While I recognize the impact of the arrival of Tom Petty, I just can't stand his voice.

top ten all time

not a huge fan of the spare 'guitar and drums only' sound

i'm not an edm fan, per se, but it was an enjoyable example of that genre

I only know of the Beastie Boys from their hits, but I loved the clear influences of funk and jazz on this album.

I still think Purple Rain is his best.

Never heard the album before, but had heard many of the songs and I can tell the waves of influence it had over many artists. But after about half a dozen songs, they all started sounding the same.
