xx
The xxSounded good just not my style. Very thematic/atmospheric. Intro was cool, wish there were vocals in it.

Knights of Cydonia vibes with the first song. Very old school western sounding influences, cool sounding. Songs are all a little samey, but overall I enjoyed listening.
Super strong album, every song is pretty unique and super enjoyable to listen to. Biased since I've listened to Steely Dan a lot before but never an album front to back. Was nodding along to almost every song.
Going into this only knowing one song from the album (Heroes) I was a little disappointed by the rest of the song. I was working a bit on my computer so maybe need to give it another focused listen. Split between three and four stars for this, might sadly have to do three but Heroes carries the album.
Strong start, felt like second half was weaker. 3.5
I liked the soulful slower songs, a lot of stuff that broke from the harder rock idea I initially had of LZ.
Split between 3 and 4, think I'll go 4. I really enjoyed the bluesy influences. Downside was JM's voice on some of the tracks, I get the raw sound but it wasn't always sonically pleasing. Still enjoyable and unique
Really enjoyed it, good mix of experimental and more original Beatles style songs.
Listenable but nothing that really jumps out at me
Solid songs, not my style but can’t argue with the strength of her voice.
Split between two and three. Overall less re-listenable to me than Heroes and the XX but better than B-52. Also learned that Not Fade Away is originally by them. Pretty cool.
Didn't really do much for me, not a huge new wave fan.
Is not longer available on Spotify, was unable to listen to it
All songs super listenable and strong. Only knew 2 or 3 hits before this, glad to have listened to whole album.
Mellow listening, some enjoyable parts, but nothing I'd come back to.
Solid jazz, enjoyed the organ but got a little monotonous with the one instrument
Never heard of him before, really enjoyed. Acoustic rock? I don't know how I'd classify this music
Very solid jazz
Decent, can't really see myself going back to it though
Still haven't been able to listen fully after a 2 months....not a fan. All sounds samey with no riffs or lyrics that really draw me in
Really enjoyed, heroine, the asphalt world, and new generation were some that stuck out more.
decent, I like What's Going on a lot more
ehh mixed bag for me. I think fear of a black planet is better. Some of the samples were pretty grating sounding to me
Multiple times looked down at my phone to see how much time was left in a song. Repetitive riffs and vocals weren't my style.
nothing special, sort of basic 60s pop in my opinion.
Decent album, like heads will roll ofc. Not sure I’d come back to many other songs
Solid rnb, right around 3. Some a little slow for my liking but depends on mood
Nothing that really stuck out, but no skips or songs I hated
Not a huge fan of the vocal style. Would put it slightly above the previous albums I rated as 2. In hindsight those were closer to 1s for me and this is more a 2.
Hotel California Hotel California Hotel California Hotel California Hotel California Hotel California Hotel California Hotel California Hotel California Hotel California Hotel California Hotel California Hotel California
Really good album
Listenable and fun
Fun and was groundbreaking but a bit repetitive
Top 3 Pink Floyd album, great solos, transitions are unmatched. Always a great listen
Really tough one for me, I respect the originality of this and how influential it is. Yet the whole British 90s electronic, drum and bass, etc doesn't have a huge appeal to me. Maybe something that I'd rather experience in person, feel like it would be much better then. Gonna go for 2, feel like this is a 2.5/5 for me
Really good, loved the mix of big band and slow songs
Enjoyed it
My favorite of the new wave style albums so far. Lot more variety in the instrumentals and melodies.
Reminded me slightly of the Roni Size album, enjoyed this more though. Some songs definitely gave off a Fatboy slim feel. Solid 3
Really enjoyed this, sort of an introduction to this genre for me. Super unique artist, gonna listen to him some more. 4.3/5
Listening to this I'm really split between giving a 3 and a 4. The more albums I listen to on the more I wish this scale went from 1-10. I'd put this at like a 3.8 3.9/5 rn. Idk if this would be called new wave or what but I’m enjoying chilling and listening to it.
4.3 probably my 2nd or third favorite Kendrick Lamar album. No skips, great songs
Enjoyed it but nothing that will really bring me back to it.
Yeah not a huge fan of this. like it better than the other ones I've rated 2 but not as much as most of my other 3 rated songs. sorry Roxy music. Definitely some alright songs tho
Close to a five, just felt like it got a little weak in the second half before the final songs boosted it. Really great album though
Enjoyed it, good for listening when working. Not anything that really jumped out
Really enjoyed it. Have to listen to more RS albums front to back rather than greatest hits.
Really split on this. Liked it more than most 3s but less than most 4s. 3.5. Some catchy songs. Probably will round up or down reviews from now so this is a 4.
Good listen, have to check out more of their music. Liked the 1st half a bit better. The covers were all fun
Nothing I disliked but nothing that really stuck out to me. Easy to listen to but all songs sounded pretty similar and sort of blended together.
solid listening, liked the first half better. A little slow and repetitive, keeping it as a 3 for me. 3.5
Great album but gotta admit his voice isn't very good. I also like highway 61 and bringing it all home more
Just not a fan of new wave. Between 2 and 3. Repetitive. Sweet dreams song is classic though
Obviously a legendary album, but aside from the iconic songs from it like Folsom prison blues, cocaine blues, Jackson and a few new (to me) ones like the wall it wasn't anything crazy. 3.4
Easy listenin
I enjoy jam style, but maybe more conventional? Phish and dead, basic I know. This was good but didn't feel the same emotions listening to it as the other bands I mentioned. When everything came in on the first song it was great though. As well as Easy Money. 3.5
Another one where I'm split between 3 and 4. gonna go 4 with this, she has a great voice and this had a good amount of unique and solid melodies
Awesome, no skips. Haven't heard any of these before was a great first blind play through
Not familiar with him before this, really enjoyed this album. Unique song, mix of acoustic with some synth/electronic. powerful subject matter too
Enjoyable listen
So close to a five, just felt some of it was a little too "lyrical spiritual individual" style rapping. Really enjoyed this tho, was nodding my head along to almost every song
Started really strong but somewhat lost interest midway through. 3.5 though. solid album
Well wanted to hate it but then I kind of liked it? mixed feelings, was good to listen to in background. 3.5
Fun listen
Willie
Solid listening very chill. 3.5
Started solid then really started to drag
Solid
I like Metallica a lot, but man this keeps going and going and going with a very similar sound
Enjoyable listen but nothing that I’ll come back to
Liked it a lot more than most other new wave. Melodramatic, reminded me a bit of dogmanstar. Pleasant surprise. 3.7
Really fun variety
Some classic songs on it but not anything crazy as a whole album to me
