Really enjoyed it but only a few songs stuck out so would be more likely to go back and listen to those singles than the whole album again
Distinctive sound but no real bangers. Nice enough
A classic for a reason. Really enjoyed it
Never listened to this before and enjoyed it enough to play it twice
This is an album of my youth so I went into it already knowing every word. Not listened to it in years and forgot how much I loved it. The earlier stuff they did is a bit shouty and then they suddenly released an album full of that same energy but with cool songs with melodies. Felt like I wanted to give it 5 stars but held back as I think some of that is just nostalgia 😂
Didn’t think I knew any deep purple but obviously the baseline to smoke on the water is iconic. Just really great rock music.
Another classic. Again influenced a lot by knowing this one so well already that I remembered most of the tracks. Would consider owning this one on vinyl, just lost me a bit on the final song.
Interesting to hear the original version of House of the Rising Sun and a nice voice but otherwise fairly forgettable folk music.
Another that’s a classic for a reason. A proper album where you listen to every song rather than a couple of singles and some filler.
Nice enough but none of songs were very memorable and I didn’t really connect with his vocals
Very pleasant. Feels like nice background music for a picnic but didn’t really make an impact on me
This it’s one of the albums ever present in my childhood so I know it very well and it was great to revisit.
Intelligent lyrics, great melodies, a variety of sounds, beautiful vocals, numerous songs which have stood the test of time all in one album.
Meh.
Groove is in the heart is a great single. Wasn’t sure why this album made this list and still don’t know. Started out ok but by the end I just wanted it to be over
Sounds like every warm up band I ever saw. Fine to bob along to but otherwise nothing that really engaged me
This feels more like what I was expecting from this list. A classic album that I’ve never listened to. I felt cooler the whole time this was on.
I would rarely choose to listen to instrumental music but actually quite enjoyed this. Enjoyed the vibe and felt like I should be on holiday with a cocktail rather than driving to Erdington
Very distinctive voice and I enjoyed it. Feel like I can’t give more than 3 to an album of mostly covers even though he did do his own thing with them
A proper rock opera with a full orchestra. Very long because it’s a whole concert rather than an album so a bit of an odd choice for this list but the music itself was impressive.
Blur have a reputation for being more of a singles band than an albums one. This does nothing to break that. Beetlebum and Song 2 are great but there’s also a lot of weird experimental sounds that didn’t need to make the final cut
Born in the USA and Dancing in the Dark are definitely the bangers but overall did enjoy the vibe of the rest of the album and might listen to it again
Iconic at the time and still some good tracks but the middle bit of the album blended into one
Lovely voice. Feel he’s just finding his unique sound with superstition. The rest are nice songs but don’t grab me in the same way
Feels like the background music of a film set in the 60s. Might have been better if I was taking LSD but I had work in the morning
A solid pop/rock album with some good singles but didn’t leave a lasting impact
A really great rock album with some absolute classics. The guitar riffs are some of the most iconic ever performed. Enjoyed the whole thing, not just the famous singles
Nice enough but the hits didn’t hit that hard for me and actually got quite bored towards the end of the album
I remember buying this album years ago and struggling to get into it. I did enjoy it more this time around but I still don’t find the songs stay with me
Partly felt too soon for more Bob Dylan. None of the tracks on this one really stood out for me and felt a bit long winded
It was kind of what I was expecting from a Bjork album. Lost me at times but do appreciate what she’s doing
Decent rock album. I wonder if this was revolutionary at the time and so many people followed suit that listening to it now makes it seem more middle of the road than it was?
Another genuine classic. This feels like peak Beatles. More interesting lyrics than she loves you yeah yeah yeah but before they were all on drugs and things got weird. Lots of memorable songs but tails off a bit at the end.
Felt very background music. Didn’t really grab me
Enjoyed this a lot. Found the whole thing very charming and really felt the vibe of the club
Quite enjoyed this but did find that the songs all sounded similar
I didn’t mind it. It ticked along nicely enough but I suspect more about the lyrics themselves than the vocal performance. One I’m unlikely to go back to
Enjoyed this a lot. Great depth of music. Mr Blue Sky is a classic and didn’t even realise they were a Birmingham band until the Birmingham Blues came on
Enjoyed it while it was on but quickly forgotten afterwards and unlikely to go back to it.
A fun little album. For some reason the vocals reminded me of Steve Martin singing the Dentist song from Little Shop of Horrors. Overall a good listen
Think I was expecting more from the Stones but this one didn’t really do anything for me.
Thought the only Van Morrison song I knew was Brown eyed girl, which wasn’t even on here. Ended up really enjoying the whole thing
I love her cover of the Beatles song Across the Universe and she has a beautiful voice but this album left me a bit cold
Didn’t mind this one while it was on but nothing very memorable
Fairly generic guitar band. Didn’t hate it but nothing stood out
Enjoyed the singles. The rest all blurred into one but enjoyable enough
Liked it but not as much as Californication. Still a distinctive Chilli Peppers sound and Give it Away is a banger
Not a band I’d ever heard of. Enjoyed listening to it but not a very distinctive sound and none of the songs have stuck with me
Good but not great. Dreaming of you stands out a mile as the best track but did still enjoy the rest
Weird. Just very weird
A very enjoyable album. Great voice. Would definitely go back to this again
This feels peak 80s but unfortunate that just isn’t my vibe so I appreciated it was a cool album but nothing really grabbed me
Not one I would ever have chosen to listen to but actually quite enjoyed and had realised they’d done the iconic Can I Kick It
Preferred the live album with the orchestra but still enjoyed this one
Pleasant enough but a bit dull
Would’ve said I didn’t know any Billy Joel other than Uptown Girl but this album felt very familiar and I really enjoyed it
Bopped along to this but not a new favourite
Decent guitar band. Didn’t change my life
This one does remind me of early Beck but I didn’t really enjoy it. Not enough musicality to get me into it
A decent guitar band, but can see why they didn’t set the world alight
Some great songs but a lot of other ok ones. An album which might have been better if edited form to one LP rather than a double
Enjoyed this more than expected. A really cool vibe to the whole thing
Or serving talking heads album and still not really for me
An enjoyable listen but not one I’d go back to
I’m not shay’s on board with mostly instrumental albums but I enjoyed the vibe and really gave a feel for that era
Did really do anything for me and was very long
Really enjoyed this one. Beautiful voice
I know it’s an iconic album but maybe you had to be there at the time. Did enjoy there being a song about Shadrach Meshach and Abednego 🤣
Clearly has something to say and I didn’t dislike it but didn’t connect with it either
Struggled to get into this one
Loved this. Old school epic rock album
No great surprises here. Knew the 2 famous ones and the others were what I expected from Elvis. An enjoyable listen
Another one that’s ok but didn’t rock my world. It’s starting to feel like anyone who released an album in the 70s is on this list.
Walk this way is a banger. The rest was fine
Very high concept. Quite a strange idea for an album but did enjoy it
The individual tracks were quite long and didn’t really grab my attention but nonetheless a decent album
A very nice album. A little twee but I still loved Our House and it’s been stuck in my head for days
