Phil Specter's brand of sugary pop music combined with christmas music is really a magical combination that was made to be. The perfect way to have a fun, classy christmas album. A
Possibly the best jazz album ever made, it's one of those albums where there is this like "11/10 sheen" that I stumble upon in albums with super high ratings. It's a suite with some of the best big band playing ever recorded. Waves of saxophones and trumpets.
Their first album to really be worth listening to, even if a lot of the tracks are not very good. B
Step up from the last album, the single here is obviously absurdly good, and there are still plenty of other synthy soul tracks. B
More intense and faster than the debut with seemingly endless memorable song elements. A+
Probably her best album, it's shorter than previous album that had some big highlights but lulls after the A-Side, but this one keeps it shorter and is consistently great. A
This is respectable old school punk fused with modern alternative rock trends and production to make something radio friendly yet full of edge. However, I will rate it low from hearing it a lot as a kid. C
Well made 90s art pop, uses a lot of elements from old school chamber jazz music in order to differentiate itself. B
One of the most unique albums ever made. Masterpiece of psychedelic guitar music, half the songs are stuck in my head. A+
I haven't listened to this in 9 years. Really lush poppy music with emotion. There's a lot of earwormy parts of this album too which is a weakness for me. Probably a masterpiece. A
Besides the singles this is pretty boring. But the singles are good enough I will rate it high. B
Wow okay, this has amazing songwriting, best of their career and it's even jazzier than the last album, it even has Wayne Shorter on it. A+
Not as experimental as the last album, but pristine, big sounding pop with plenty of artfulness. A+
Has three good songs, and the rest suck. Terrible sound, even on mono, which is apparently much better than the stereo sound. Perhaps a compilation with just the singles by this band is worthwhile. D
More of the last album, perfectly produced rock, but it lacks the things that make their earlier or later albums masterpieces. B
Timeless progressive soul + funk. Complex and catchy with atmosphere and spirit. A
More like the last album, sublime blues rock that moves between soft and hard. B
Creative dark folk rock in the vein of White Chalk with dark, grand lyricism. A
I'm a hater for this band and I can't even deny this album. Dazed & Confused is a perfect song. B
This has a flawless 45 minutes on it but about half of this is not very exciting folk ballads. I will rate it higher because some of the best songs I've heard are on here. A
Not quite as good as Nevermind, but it's more consistent and is their harshest sounding album. Amazing closer. A
Amazing album that transcends genre. A+
Pretty good for 70s punk, has some hits on it, similar to the rolling stones but more raucous. C
It's really interesting how this is their longest album and also their most consistent. Their early discography is just extremely inconsistent albums, then last album is pretty consistent and while it is better than this one, this is completely worth listening to the whole way through. An artist who put out 30 minute albums with skips has a double album without any. A
This is their best album to this point. The B-Side falls off however, but the A-Side stands up to Rubber Soul. B
I didn't like this too much before, but since then I have grown an appreciation for clean vocals in metal. This takes sludge metal and fuses it with a radio friendly production to create alternative metal that still has atmosphere and grit to it. The vocals are honestly kind of incredible in this album, they do more for this album than the vocals on most pop albums, and the guitar works with them perfectly. A+
Amazing live album, the last track is obviously mind melting, but there is high energy and great playing the whole time. A
This is just as good as his older masterpieces, but in a different style. A
Not as good as their first album but pretty good. B
Has two undeniable hits, the rest of this sounds like a David Bowie album but not as good. Some of the songs are not that good and go over 6 minutes long. I will rate this higher than it deserves for the singles. B
It's good, but I don't love it or connect with it. It's basically Billy Joel but not as good. C
This is like an evil Frank Sinatra. A
Not as good as Dume, which features intense noisy versions of a lot of these songs, but still a career high for him, his best songwriting and best playing. A+
Anthemic, big songs combined with sentimental ballads. Not his best, but the singles are some of the best in his career. A+
Not bad, but this is mostlly background music. The first track was pretty good, but it has a 3 minute outro for no reason. D
Pinnacle of classic hip hop. A
This is close to Discipline by Kc, had no idea Robert Fripp is the guitarist in Heroes. The B-Side is not as strong as the A-Side, he is doing like Low, but the ambient tracks aren't as good here. It's not as good as Low, but almost as good and one of the best rock albums. A
This is amazing, this is like the Beatles with as much swag as possible. A+
This is their Sgt. Pepper, a concept album with their best songwriting till that point, full of career highlights. A+
Fun and bouncy acoustic rock music. B
The A-Side was pretty good, but after that point is falls off, feels like mostly filler. C
More consistent than the the first album, but it doesn't match all of it's peaks. B
Better produced and noisier than the last album. B
Probably the best pure garage rock album, strong singles, but unlike most hard rock albums from this era, the whole album is actually good. Deserves to be celebrated. B
Okay, this one is her best album, while some of her later albums have more interesting arrangements, having jazz elements and whatnot, this has the strongest songwriting of her career, all the songs are very sharp and better produced than the previous albums. A
Sublime, funky jazz music with a spacey sound. A
This is one of the least accessible mainstream rock albums I have heard, this is like accidentally avant-garde. Just percussion and talking vocals with guitar twangs once every thirty seconds. I have no idea why they made this, most of the songs sound like bizarre parodies of Bob Dylan and I cannot identify why it's supposed to be enjoyable, terrible production that buries the instruments as well. F
Pretty good 90s electic hard rock. Diverse pallete of subgenres.
It's an alright studio session but they're just jamming out some instrumental covers. C
This is a lot better than I expected, the production really carries it and it has some strong singles. Like Yeezus but different. C
One of his best albums with some of the best pop/rock songs of the entire 80s. A
This kinda sounds like 90s Prince but more boring.
