Solidly enjoyable end to end.
Needs listening to again.
Once in a Lifetime is the only thing that jumped out on first listen (and I've heard that one before).
I like this a lot. Very varied and the instrumentation is interesting.
Here I Am - Carole King vibes
Early Morning Breeze - if you stripped it down would sound like something from the Hylics soundtrack
Earlier tracks remind me of the Japanese Folk/Country duo(?) Humbert Humbert who I love.
SOme bits remind me of Candypants too (the Album with the singer from The Stool Pigeons))
Solid vibe.
Would probably love this if I heard it as BGM for a videogame or something.
Otherwise kinda boring though.
Perfectly fine.
Not my favourite renditions in the genre.
Nice and varied.
Some standout tracks but would need another listen to see if anything catches.
Felt too long for what it is.
Interesting sad boy vibes.
Nice and varied. Nothing caught me on first listen.

Some fun lyrics - satirical or snide in an entertaining way.
Pretty good musically.
A bit too country-croony.
Pretty boring. Couple of nice instrumental tracks with piano.
My least favourite of the 'country' albums we've been served so far.
Nothing here caught me... easy listen though.
At the start I thought I was going to like this more than I did, but the good material is spread kind of thin. Overall I'm still kind of bored by this style of rock - I don't know much about it but maybe the production is just outdated?
Has its moments
Before: I already know I will like this.
After: Yeah I loved that. Dreamy, dramatic. Needs more listens to see what sticks.
Good!
Fast but mellow acoustic guitar - sounds like finger-picking?
All good, with 2 or 3 highlight tracks.
Good, but not my vibe.
Wasn't sad when it ended and Spotify autoplayed into Carole King.
Enjoyed. Sure it would grow on me with further listens.
Love the first track and I think the last two were alright.
Not a lot else of interest.
Katy Kirby vibes.
Sludgefest, The Lung, Tarpit, Just Like Heaven all good.
Love this.
Solid grungy The Pillows/Guitar Vader vibes.
Fun!
Highlights:
Like a Prayer
Express Yourself
Keep it Together
Last track is funny too!
Liked this a lot! Maybe my favourite Talking Heads so far.
First track only good track
Last track was alright.
All rather boring to me otherwise.
Pretty good. Never knew what an 'Elvis Costello' was or sounded like before.
Heavier than I expected at the start especially.
Liked the intro track, Alison and some of the other bits - maybe Miracle Man, Less Than Zero, Mystery Dance
Wholly enjoyable.
Not quite the first 5/5 for me, I reckon. Needs something a bit more personally appealing for that.
All just sounds like Fairytale of new York to me and I'm quite tired of hearing that.
Nothing really jumped out to me in the first half but then there are parts which really strongly remind me of Japanese Breakfast - a couple of songs I could easily imagine her covering.
Sadly the vocal performance and the music/poduction doesn't come off as strong to me. Might just be the age? Might need listening to again.
I like this. Very heavy.
A little bit of Portishead, Goldfrapp, some Jaurim vibes in the intersection of heavy rock and ambience.
Sometimes close to Screaming Females.
Very good.
Reminds me of some of the Rainbow live recordings.
Fun, funky, guitars. Like.
Front half surprisingly decent.
The well-known tracks are in the middle and I do not enjoy them.
Back half miserable.
Not typically been a big fan of Gorillaz but enjoyed this. 2Mello/JSR vibes.
Surprisingly enjoyable, quirky, chill.
Not as bad as I expected but only a couple of songs I particularly appreciated.
Pretty fun and upbeat for the genre.
Femme fatale film noir smoky bar vibes.
Angstier than I expected, which is a good thing.
Few dreary songs. Few standouts.
Some interesting sounds, a couple of standout tracks, but largely as dull and dreary as my little exposure had led me to expect.
Pleasant-sounding but boring.
Pleasant background noise but a bit boring to me.
Liked this a surprising amount.
Easy listening, smooth, rolling, interesting lyrics from what little I caught.
A clear influence on Danny Schmidt, who I've listened to in the past.
Like this a lot.
Lots of layers and repeating patterns to keep my stupid brain busy.
Starts strong and energetic, then peters out.
The opening track is okay.
I enjoyed I Want to Take You Higher and Everyday People a lot more.
It's fine I guess, just a bit bland.
There are tons of other artists doing more interesting things lyrically, vocally, musically.
The title track is of course the standout.
The rest is maybe a bit too abstract and experimental for me.
Pretty good.
First half is stronger.
Enjoyed The Thrill Of It All, Out Of The Blue, Triptych, and Prairie Rose.
Big early 2000s vibes.
Enjoyable but way too long and samey.
First track and maybe one of the others stood out... I think it was Emotion I enjoyed.
This was really boring for me. Uninteresting, bot catchy, and samey end to end. Might be the most songs I've had to skip in any of these albums so far.
For once I think the most well known song on the album is actually the best.
Led Zeppelin's in the sphere of music I usually love, but it's maybe a bit too blues and a bit too shouty for me, without much unique to pull it back.
There's some great riffs on here - noted in Good Times Bad Times, Babe I'm Gonna Leave You, Communication Breakdown, and How Many More Times.
Other tracks I hated - Your Time Is Gonna Come is too repetetive, and You Shook Me is miserable.
Lyrics is a big deal for me also, and the only thing I really remember from this album is him crooning 'Woman' over and over.
I like this. I already knew I enjoyed bold 80s sounds, but this has a surprising amount of musical interest beyond that. Don't remember which song it was but there were some really cool bass riffs in the mix.
Not my genre. Surprisingly enjoyable.
Laid back, mellow, some silly, playful lyrics.
Check the Technique and Lovesick were highlights.
Album too long and samey though.
Also Jojo
As a casual Frank Sinatra enjoyer I really liked this.
Very good background music for mooching around the house doing chores, relaxing, reading a book - just has that homely vibe.
I loved this.
I've never consciously listened to The Cars before so I had no real basis, but expected a bit more mellow synthy stuff. Surprised by how heavy this is.
I recognised the start of a bunch of the songs but they all developed in interesting ways and I could never predict where they were going.
It's okay. Not as good as Painkiller. Too clean.
Steeler was fun.
Bored me to tears. It all sounds the same.
I thought I was going to be pleasantly surprised during the first song, but no. I had to skip the second or third song too.
Solid industrial metal. Will return to this.
Kinda feels like a heavier variant of some of FZero's tracks.
I really enjoyed this. The mix is unusual - really thin so that the bass stands out a lot. Fun album. Will listen again.
Solid. Heavy. On the periphery of my taste.
Highlights are Up the Neck and Brass In Pocket.
Very enjoyable.
Not sure I'd come back to it though.
This was great. Yours Is No Disgrace, Starship Trooper, and I've Seen All Good People, all really enjoyable and varied songs with a lot of what I love in their other work.
Close to the Edge remains my favourite album though.
As a fan of other metal, but not being familiar with Metallica, I don't think I can make it through this whole album.
It's fine—good even—but all very samey.
Decent. Didn't really grab me - all a little samey maybe. I think it's the vocals that bother me.
Enjoyed this, but needs a re-listen to see what sticks.
More varied than I expected!
It's okay. Unique sound. Gets less interesting as it progresses.
Bones of You is probably the best track for me.
Enjoyable.
Somewhere between Tubular Bells, BCNR, Jaruim, and Susumu Hirasawa.
This was fine.
Good energy but not that interesting to me.
Totally fine.
Enjoyable even.
Don't see what's interesting about it though unless there's some historical context I'm missing.
Decently heavy, but just a lot of generic 90s pop-rock really.
Really enjoyed this one.
Re-listed on a train journey the next day (ha) and enjoyed it just the same - same standout tracks Love Is Lost, Whera Are We Now, If You Can See Me, I'd Rather Be High, You Feel So Lonely You Could Die.
Loved this. Very fun.
Never thought I'd enjoy the song 'War'.
First track is a certified banger.
It all sort of fades into noise for me past that.
Pleasant enough, but uninspiring.
Take On Me feels so out of place on this Album.
One energetic hit with a really unique sound, followed by a lot of the similarly dreary songs. Inoffensive I guess.
Does what it's trying to do with a lot of gusto, but what it's trying to do isn't something I'm keen on.
Has one track that sounds a lot like Doogie White era Rainbow, or a hint of Rush.
Pretty good sound but nothing particularly caught me.
One of the tracks was far too country for my tastes.
Second to last one was really nice.
I always enjoy a grungy female-led rock and punk sound.
There are a couple of standout tracks on this for me, but overall I prefer the heavier sound of their 2000 album.
A decent foundation but this all bled together for me and nothing hooked me.
Voice at times reminds me of Sting or David Grohl.
Was this sound significant in its year?
Track 2 - Annoying child choir
Track 4 - Annoying high pitched warbling
Track 5 - Some stage show shit?
Track 8 - The only tolerable track so far - enjoyable rapping.
This album is too long
I give up
Really nice groove which is unfortunately fairly monotonous throughout.
The vocals/lyrics were less discernable and thereby less abrasive than Van Halen.
I don't think I'd return to this unless I was hosting a themed party or something.
Nothing caught my attention here.
Infinitely more listenable than the College Dropout, which felt like taking a wire brush to my eardrums.
Lyrics were pretty much what I expect from this genre and I could do without it.
Consistently quite musical and well produced, though I wouldn't come back to it.
Some bits I was like 'this is obviously supposed to be funny, I guess...'
