I just don't get it. Nothing in it really grabbed me. The Aretha Franklin record was from the same year. So different. No connection with this.
Didn't like it. It's not my thing. Nothing wrong with it. It just really isn't my thing.
Was pretty good towards the end. Didn't know they were from Liverpool. Born To Run pretty, pretty, pretty good
Amazing. But I already knew it was
Quite middle of the road. Could listen to it for a bit but gets samey after a while.
It's not my thing. But I can stand listening to it.
Weird. Kinda dreamy at start. More instrumental. More inventive. As it went on, it became more Boushy or sounded like something Matt Berry would write. There's an instrumental only version of the album. Could be interesting. I more liked it than disliked it.
Did not listen to it. Don't care much for Christmas songs
Good. Emotive. Big stuff. Some small stuff. Quite liked it.
First song - KICKS - was really fucking good. Rest of the album was a bit average. Shame. It got off to a good start but then went down - so average score.
Really not my thing. Just not my style of music. Feels like you're listening to something stuck on repeat. Even the last track STAGGER - which felt more like a song - did nothing for me. Was just getting irritated listening to it. Felt like that episode of Frasier where Daphne has the song 'flesh in burning, na-na-na-na-na-nah' stuck in her head.
Loved it. Very Paranoid Park/Portland. Wanna listen to more.
Slightly on the fence about it. Don't love it. But do like that the tracks are varied. I did like some of the sound of it. Think I could like it more, the more I listen to it.
I know it well enough to already know I love it
Didn't enjoy it. It's not my thing. Not mad about her voice. The album is way too long. It's not varied enough to be that long. I was bored by about the third track. I understand why Kelly Osbourne hated her.
I liked it a lot. The sad but happy tone of it. It's difficult to describe but it made me feel something. It felt like The Holdovers vibe. Want to listen to more of him.
It's just not my thing. Did not enjoy it.
Surprised how many 'other artists' songs' he did first. I like the album. It's a bit middle of the road for me though. I don't love it. Definitely don't hate it.
I'm in the middle about it. I get it. It's not my thing. But I can appreciate it. It's video-gamey. Kinda fun.
Didn't enjoy it. Think I've come to the conclusion that I just don't like reggae that much. I'm sure some people love it. It's not my thing.
Middle of the road. She has a good voice but the songs and the music style's not my taste.
Didn't like it that much. Felt kinda generic. Nothing stood out for me. It's fine to rock along to but didn't love it.
Enjoyed it. Bit middle of the road again. Could rock on to it. But not much stood out.
Chill. I like their stuff. Not my favourite on first listen but will easily listen again.
Quite liked it. Like Elvis Costello's voice. I'll listen again.
Pretty good. I liked the jazz vibes on the later tracks
Nope! Did not like it. Not my thing. At one point I thought I liked one track but then couldn't find it when I went to look for it again. I ended up skipping part way through a lot of tracks at the end. Just not my thing.
I actually quite liked it. Didn't really know what to expect from it. It felt like a film soundtrack at times. Felt a bit like Holdovers maybe. Didn't really like it near the start but it started to grow on me as I listened. Ended up listening to it again straight after. Good album.
Great album. Good tracks. Easy listening but engaging. Varied enough. Will easily listen to it a lot.
I liked it quite a lot. Kinda liked the country vibes mixed with the depressive inde rock. Good album.
I wasn't overly keen on it. It was kinda ok background chill music but didn't really grab me
I already knew I liked it. Good album. Varied enough.
I quite liked it. Got a lot of attitude. Probably good to run to. Lyrics interesting/odd in places. But still, good.
Not my thing. Got half way through it. Gave up. Didn't notice the tracks changed at times.
Kind of a snooze. Or maybe I wasn't really in the mood for it. Either way, I didn't like it that much.
Dude, I could hardly understand what they were singing a lot of the time but I liked the sound. I could listen again, think i will. But need to read the lyrics with it.
I listened to this late. I enjoyed listening to it. But, it is kinda middle of the road, average. Their sound didn't make me want to listen to more of their stuff. I enjoyed listening to the album this one time but I think that's it. Doubt I'm gonna seek it out again.
Awesome. Didn't know so many of the classics were on one album.
I heard it before. I enjoyed it less this time round. I appreciate it. It's an experience to listen through it. But I'm not gonna pick out random song from it to listen to.
It didn't particularly appeal to me. It was middle of the road again. I could stand to listen to it but nothing stood out for me.
A lot of it's catchy. Recognise from Baby Driver. It's good. But I'm probably not gonna randomly choose to stick it on or pick out a track to listen to. Maybe it's too niche. Maybe I need to listen again some other time.
It was fine. Didn't massively do it for me. Didn't hate or love it
Liked it. Good to run to. 80s feel of The Lost Boys.
Wasn't so bothered about it.
It was fine, easy, calm listening. But didn't really do anything for me.
I like his sound. Liked a few songs but didn't love it.
Loved it. Could easily listen to it again. Easy inde.
Pretty good. I enjoyed it. But I'm not gonna pick random tracks from it and listen again. It's an album I'd probably listen to again as one piece. But not sure I will listen to it again. I enjoyed it but not sure I'll go back to it.
Heroes is obviously the best song. I liked a few of the instrumental only latter tracks. I like it but don't love it.
This was a weird one. Jazzy and Rocky. Felt like The Fast Show Jazz Club in places then went mad experimental guitar. It was fucking weird. Don't know if I liked it. It was emotive. Think I'm gonna rate it higher to keep it in memory. It needs another listen. Fucking long though.
Meh. Don't think I was in the mood for it. Was sorta snoozing through listening to it. Didn't interest me.
It was kinda chill. A lot of mumbly words. I liked it but didn't understand all of it. I'll listen again. It gives a certain depressing vibe.
I'm not sure it's really for me. Or maybe I'm just not in the mood. Slow. Fine but not doing much for me.
No, no, no. Didn't enjoy it. Didn't get it. A lot of noise. Weird but not in a good Bouchy way. Just not good.
I dunno dude. It felt like I was in the 50s and I wasn't in the mood. I just wannae interested in it.
I do like Leonard Cohen. There's always a chill vibe to his music. Feels like a song playing near the end of a movie where some character's come to terms with the way their life is and they're just getting on with it. I like this.
Dunno. It was a bit much. Dramatic. Not my thing.
Pretty good. Not amazing but had goodtempo. Got a lot of work done to it. Probably good for running
Loved it. Love her voice. The 60s vibe. Easy listening.
I dunno dude. They're just not my thing. Sounds too happy go lucky. I just don't get them.
Loved it. Nice easy listening. Reminds me of the Holdovers.
It was rock. Sure it rocked. But it didn't do much for me.
Boooooo! Nothing special.
Fucking hell. Terrible. This is an abomination.
Didn't think much of it. A bit electro, but not in a cool way. More of a plinky-plonky way.
No. Just not my thing. Too goth.
It was ok. Some good tracks at the start but it started to feel a bit samey towards the end. It's a 3/5. It was ok. Not great and not bad. Better than bad.
It was ok. Kinda chill listening stuff. The album itself did not really knock me away but the band could be good. Maybe worth checking out later but better than average. 4/5.
I wasn't really into it at first but the more it went, the more I got into it. Liked the acoustic chill vibe. Maybe I'll check out more, see what studio stuff's like. 4/5
I dunno man. Is this really one of the best 1001? It was fine. Nothing special. I listen to it a few hours ago and can hardly remember it. 2/5.
I dunno dude. Again, it was fine. But is it one of 1001 I had to listen to? 3/5. Average. Didn't hate it. Didn't love it.
I like 'Imagine' and 'Jealous Guy'. But I knew that already. None of the other tracks really did much for me. Weird variety of vibes towards that odd Beatley Sgt Pepper nonsense to some more 'meloncholic' stuff like the two songs I already liked. I'm giving it a low score because there's nothing new on it I like. (I think it's only worth marking high stuff I want to revisit. Middle 3 score stuff should be stuff I'm really not sure about). 2/5
It was good for just being different from a lot of the stuff I've heard recently. I like the chill acoustic vibe, soft lyrics. I liked it. 4/5.
These long - super long- tracked conceptual albums don't do anything for me. I was bored and just waiting for it to end. Is its reason for being on 1001 that the tracks are just so damn long? 1/5
Loved it. Chill enough but rock enough. The vibe is right. 4/5.
Nah. Just didn't care for it. Too funky. 1/5.
Good vibes. America 70s, peace and love maybe but more melancholic. Can hear how Jake Bugg's taken inspiration from him.
Nope. Sure there are some 'bangers' on there that everyone sings when they're drunk but it's just meh. It's rock sure but not special enough. 1/5.
Big snooze. Just don't care. 1/5
Fucking great. Bit intense to listen to the whole album on a run. It's above 40mins. But it's the one album so far that's probably had the most number of good tracks. 5/5.
This was completely terrible. Like a pretentious student sound design project. Not a single track on there recognisable as a song. 1/5.
