Master Of Puppets by Metallica
Jun 26 2024

I’m not a metal fan. However, Metallica definitely set the bar for all things metal. My favorite track was Orion. While I personally probably not listen to the album, I certainly will add Orion to my listing in queue.

Eagles by Eagles
Jun 27 2024

Okay, I realize I've not listened to their debut album, or more likely I did at least once before but don't remember it. Outside of the three tracks that made the greatest hits album (Take It Easy, Witchy Woman, and Peaceful Easy Feeling), the others are so lackluster. Those three tracks, however, are amazing and were destined to be classics from the moment this album was released. I'm just surprised at how little I like any of the others. This is an album only worth noting for "first appearances" but not one that I'd want to keep in my playlist.

In A Silent Way by Miles Davis
Jun 28 2024

Jazz is a whole art in itself and one that I don't completely understand (yet). Part of it will be my high-frequency hearing loss I've had my entire life, which I suspect prevents me from getting the full experience as Mr. Davis intended. I rather enjoyed this and will rate it 4 stars because it is smooth.

Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness by The Smashing Pumpkins
Jul 02 2024

Hadn't really listened to a full album from TSP, but enjoyed this one. There are some really great tracks and high-energy songs. I'll definitely return to their music more down the road.

The United States Of America by The United States Of America
Jul 11 2024

So this is a good reason to be following this 1001 albums generator - discovering unique albums I would likely not discover otherwise. Reminiscent of the late 60s Beatles (in huge part b/c it was produced in 1968), The United States of America offered up a lot of great experimental and avant-garde tunes that I will likely return to hear again.

NEU! 75 by Neu!
Jul 12 2024

Whoa, this is a cool album. Never heard of this band before now but they are going onto my rotation.

Elvis Presley by Elvis Presley
Jul 15 2024

I suppose I should give it 4 stars but I'm just not a big fan of his music. Great and amazing voice for sure.

System Of A Down by System Of A Down
Jul 17 2024

I didn’t expect to enjoy this as much as I did.

Dusty In Memphis by Dusty Springfield
Jul 21 2024

I was blown away at how timeless this album felt. Dusty is who Taylor Swift aspires to be.

The Cars by The Cars
Jul 22 2024

Man, I’m not sure but I feel like The Cars set the stage for the 80s pop explosion about to happen. Love this album!

Since I Left You by The Avalanches
Jul 23 2024

Another good one! Lots of great tunes to get you moving.

More Specials by The Specials
Jul 26 2024

This is definitely another band worth checking out. Loved some of the tracks on here and am looking forward to listening to other albums.

1984 by Van Halen
Aug 06 2024

I had this on cassette back in the 80s and this is the first time I listened to it in well over 30 years. Love it!

High Violet by The National
Aug 08 2024

Big fan of The National here, but I confess I've not listened to this album. Loved it and will definitely add to my rotation! From my first listen, my favorite track is "Afraid of Everyone".

Guero by Beck
Aug 10 2024
Manassas by Stephen Stills
Aug 12 2024
Hunky Dory by David Bowie
Aug 13 2024

I don't listen to Bowie much, but really should. Glad this forced me to listen to a full album. I love his descriptive writing style and enjoy the music.

Dirt by Alice In Chains
Aug 14 2024
Sign 'O' The Times by Prince
Aug 25 2024

I admit I’ve not listened to Prince at all even though his music defined my generation. I’m surprised at his range, stylistically and thematically.

Dummy by Portishead
Aug 26 2024
Wild Gift by X
Nov 06 2024

80s kid here myself. An 80s classic album I never knew existed. Feels like I heard something from an alternate universe.

Fire Of Love by The Gun Club
Jan 13 2026

Love the raw energy on this album. Interesting mix of blues and punk that I’ve never really experienced.

Back To Black by Amy Winehouse
Jan 17 2026

I am honestly surprised by Winehouse's sound. I admit I never listened to her music though I heard so much about her. She sang with the sounds of old souls (Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday and Frank Sinatra) and I absolutely love her music. Will definitely return to this album and explore her other offerings.
