An absolute classic. A genre definer.

It is an incredible album but it does have some lows. Mostly the tracks not produced by Mark Ronson

It has some incredible highs but some song just feel like filler.

One of the best albums of all time. CRANK IT!

The highs are high and the low are... fine. When the trio is rocking and grooving, its a good time. When the songs slow, they don't exactly faulter but they don't stand up to the more up beat tracks. However, these slower song do showcase a side of ZZ Top often over looked by the more mainstream songs. The side of ZZ Top that can still deliver musically beautiful songs even though the lyrics and singing are not up to par.

This is a solid album. Listen with headphones to get all the details as the production is layered and beautiful. It also shows why the hits are the hits when it comes to Queen.

Solid Americana album but nothing too mind blowing about it.

Probably one of the greatest albums of the 80s with one of the strongest three song kick off of any album ever. I forgot how bad Meeting Across the River is... otherwise no notes on this album. Brothers in Arms is fucking killer closer.

I'm sure its good in a context ... today isn't that context

I dont get it. I don't and i would like to but this does not really do it for me. I think there are far better Zappa albums.
