Bone Machine
Tom Waitspretty weird but kinda raw lol
pretty weird but kinda raw lol
Good songwriting and guitar playing but no songs were like damn I really need to hear that again. I think her first album is gonna be a lot better
Super fun to listen to, shift from vocal to instrumental-focused tracks was a really nice contrast and showed Mobys true versatility as a producer. This is super ahead of its time.
Admittedly, I didn't listen to this album too closely. Great instrumentals, Bob Marley's voice is super enchanting, but there wasn't a specific song that really made me perk my ears up. If I have the chance, I'll give it a proper re-listen.
This is really hard because it’s probably an objectively well-made album, it’s just not my cup of Guinness.
It's wild, it's rebellious, it's one of the best works by sonic youth
Really have to be in the mood to listen to something like this nowadays. Lots of classics tho
Anyone wanting to listen to great jazz piano should listen to this
Always liked bossa nova but this was a really cool formal introduction to a well-known artist
it was ok. another jazz album in a row i'm gonna lose it tho
When I was in high school and just starting to play some guitar, “walk this way” was one of the first guitar riffs I learned. I then proceeded to download the entire album and listen to it on the school bus ride back and forth. I’m going to give this an album a 5 because it was so important for a pretty memorable time of my life. Has some banging tracks too that have really stood the test of time, despite people writing it off as “classic boomer rock”
In high school, I kept about 3 albums downloaded at a time from Spotify. They changed all the time, but for some reason, TPAB remained downloaded the entire time because of how good it was.
Great background music for working/exercise but nothing too memorable. Maybe I just wasn’t there to know how groundbreaking this was for the time. French electronica is really good tho
They ain't no bob marley
Always love a good Chicago album. No one had a full suite of instruments like they did
this album was so boring not even gonna lie
Stellar. I always thought bohemian rhapsody was the crown gem of this album but there’s sooo many other good songs here.
Didn’t know flute could be like that
Now this is boomer rock
Wtf was this
Classic
Honestly... not that memorable
Good ol 90s punk classics. Was definitely super influential alongside Green Day and stuff like that
Punk is cool again?
This album is special to me because I think Scarborough Fair was literally one of the first songs I knew. For some reason, when I was a little kid, my parents put me on that song. Otherwise, this album is just really great. I think Simon & Garfunkel do a great job of storytelling and presenting such a compelling tune with their voices and instruments. 7 O'Clock News / Silent Night is probably one of the most chilling songs I've ever listened to
Great production and flow. I just don't think it's super distinctive from the other records at the time for me to give it a higher rating.
Afrobeats is a cool cool genre of music. And knowing this guy was the godfather? Really great album.
The funk is indeed within me
Some classics on here. Need to listen deeper and maybe I’ll re-review this one!
Vibes!
What a debut album from The Cars!
So many timeless songs.
Iconic album. I didn't really listen to it when it was really popular at the time but these songs dominate the karaoke scene
