Liked the instrumentation but not the vocals

Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin
Sep 27 2025

- Listened to studio and live albums - They sound surprisingly similar :) - Wild range of styles - Awesome album, I'm sure I'll listen again, but I don't "need the vinyl"

Rapture by Anita Baker
Sep 28 2025

2/5 - Not awful, but I didn't really enjoy it. Love songs can be great but these seemed to have zero depth. Might be good in movies which I think is where I've heard some of them before.

Sep 29 2025

- familiarity: some, a couple of songs but not artist - album: flowed nicely - instrumentation: broad range, clean, interesting - lyrics: clear, huge range, fits the music, great falsetto - thoughts: really dig it, immediately downloaded all of their other albums - surprised: yes, will definitely listen again - score: 5/5

Exile On Main Street by The Rolling Stones
Sep 30 2025

- familiarity: medium, I know the band and quite a few songs but not this album - album: flow - instrumentation: surprising range: blues, sax, not what I expected - lyrics: fun - thoughts: I liked it, probably not going to reach for it but would enjoy it if someone else put it on - surprised: yeah, a side of the stones that I hadn't heard before - score: 4/5

Rust Never Sleeps by Neil Young & Crazy Horse
Oct 01 2025

Instrumentation is pretty good, but I can't get into the vocals

Talking Heads 77 by Talking Heads
Oct 03 2025

Really liked the music, disliked the vocals quite a bit. I usually like the alternative singers like this, but it didn't have anything special going for it. Inspired me to listen to the B-52s

Treasure by Cocteau Twins
Oct 05 2025

I like how eclectic and experimental their sound is. However most of the songs didn't really go anywhere.

Horses by Patti Smith
Oct 06 2025

Had to skip through songs. The vocals rubbed me the wrong way. I think the lyrics were interesting, but I didn't want to listen to them.

Sunday At The Village Vanguard by Bill Evans Trio
Oct 07 2025

Great small group jazz. So many bass solos. I'd listen anytime I want something low key.

Odelay by Beck
Oct 08 2025

Great groove, fun lyrics, will definitely listen more.

1984 by Van Halen
Oct 09 2025

I've heard most of the songs many times. They're fine, but I never had a particular connection to them.

Endtroducing..... by DJ Shadow
Oct 11 2025

Grooved to it while coding. Would listen again.

The Low End Theory by A Tribe Called Quest
Oct 12 2025

Listened twice through. Really liked the laid back style. Reminded me a lot of Digable Planets who I love.

Dummy by Portishead
Oct 13 2025

A good groove, would definitely listen again

Elvis Presley by Elvis Presley
Oct 14 2025

Fun album of mostly covers/standards. I've never been a big Elvis fan, but I liked these

The Idiot by Iggy Pop
Oct 15 2025

I liked it, didn't know about the relationship between Bowie and Iggy!

Apocalypse Dudes by Turbonegro
Oct 16 2025

Pretty fun, I like the groups guitar forward sound.

Group Sex by Circle Jerks
Oct 17 2025

I liked it, comically short though

Hot Buttered Soul by Isaac Hayes
Oct 18 2025

I really liked some of it. The spoken track is funny. Love how long the tracks were compared to yesterday's 15 minute album

McCartney by Paul McCartney
Oct 19 2025

Eclectic, fun really liked it! Will definitely listen to more non-Beatles McCartney

The Bends by Radiohead
Oct 21 2025

Enjoyed most of it, would definitely listen more

Maggot Brain by Funkadelic
Oct 24 2025

I really loved some moments, but there were too many times that this was straight cacophony. The grating cowbell was awful.

Out Of The Blue by Electric Light Orchestra
Oct 25 2025

Why does everything have cowbell?!?! Really good otherwise and only mine 20 seconds of it.

The Real Thing by Faith No More
Oct 26 2025

I liked their hit "epic", but didn't liked the voice or lyrics otherwise

Bert Jansch by Bert Jansch
Oct 27 2025

Great guitar, nice vocals, interesting lyrics. Overall, I really liked it. Super cool that is was recorded in his kitchen, really talented. Surprised that I hadn't heard of him before.

Celebrity Skin by Hole
Oct 29 2025

Quintessential 90s sound. I sort of recognized one song, but knew it was from the 90s before I looked them up.

Superfuzz Bigmuff by Mudhoney
Nov 03 2025

Originally thought it was pretty mediocre, but ended up really liking it for background music while running

Nothing's Shocking by Jane's Addiction
Nov 13 2025

Great band sound, vocals were hit or miss depending on the song.

Logical Progression by LTJ Bukem
Nov 14 2025

Really good to listen to in the background while coding! But pretty boring otherwise.

The Sensual World by Kate Bush
Nov 17 2025

Not something I'd seek out, but I didn't mind listening through once

I've listened to this album 50 times before and seen them in concert. One of my favorites.

Aqualung by Jethro Tull
Nov 23 2025

Another one of my all time favorites!

Violent Femmes by Violent Femmes

A bunch of songs that I've heard but never knew the artist. Unique voice and fun music. Really enjoyed it.
