Renowned to be a dark album when Bob Dylan was going through a divorce. Having said that, some great songs. Tangled up in Blue is a great opener. There is an emotional punch to each song and it is one of Bob Dylan's most accessible albums.Bob Dylan will always be a marmite artist, given his style but this album warrants a listen and may just change people's minds.
To be honest this would not be a good to listen, but then I guess that this is what the app is all about. Quite chilled vibes for most of it and enjoyed having it as background to reading. Glad I discovered it through the app as it wouldn't have appeared on my radar at all.
An interesting change back to the original sound of the Cure but with more polish. I was never a Goth in the day but had a soft spot for The Cure and I think this album explains why.
Heart of Gold has to one of the greatest songs ever written. I have always loved Neil Young and Harvest is, rightfully so, considered as one of his greatest albums. I even stuck with him through his 80's use of the vocoder! Neil Young has always had a distinctive voice and many not like it but I think people cannot discount his wonderful songwriting talents.
As one of the previous reviewers said, this is an album for any occasion. I wonderful, laid back sound with a wonderful stereo mix that would equally at home as background music or music to be listened to carefully. I wonderful and accessible introduction to Miles Davis at his height
Amazing album. I must admit I haven't listened to this in a while. It sounds as fresh as ever! Every track has something about it.
Have never heard this album before. Initially ( given that I have no Icelandic!) it reminded me of shades of the Cocteau Twins. With its ambient soundscapes. Really enjoyable listen. Will turn lyrics on next time!
The came out when I was at university and it was a must listen. Side 2 ( yes it was on vinyl!) was a revelation and I remember listening to the various soundscaoes that Kate Bush made. I still regularly listen to this album and the layers still surprise me. I love to sit back and put my noise canceling headphones and lose myself in this wonderful album
One of the first albums i bought! Peter Gabriel's Melt (3) is an amazing album. Backed by his buddies, including Phil Collins and Kate Bush, Peter Gabriel has created an album of so many moods. From the truly scary Intruder ( gotta love that whistle at the end) to the yearning of Family Snapshot and rounding off the album with the anthemic Biko, this album never fails
I still have the vinyl and listen to it regularly!
Well it's an interesting album. Its ok but I don't think it's representative of the time. It's a pleasant sound and I feel that they really are on a hiding to nothing with all the comparisons to The Beatles. I appreciate that may have been the idea when they were created but it seems unfair to try to compare them I think they are talented musicians and songwriters but to me it is a lightweight and somewhat forgettable album.
What a great sound. Don't really know any Smashing Pumpkins music but love the solid sound of the guitars. A revelation and will certainly look out for more!
Well, not sure what i was expecting but it wasn't this! It was quite a revelation not being the sort of music I would listen to, I'm pleased to say I really enjoyed this album. I will listen to more!
It's very much of It's time. The synth sounds and the electronic drums. It was an interesting listen but I was never a big fan and this hasn't really changed my mind.
I remember listening to Brian Eno's ambient albums and this had a similar feel. It was slightly more accessible and the addition of David Byrne's influence was welcomed. An interesting, multilayer album for anyone willing to give it the time.
Great album! Right up my alley but one I've never listened to before. Not sure why Judas priest slipped through my listening arc. Will rectify that!
Really enjoyed this one only knew the hits and of course Nils Rogers work with David Bowie, but enjoyed the listen
Quirky and with a sense of humour. I remember when this came out ...same sort of time as The Kooks.. a period where this music fit in really well. Not my favourite but enjoyed it!
Second Chic album in the last 3 on the app...not my usual choice of listening but spent a pleasant 40 mins with this album
There are moments that i can hear how they influenced the likes of Talking Heads and those that followed. A great album from this post punk indie group
Great album. I believe it was one of the first Cds available commercially! The distinctive sounds goes throughout love it!
Mistakenly thought this was the singer...but pleasantly surprised at the jazzy sounds. A good listen
Loved the sweeping power chords of this post punk group. It's a first listen for me but I think i will revisit it at some other time..to get the most from it!
Amazing album! One from from my teenage years. Loved Martin Fry's gold lamé suit on Top of the Pops! Amazing sound, production. An epic album for the 80's...I'm right back there!
One of my faves! From the anthemic Peaches en Regalia to Willie the Pimp with Captain Beefheart, Frank Zappa shows he's a master of composition and orchestration! And a great guitarist to boot!
Loved it! Listened to it then and will continue to listen!
Amazing album. Of an an age with this classic
Great album. Peter Gabriel's most mainstream album. Great tunes
Listen to it...interested...not my 7sual listen..but then this is what this is all about...seems to be a very marmite album with either 5 star or 1 star! I'll give it 3. Interesting but not sure I'll listen again
Amazing prog rock album! The wonderful Robert Fripp's guitar sound. Ballsy and with so much variety. A favourite!
Great album but one of my least listened to Door's albums. Love J9m Morrison's vocals and that wonderful keyboard sound
Really enjoyed this one! Never heard of them before but will look out as they seem to be quite prolific
Loved this album. A complete unknown to me! Wonderful sound. A real find!
My Dad introduced e to Tangerine Dream. Have a soft spot for this prog rock electronica
One of my first albums and what an album...this was my growing up. An album that I feel i know note for note! The man was a genius
Amazing album. Prog rock at its finest and I believe it was Peter Gabriel's last hurrah with Genesis! A fitting end
Not sure about this one....may need another listen
Amazing sounds that brought Oasus to a wider audience. Whatever you think of the Gallagher brothers, this album is a powerhouse of top tunes
Interesting listen. I remember having this on MD many years ago. A sound of its time but still listenable
Not for me. Im sure there are many that would love this just not my cup of tea!
My youth!! Remember the girls all wanted to dress like them...of its time!
Not the album I expected but really enjoyed it!
Awesome! The Thin White Duke Lives!!
Amazing album full of raw energy!! Iggy at his finest!
Amazing album! Tunes that fuse rock and funk. Prince was a talented man!
Awesome! My teenage years in album format!
