I always thought of myself of a fan of The National, but revisiting this album I was surprised to find myself incredibly bored. It did prompt me to listen to Trouble Will Find Me and still really enjoyed that one. Idk! Maybe their stuff is too similar and I feel like TWFM does it best.

Kinda shocked how much of this album was burned into my brain. Listened to it a lot in high school but it’s never one I’ve revisited at all. A couple undeniable bangers but nothing incredibly exciting!

as much as I'm a sucker for a pedal steel guitar, so much of this fell flat for me. I feel like others do country/rock better, even though the byrds seem like they were one of the firsts to do it. tbh I'm glad I listened to the rehearsal takes because I vibed with those way more, they felt much more textured and interesting. kinda funny reading that nashville was so against them because they had long hair when they literally have a whole ass song talking about how great jesus is. what a funny town!
so so so lovely. I love The Dangling Conversation so much, had it on repeat for awhile today. I love S&G. Randomly made me think a lot of Fleet Foxes early stuff so then I listened to Fleet Foxes for the rest of the day and that was nice :)

Such an undeniable legendary pop album. Listened to it twice today because I was having so much fun with it. Miss You Much is my fav I think, such a banger. I feel like Janet Jackson is often overlooked when talking about the greatest pop stars of all time, but you can see that a lot of what she did is in the DNA of many of the modern pop stars we love.

Tbh never heard of Suede before! Pretty solid album! Nothing I’d revisit often probably, might be basic to say but I’d much rather just put on Bowie instead of this

Incredibly interesting reading about Fela Kuti’s story. Really loved the album and I’m glad to have discovered it here!
Closer to a 4.5 - really loved this, there were some wild, psychedelic sounds happening. Would love to do mushrooms and listen to this while walking in a forest or something. Dr John seemed like a pretty interesting dude. I wanna go to New Orleans so bad!!!

Had a ton of fun revisiting this. I never listened to a ton of Green Day but I always loved this album and I think most of it holds up pretty well. I bet they felt so clever making two songs actually one song

Grew up passively listening to this album sooo much because my brother would listen to it all. the. time. There was a good couple of years where he would rotate between this and Pink Floyd’s The Wall every single day. So much of it has been burned into my brain but I still have never been a huge nirvana fan otherwise, so it was really interesting revisiting this on my own terms and actually really enjoying it!
Incredibly nostalgic for me and liked a good amount of it, but nothing I really connect with now and don’t think I would ever revisit
