pretty mid record. i enjoyed some specific songs, but for the most part, the beats are beyond ass and makes it borderline unlistenable sometimes. as a whole, i can pretty clearly see what some people might like about it, but i just don't think i'd ever wanna come back to this one other than a couple tracks.
standout tracks: i luv u, seems 2 be
fun to listen to, i likely wouldnt revisit this one other than a song or two. standout track for me would be she makes me.
mind numbingly mid. the raw sound of the record as a whole can be appreciated in some aspects, but i found myself struggling to even reach the end.
these guys were on that shit fr. i enjoyed the mix of rock and folk, and the flute was a great addition as well.
standout tracks: aqualung, up to me, my god
absolute goat rock album. every song was thoroughly enjoyable in its own way. there's a reason these songs are still so well known over 50 years later.
standout tracks: the battle of evermore, stairway to heaven, four sticks
i can appreciate the fact that this came out in the late 70s and the impact it may have had on music going forward, but in a vacuum, this was a rough one for me to get through. sonically, sure, it sounds cool. it sounds futuristic (for its time), and the process of actually creating it was probably pretty interesting, but god damn is it boring. i'd probably never go back to this one.
this site giving me kraftwerk two days in a row is diabolical. i somehow managed to enjoy this even less than the man-machine. like i mentioned for the man-machine, i can appreciate the sound of this album for its time, but i was praying for it to be done by the end of the third track.
exceptionally mid. i was kinda hoping it would be done soon after i got through "without you". i could see myself listening to a couple songs here and there, but as a whole, this album was neither good or bad. coconut is a crime against humanity for sure though. i'm bumping it down to a 2 from 3 just because of that song.
standout tracks: gotta get up, down
i enjoyed this one a lot more than i thought i would. i had heard the two more popular songs on this record in the past, those being "stop!" and "been caught stealing", but never took the time to listen to much else from these guys. i loved the shift in energy from the first part of the album into the second. i'd definitely come back to this one here and there.
standout tracks: been caught stealing, three days, then she did...
pretty solid. i hadn't listened to this album specifically before, but i'd heard other songs by them plenty before, so i was excited to check this one out. overall i really enjoyed it, but a couple songs specifically like jesus and the murder mystery i found a little lacking. i'll likely come back to this one for sure.
standout tracks: candy says, what goes on, beginning to see the light
it's alright. it didn't feel very compelling or interesting, so i'm not sure what the hype is about from reading other reviews. this reminds me of something that would be playing in a spot that sells $25 burgers and has a logo of a silhouetted man with a handlebar mustache.
standout track: neighborhood #3
loved this one. the atmosphere is absolutely fire, and the sound is killer.
standout tracks: la femme d'argent, all i need, you make it easy, ce matin-la
pretty solid. i don't think there's anything groundbreaking here, but i think their sound is about on par with other artists of that time period like the beatles. i see the song i enjoyed the most, mind gardens, seems to be most peoples least favorite song. i loved the psychedelic / folk sound. personally, i think they should have leaned more into that sound.
standout tracks: mind gardens, everybody's been burned, it happens each day
wow this one was absolutely ass. whoever even added this album to this list needs to be checked out. this feels like some kind of radiohead fan album but with way more embarrassing songwriting and worse production. if i absolutely was forced to give them credit for a single thing, i'd say that the actual production of the album can be pretty okay in some small bits, but that enjoyment is almost instantly sapped away the moment i hear any lyrics.
standout tracks: π
this is the first album so far that i couldnt finish. praying i never hear this again π€²
not bad. i enjoyed most of it, but i probably wouldn't come back to this other than a track or two.
standout track: talking about the good times
i appreciate the "odd" sound of a lot of this, but i just cant really get past the sound of his voice. overall it was alright, but i wont be coming back to this one.
standout tracks: π
i think this whole era of rock is absolutely horrid. the cover for this album is classic though ill give them that.
standout track: hot for teacher
this ones really just not for me lmfao
jeez this one was boring as hell. there's not really much going on here. there were a couple of songs on here i enjoyed individually, but this whole record dragged hard. some of the choices for albums on this site are insane.
standout tracks: no trophy, sunshine
interesting concept album. i'll definitely never listen to it again though. some of the lyrics are just cringe.
love it, but honestly all the songs sound almost identical.
fire fire fire
standout tracks: the lemon song, heartbreaker
