Exile On Main Street
The Rolling StonesClassic Rolling Stones bluesy rock album.
Classic Rolling Stones bluesy rock album.
Classic. Recognizable. Harmony. Folk.
One of my favorite bands of all time. Only one really famous song. Two if you count Big Country. Still classic sound
Track 1 - bassline / guitar / synthline / harmonious vocals **** All Good People *** Classic prog-rock and enjoyable listen probably 4 stars
I don't listen to a lot of Springsteen and this was a new album for me, but was a good listen. I didn't give it a ton of attention, but it was enjoyable. Good songwriting, unique voice, classic rock sound.
Classic 50s sound. Very distinctive voice. Early rock pioneer.
Great artist with some great songs. Amazing talent but just not my jam.
I've always been a big fan of The Band and this has some of their classic songs. They have such a good sound and the album was a fun listen. I love the lyrics and the vocals.
Classic 00s rock album. Very distinctive sound - especially the vocals. Combined with the guitar, can tell a KoL song in like 2 seconds. I sometimes find that all of their songs tend to sound very similar. I like this but I can't come back to it that much.
Not my favorite Beatles album, but certainly a good one with some classic songs and a great overall sound.
A solid Americana album. Ryan Adams is a great songwriter and singer. There's a lot of his influence in some of the modern americana and indie folk bands that came after. This is probably his most well known album in terms of recognizable songs. Apparently he's kind of an a-hole in real life, which sucks.
I can respect Springsteen and enjoy his music but it's not really for me. This is a solid album and I remember when it was released following 9/11. There's the classic Springsteen sound and message. The Rising was a big hit at the time because of its message and timing. I was kind of surprised that "Waitin' on a Sunny Day" has more plays on Spotify. I can honestly say that I don't think I've ever heard this song before. It's a fine song but kind of unremarkable.
Yeah, not a fan of this. This is my first 1 star rating. It just sounds so dated and not innovative. I'm sure it was at the time, but it's like all kind of awful 80s synths and the Brit-boy singing. Not my cup of tea at all.
I get why David Bowie is considered a musical genius. He reinvented himself numerous times over the course of his career, was a huge influence on the culture, and an amazing performer. And this is a good album. I just feel like it's not really my thing and is not something I'd regularly come back to for a listen.
Classic early rock sound by a pioneer. My dad loves to sing Blueberry Hill, so that's a family favorite. Blue Monday is another classic tune. At least on Spotify, a lot of these tracks are not available.
A great album that has one big song but a lot of amazing songs by Dylan that highlight his song writing.
Such a good album from front to back. RIP Ozzy. Pretty sure this is going to get a huge bump in the ratings with everyone receiving it after his passing. So many classic songs. War Pigs is definitely underrated and might be the best song on the album.
This is a country album. I was kind of surprised because I was more familiar with them as a folk/rock band. But this is pretty much straight up old school country.
Probably the most well-regarded Paul Simon album. This is the one where he incorporates a lot of the different instrumentation, guest musicians, and African choir, etc. There are a few standout tracks - Graceland, You Can Call Me Al, Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes.
This is a fine early electronic album. I can put it on the background and groove out. It sounds well produced but a bit-dated in terms of sound now. That's to be expected given the evolution of electronic music, so fair enough. I would not seek this out but it was a good listen.
I'll start by saying that Axl Rose is a homophobic, racist, abrasive a-hole. Getting that over with, this is a great album. Axl's voice is still strong and rightfully legendary. The vocals meld so well with Slash's guitar playing, the rhythm section is really strong and the whole thing has an amazing vibe. I recall being in elementary school when this came out and some kids bringing it in -- it was an event. Sweet Child o' Mine still rocks and always will. Some of the other tracks...maybe deserve not to be known so well. They fell off with Use Your Illusion and then there's everything that happened after that, but this album is a classic.
Classic Rolling Stones bluesy rock album.
I like some Joy Division but I can't say that I love all of it.
Great afrobeat live album by the King.
Some really excellent and familiar songs on this album - Dancing Queen; Knowing Me, Knowing You; Money, Money; Money; Fernando. But, outside of those singles, it's not super memorable. And I can appreciate those songs but it's not an album I'd seek out except if I was DJing a wedding or something. Still, a classic.
Great jazz album
a really strong desert blues sound by THE man for this style.
one of my favorite albums ever. totally revolutionized music, imho. just amazing samples that are so obscure, great production, visionary work. 5 stars.
ok album. has a very recognizable song.
A tranformational album that totally changed music forever. On a re-listen, I'm struck by how many classic songs there are here, even the ones that weren't as commercially successful. Hard for me to rate this anything but a 5 considering its impact on music, quality, and that it was released during a pivotal time in my life.
Every song is strong, not just the ones that are more well known. Great lyrics, just an excellent album.
This is just not my thing. Early 80s disco influenced pop is a genre I could skip altogether.
One of my favorite albums of all time.
did not enjoy
I get the musicianship and skill but this is just not my style of rock
I just really don't like The Doors. I used to but something about the mix and the repetitiveness of lyrics. I just can't listen to them.
