtrack to a lunchtime walk through the city
Thoroughly enjoyed this. A little kooky in parts.I think I like progressive rock?
This is a great album. Growing up we had Cyndi's "A Night to Remember" album as a staple. This album holds up and I had multiple listens.
I need to watch this movie.
There's only so mamyof these 70's bands I can listen to. Nicely crafted, I hear Bowie,The Doors, The Beatles, Jethro Tull, Creedance Clearwater Revival and so many other 70's influences in this. Not sure who influenced who, but it's all in here.
I could only hear one song on this album. But I'm kinda glad. I'm a little bit over these 70s albums
Could only listen to one song.
Paul's Boutique feels like a follow up album where they tried more bells and whistles on their original sound. I'm not sure if I think that because it sounds different to Licence to Ill and I'm so attched to that album.
Loud, preferred the Iggy versions.
This album takes me back. The year I finished high school.
Faaaark yes, really enjoyed this album. Going to try and find it on vinyl.
Great album for a sunny afternoon at home.
I've never been fond of a live recording. I love a studio album, or to be in a live crowd. I did like the instruments in this
Fun. Knew more of it than I realised.
What a decade. Enjoyed this.
Rock'n'roll bb. I wasn't in the mood, but this made me feel like I was in the early 90's/late 80's
This was gorgeous, but the piano felt a little repetitive towards the end of the album. Can't believe I thought Avril was better than this back in the day.
I went in with an open mind wanting to like this but it was a bit too heavy for me.
Rock'n'roll band that I've never heard of. Really enjoy the keyboard. An all over the place album, but not in a bad way, I get rock'n'roll, ska, funk Nd punk throughout this.
I fucking loved this. Listened on the way to Bean's birthday dinner and then again this morning. I want this on vinyl!
I tried, but I couldn't get into this. Definitely talented, but I'm not super into certain kinds of folky stuff and unfortunately this fell into that category.
yummmmm. loved this album when I discovered it in my mid twenties while living in Moranbah. Love the organ in this one.
Yesssssssssss, disco. Love Nile Rogers
I grew up listening to The Rolling Stone, but not this album. It's ok, but nothing special.
Could never get into The Beatles
What an album. Fucking love it. Always have.
Always forget I really like R.E.M.
CCR are played in every movie set in (or with a flashback to) the Vietnam War
I only love The Rolling Stones I grew up listening to with my mum and sister
I enjoy The Flaming Lips but not as much as those who REALLY enjoy The Flaming Lips, leaving me like I'm missing the point. Either way, this was pretty good.
Not into this. It's overdone.
I've only listened to the first two albums from The XX. I absolutely flogged them. This started out a bit more upbeat and then really settled in to what I remember from them. The vocal work is dreamy and reminded me why I was so into their first albums.
The piano in the first track, wish it carried all the way through. I've enjoyed The Doors since my mid-twenties when I moved to Moranbah.
Got off to a slow start, but really enjoyed it by the end of the album.
