I'm convinced that men who dislike Taylor Swift either have no music taste or are trying to overcompensate for something. Swift is indisputably a phenomenal singer, songwriter, and performer and while her music might not be everyone's favorite it's hard to deny the sheer number of bangers on this album. Out of curiosity I ran some numbers, and compared to The Beatles' own Abbey Road - the highest rated album on this website, Swift's 1989 pulls over FOUR BILLION more impressions (yes with a B). That is almost two and a half times the number of listens as Abbey Road, with five less songs, and an average 550 *million* listens per song. Hell, the least listened to song, This Love, has more impressions than 70% of Abbey Road. I like the Beatles. I would say I like them more than T Swift on a regular day. That being said, this album is still a 5 due to the sheer number of bangers that permeate today's modern culture. tl;dr Swift is good. She might not be your favorite, but you can't deny the good vibes.
Good cronch. Made me want to listen to some Cage the Elephant after.
Radio. Head.
Never heard of Sparks before. Started out confused, it bagan to grow on me, then the vocals got annoying
Can confirm that it is, in fact, a garden of sound.
I'm a fan of Marvin Gaye, but felt this album got a bit old as it went on.
Mans was only 22. Whack. Gritty, crass, and one of the best hip hop albums of all time.
Don't mind SZA in this album. I like the soul/ R&B vibe. That being said, I'm not a big fan of some of the featured artists, such as Kendrick Lamar's verses in Doves in the Wind.
I meeeeean. Shit's iconic. Not a huge fan of multiple songs per track, even if the transitions are good. 5/5 songs 4/5 album layout
I recall enjoying Rage when I was younger, but couldn't get into it now. There are many good parts of the album, but are surrounded by too much discord for me to truly enjoy it.
Some decent mid aughts pop.
Only familiar with School's Out from this album, but it showed a surprising amount of variety for such a small album. Not bad.
Not a huge fan of it myself, but I recognize it's legacy. Without TLC we wouldn't have the likes of Destiny's Child today. Also, what's with all of the interludes?
Bowie dipping his toes into soul. Good stuff.
Solid classic rock. Hard to go wrong.
Album art had me prepared for some weirdness. And that it was. Also apparently something that I thoroughly enjoyed. This is the kind of stuff I was hoping to get out of the 1001 Albums experience. Strange eclectic music from an artist that I never would have stumbled upon without some guidance. Good shit.
Good chill music. Didn't really stand out to me, but was enjoyable.
Wow this album art looks wacky. No idea what I'm in for here. JAZZ! JAZZ is what I'm in for. I'm here for jazz. I like jazz. But this, wow. This is a bit much. I recognize the chops required for this avant-garde style of music, and it is impressive, but boy howdy is it not for me.
Decent mid 2000s alt-rock. I gave it another listen over the weekend and it grew on me.
Wasn't terrible, but I kept finding myself wanting to put something else on, which is a problem when your album is only 37 minutes long. Plus, Morrissey is a certified douche canoe.
Grew up with Bob Dylan, but was never a huge fan of his voice. That being said, not bad.
Yes
An album that is heavily inspired by Lynyrd Skynyrd, as they mention the band at least 50 times throughout the thing. Not bad, but I'd honestly just listen to Lynyrd Skynyrd at that point.
I'm a fan of Van Morrison, and even though I don't often seek out his stuff this deserves a spot on the list.
Groovy. A mainstay disco album.
Not really my vibe, but not terrible. If it came on I probably wouldn't try to change it.
Reminds me of going to local open jams at jazz clubs. Good vibes.
First time listening to a Byrds album. Some decent folk psychedelic rock.
Ahhh Fatboy Slim. Made popular by Rockafeller Skank, which is unfortunately the only standout song on the album. Many of the songs feel like a 15-30 second clip replayed on loop for 6 minutes. Not necessarily offensive, but it gets old pretty fast.
The Clash is another band I never got around to listening to. I dig it.
I've heard a lot about Neil Young and Crazy Horse, especially with the drama about Trump using their stuff without permission. Good blusey rock with a bit of country/folk twang.
Ah the Beatles. There's something special about music made in this time period. It's a time before producers started throwing effects on every track to "spice it up." Can't go wrong with some good mixing and mastering.
I was really hoping to like this album. I know of Jeff Buckley primarily through his cover of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah (as most people probably), though the album never really clicked with me.
100% certified bangers. I remember this album being in my parent's vinyl collection and thinking the art was neat.
I remember thinking this album was great when I was much younger, but nowadays it just doesn't quite work for me. The general vibe of the album feels very dated, and while some songs are decent, many others seem to fall flat.
It's impossible to have a bad time while listening to Abba.
It might be country, but at least it's not cuntry. Classic western shit.
Was decently surprised by this album. Good guitar parts, harmonies, and solid vocals to boot. I dig it.
Nina Simone is one of the great jazz vocalists. The fact that this album is made from leftovers from other albums is astonishing.
Good vibes classic rock. A disappointing lack on undead, but the vibes made up for it.
Not terrible, but every track just feels like it's missing something. Also just not a fan of the general mix on this album.
Clearly shows why Miles Davis is one of the best. I also really enjoyed John McLaughlin's guitar parts in this.
It's a bit of a marathon at just over 2 hours long, but it delivers some great tunes and showcases George's masterful songwriting.
Yo. I thought I had never heard of this mans and then I'm hit with that one song from the movie Holes (Honey) right off the bat. Runs into the same issue as Fatboy Slim though, where it's just the same 10-15 second clip looped for minutes at a time. Many songs could have been half the length and I would have honestly been happier with the result. Makes for decent background music at least.
I don't get it. The backing tracks are lackluster and I've heard better vocals at college karaoke bars. The only positive was All My Friends, and the fact that the rest of the album was forgettable enough to not leave a lasting impression.
I've honestly never been a huge fan of The White Stripes. I mean, they're alright, but they're just not for me.
The sound of a man progressively losing his voice during a late night bender. Stop shouting Tom, you're just making it worse. I like me some Tom Waits, but this one isn't doing it for me.
Strange band name. Eccentric lyrics. 80s. Groovy.
Groovy little album. Half of the songs hit, while the others are just meh.
Makes for some great tunes to listen to while shooting bugs in Helldivers.
Never been a huge fan of Jeff Beck. It's not terrible but not my jam.
Never been the biggest fan of punk, but this isn't bad.
"The" iconic Queen album. 5/5 Regular listening 4/5 Shooting bugs
It's hard not to like Queen.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs is a solid little band. They do a lot with their small group of 3, but due to a lack of hands it always makes one wanting something more. One more instrument, one more texture, one more layer, one more sound. It's just *missing* a little something interesting.
Not terrible, but definitively background music.
Again never been a huge fan of Punk. However, this album in particular doesn't even work for shooting bugs. I hesitate to call the first three tracks songs, and I couldn't bring myself to enjoy a single moment of the others. Disappointing. Annoying. Get out of my ears.
Middle of the road. Don't hate it, don't love it. Not something I'll seek out, but won't act to turn it off.

I remember growing up playing Star Wars Battlefront while listening to AC/DC. Album still rocks.
Decent, but nothing to write home about.
Sheryl Crow is one of those musicians that I never understood the massive following for. Is her music bad? No. But it does all sound meh.
Sexy. Horny. Gaye. Marvin knows how to funk.
The quintessential Prince album loaded with a bunch of bangers.
Imagine is one of the most iconic songs of all time. That being said, the album is just kinda meh? I'll admit that John is my least favorite of the Beatles.
An album made by fish, for fish. Not for human consumption.
Wasn't sure how to feel about this album starting out, but it has grown on me. I dig it.
This album is so 80s and I love that for it. Unfortunately, while it starts out great it quickly gets a bit boring.
The only good thing to come out of incest.
Chill, dreamy, but relatively samey.
One of Billy Joel's best albums, hard to go wrong.
I love me some Duran Duran. Bunch of bangers on this album, but a few that drag it down. Good listen.
