This album is a collection of beautiful songs that are impaired by the egregiously long run time. Three stars.
(Favorite track: Let's Call The Whole Thing Off.)
Five stars.
(Favorite track: For No One.)
Some songs tend to blend together due to the homogeneous sound of the whole album. However, that didn’t really take away from my enjoyment of the album. Four stars.
(Favorite track: Bad Moon Rising.)
I did not like this album. I can appreciate it lyrically, but sonically the album feels disjointed. Which made for a disappointing listen. Two stars.
(Favorite track: You Can Call Me Al.)
I'm well aware I am not the target audience for this album, and this is not my usual genre. But I did enjoy this album. I don't know that I see myself replaying this album much in the future, but it was a engaging listen. Three stars.
(Favorite track: Welcome to the Terrordome.)
This album is not offensively bad, but it's not good either. The lyrics are uninspired and bland, and there are unnecessarily long instrumental breaks on one too many songs. Overall an extremely boring album. Two stars.
(Favorite track: More Than a Feeling.)
This is a good album. Very refreshing to hear a full album lacking any romantic love songs. Four stars.
(Favorite track: What's Going On.)
It's good. It's Christmas. The weird message from Phil Spector at the end was an unfortunate mistake, and weird. Three stars.
(Favorite track: Christmas (Baby Please Come Home).)
I'll never be a fan of cover albums. Even the context of this album's creation did not change much of my opinion. The only highlights were the few original songs. Overall, this left me feeling very bored. Two stars.
(Favorite track: The Man Comes Around.)
I think this album is okay sonically, but boy do I dislike the lyrics. Every song is so vindictive, and I think "breast" was said like four times. Vocally, I get sick of the grungy, spoken word, annoyingly strong British accent schtick by track four. In summary, I was not a fan of this album. Two stars.
(Favorite track: Common People.)
This is an album of it's time. It has that classic 50's sound which I find myself enjoying on occasion. However, an entire album becomes stale pretty quickly. For the most part this is a decent album, but I doubt I'll ever listen to it again. Two stars.
(Favorite track: It's Too Late.)
No song on this album is bad. However, that is all I find myself able to say about it. Nothing really stands out to me. It's good, that's it. Three stars.
(Favorite track: Change Gonna Come.)
The hits on this album really hit. The pre chorus on "Set Fire to the Rain" is so addicting, and there are some great melodies to be had. However, the songs in between are incredibly forgettable. I found myself checking the track list multiple times, waiting for the next song I was familiar with. Three stars.
(Favorite track: Set Fire to the Rain.)
The album is fine, not an offensive listen. It has a few highlights, but other than that it's just noise. A lot of songs overstay their welcome, with weirdly long intros/outros. And there is just too much repetition on this album, some songs have two or three lines repeated over and over. Two stars.
(Favorite track: Clint Eastwood.)
I don't have much to say about this album. It sounds good. Lyrically, almost every song is about the same thing. Which was so tiring it swung back around to comical. Overall, it was unremarkably okay. Three stars.
(Favorite track: Runaway Child, Running Wild.)
Starting with the obvious, this album is way too long. Two hours and fifteen minutes is egregious.
In the first half of the album, no songs stand out to me, and the choruses are lazy and repetitive. The second half of the album is a little better sonically, but the lyrics are definitely not. One star.
(Favorite track: Hey Ya!.)
I find myself weirdly charmed by the lyrics on this album. Sonically, there aren't really any stand out tracks, but the album as a whole is solid. Three stars.
(Favorite track: Bonny.)
The whole album has a very monotonous sound. Two or three songs in, I didn't mind, but by the end of the album it was extremely grating. Lyrically there are a few impressive lines, but there are also a lot of nonsense lines. Overall, it was an okay listen. Three stars.
(Favorite track: I Remember Me.)
I knew going into this album I probably was not going to like it. This genre has never interested me, so I was expecting the worst. However, it was actually not that offensive of a listen.
I still didn't like it though.
To me every song sounds too similar, and every song does the same thing.
The whole thing comes off as very performative to me,
"What's the edgiest thing to sing about while playing the most overstimulating guitar riff?". "Ooo 666!"
I'm sure in 1982 this album actually felt daring and cool, but in 2026 it just feels like they're trying too hard.
Overall the album is fine; monotonous, overstimulating, and a little cringy at times. Two stars.
(Favorite track: 22 Acacia Avenue.)
I can see why this album is on the list. I don't think I've heard a pop album quite like it.
At the same time, I didn't really like it.
It's too long, and the songs eventually start to all sound the same. Something that really bothered me was how many songs are guilty of using the same drum beat for the entire song, which gets very annoying. Two stars.
(Favorite track: Makes Me Wanna Pray.)
I went into this album with high expectations,
and maybe they were a little too high.
I do like some of the songs on this album, but there is also a lot of filler.
I enjoyed the upbeat tone of this album, which I don't hear much from this genre. I also think the game show concept is fun.
Overall, for me its a mixed bag. Three stars.
(Favorite track: The Magic Number.)
I have no idea why this album was included on the list.
Every song is somehow simultaneously both boring and overstimulating.
The lyrics are dull nonsense throughout the entire track list, and the vocals aren't much better.
Overall, this album not memorable, it's not innovative, and I didn't like it. Two stars.
(Favorite track: Natalie's Party.)
After the first two songs I was very optimistic for the rest of the album, but it was disappointing.
It's just so boring.
So I think the lesson I've learned here is that the Eagles are fine in small increments, good even. However, any more than that and it all sounds like boring nothing noise. Three stars.
(Favorite track: Take It Easy.)
This is a good album. Every track has it's own distinct sound, but they come together to make a cohesive collection of songs.
I find myself torn on how to rate this album, It's an objectively good album. However, I don't see myself replaying it all that often, and I think that is the reason I'm giving it this rating. Three stars.
(Favorite track: Heart of Glass.)
I knew that I was going to enjoy this album from the first few seconds of "Seven Nation Army".
I was pleased to find the rest of the album keeps that level of quality throughout the entire track list.
There are times where I think the electric guitar is overdone and becomes a little obnoxious, but that is easily forgivable. Four stars.
(Favorite track: Seven Nation Army.)
This is not my genre. Is this anyone's genre?
The songs are too long, and they're all pretty boring.
Overall, the album is not that bad, but I see no reason for it to be on the list. Two stars.
(Favorite track: Mysterious Semblance at the Strand of Nightmares.)
I think my favorite song ever is "Vienna" from this album.
So even if every other song on the album was absolutely horrible, I would still be giving it a five star rating.
Fortunately, the rest of the album is really good. Every song is so distinct, and every one of them deserves its place, there's no filler.
Overall, this is a great album, one of my favorites. Five stars.
(Favorite track: Vienna.)
This album is not what I expected, but I wasn't expecting a lot from a country album. The lyrics are very questionable throughout, and every song sounds a bit too similar for my liking.
Overall this album left me with many questions. What is going on, what even is a "honky tonk", and why are the lyrics of "Because Of The Wind" so bad? Two stars.
(Favorite track: Boxcars.)
I don't think this is the worst album I've ever heard, but it's pretty close.
In theory, I can appreciate what they're trying to do with this album. In actuality, It's hard to appreciate anything about this album.
I guess the instrumental is okay at times? One star.
(Favorite track: Several Sins.)
This album was a journey. I was unsure of where I stood after the ominous ten minute opening track, but the album grew on me as it went on.
To mention the context of this albums release, I do think this is a good album, and a great one to be your last. Three stars.
(Favorite track: Lazarus.)
I enjoyed this album quite a bit. The fact that this was her debut album makes it even more impressive. If I had one complaint, I would say the basslines get a little repetitive. Four stars.
(Favorite track: Smooth Operator.)
This is a good album, if you're in the right mood for it.
Personally, I am always going to prefer an album with actual lyrics, no matter how good the instrumental is.
I don't think I'll be listening to this one again, but it wasn't a bad experience. Three stars.
(Favorite track: Black Magic Women / Gypsy Queen.)
It's very refreshing to hear an album from a women on this list, those are seemingly somewhat rare. And I did enjoy the album.
However, while I'm not familiar with anything else from PJ Harvey, I think I'd enjoy a newer album of hers more. Something with a further honed shape and sound. Three stars.
(Favorite track: Dress.)
This is a good album. The vocals are great throughout, and there isn't a bad song on the album.
I do think the lyrics leave something to be desired at times, they're very generic.
And while I don't see myself returning to this album that often in the future, it was a very enjoyable listen. Three stars.
(Favorite track: (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman.)
My opinion of this album is the same as my opinion of Queen as a band; it's a mixed bag.
There are some good songs on this album, an obvious example being 'Bohemian Rhapsody'.
And there are some questionable songs on this album too, like 'I'm In Love With My Car'.
Which I think can be said of every Queen album released. There is some great stuff, and some not so great. Three stars.
(Favorite track: You're My Best Friend.)
I'm quite fond on this genre in a more limited quantity, a whole album is a little too much. The lyrics aren't great, but I don't think I mind all that much. And why isn't he paying for that banana split? Three stars.
(Favorite track: Just a Gigolo / I Ain't Got Nobody.)
Sonically, this album is good.
But I just can't get behind these lyrics. Even when the lyrics are not being blatantly misogynistic or talking excessively about balls, they're kind of boring.
Something I did like about the album was the radio station that made an appearance on a few songs.
But why were there twenty different Dr. Dre mentions throughout the album? Two stars.
(Favorite track: Murder Was The Case.)
I can appreciate a concept album, but this one was really boring. Two stars.
(Favorite track: I Can See For Miles.)
I liked this album a lot more than I thought I would. My few encounters with metal have not been great, so this was a pleasant surprise.
A fault that I think can be found in every album of this genre is the monotonous sound throughout, which can, and did, become tiresome.
And I know this is not an original thought, given it's their most popular song, but 'Enter Sandman' is great, I loved it. Three stars.
(Favorite track: Enter Sandman.)
I've only heard one other album from PJ Harvey (Dry), and I remember liking it more than this one.
The biggest fault of this album is that it's very one note. Every song is doing the same thing, and it can get old.
I also don't like that there are two versions of the same song on a standard edition album.
I think I would/will listen to a song or two off of this album again, but I don't see myself playing the entire thing anytime soon. Three stars.
(Favorite track: Rid of Me.)
Well this was definitely better than 'Speakerboxxx/The Love Below'.
However, other than a few songs, I still wasn't a fan.
The interludes felt unnecessary and overdone, and a lot of the songs went on for far too long.
Their were some questionable lyrics throughout the album, but I was very impressed by the subject and lyrics of 'Toilet Tisha'. Two stars.
(Favorite track: Mrs. Jackson.)
This album sounds like the type of music the cool older brother in an early 2000s movie would listen to, just to make sure the audience knows he's super duper cool.
Why is this album on the list? I can think of a number of better inclusions. Unfortunately, this album was chosen, and I was subjected to forty-three minutes of listless, unimpressive, boring music.
Something else to note are the lyrics, which are just straight nonsense to me. Two stars.
(Favorite track: On a Rope.)
I don't like this.
Some of the songs on this album are okay, if not really my thing. However, "Swimsuit Issue" was by far the worst song on the album, (lyrically and vocally) and really brought down my opinion of it as a whole. Two stars.
(Favorite track: Sugar Kane.)
This was an okay album. It has a very laid back sound, which can lean too far into boring at times.
If I wanted to be a bit more forthright about it, I would say this sounds like a worse Bob Dylan, so you should just listen to him instead.
Overall, I wasn't that impressed, but it was an alright listen. Three stars.
(Favorite track: Wild West End.)
I was intimidated by a twenty minute opening track at first, but it was actually quite good.
I liked the lyrics on the album they were decently constructed and imaginative throughout. The vocals however are very one note, and I eventually grew tired of them.
If I could I might give this album three and a half stars, but I can't. Three stars.
(Favorite track: 2112: Overture / The Temples Of Syrinx / Discovery / Presentation / Oracle / Soliloquy / Grand Finale.)
This is a intriguing album, but as it went on I liked it less and less.
The album starts off very strong with the first two tracks, but after that it starts to drag. Most of the songs go on for too long, and I think there are a few songs that could have been cut altogether.
I was not a fan of the random acapella throughout. And by the end of the album I was bored, waiting for it to be over. Overall, I think this album is just okay, not good or bad. Three stars.
(Favorite track: Staring at the Sun.)
I'm a little conflicted with rating this album. I have issues with it that would normally lower it's rating, but I also really liked the album regardless.
Almost every song is too long. ('We are Family' is eight and a half minutes!) And within these excessive runtimes the songs are very repetitive sonically and lyrically.
This genre also tends to sound quite similar song to song, leaving this album with a very monotonous sound.
But I actually really liked the album. And I'm tempted to give it an even higher rating because of that, but I won't. Three stars.
(Favorite song: He's the Greatest Dancer.)
This is a great album. Every song on it could be the best song on a different album. And I love a Paul McCartney feature. Four stars.
(Favorite track: Billie Jean.)
This is my first album on this list that wasn't in English. While I didn't understand any of the lyrics, I still enjoyed the album.
I've never heard an album with this type of sound before. And I was getting a bit of a Beatles vibe at times, but that might just be because it was 1968. Three stars.
(Favorite track: Clarice.)
Another mediocre British rock band. Yippee.
Too much talking throughout the entire album. And when the singer isn't talking I can barely understand what he's singing. Two stars.
(Favorite track: Knowledge of Beauty.)
I liked this album.
I love the jazzy sound on songs like "At the Chime Of A City Clock" and "Poor Boy".
Something to note is how one note his vocals are throughout the entire album. I get that's kind of the point, but it got boring after awhile.
Overall it was a calming, yet average listen. Three stars.
(Favorite track: At The Chime Of A City Clock.)
This whole album sounds like one song being played for forty minutes.
I actually really liked it though. This is an album I think best enjoyed putting on in the background. Three stars.
(Favorite track: Needle of Death.)
I don't even know where to start with this album. It's too long at almost an hour and a half. Some of the beats are pretty good, some sound boring and generic.
The lyrics are where he really loses me. Misogyny and homophobia are not something I would ever rate highly. It's honestly getting repetitive and tiring in this genre. Do they not have anything else to talk about? I severely disliked the outro of 'The 6th Sense', and think that was the moment of the album he earned his one star rating.
Something else to complain about lyrically is how many times he says "broad" on this album. It was at least once every song, very annoying. One star.
(Favorite track: The Light.)
