It is day 30. The troops are exhausted. We have been stationed in the trenches of male dominated bands for far too long. The reconnaissance is grim. Out of the last thirty engagements, 29 have been identical bloodbaths with the same enemy: men, from across the centuries, whining in our ears. The psychological warfare is reaching a breaking point. We have endured endless feedback loops, lyrics about not being ok (WE GET IT OK???) and the relentless bombardment with nasal vocals. Morale is at an all-time low. The tactical repetition of men-calling-their-own-chaos-art has caused a sensory overload. Our ears are bleeding from the sheer monotony of hearing another man process his basic emotions over a distorted power chord. We are exhausted. We are outnumbered. The ratio of 29-to-1 is not a discography, it’s a siege. Send reinforcements. Send melody. SEND MORE WOMEN. God be with us! As for the Kinks…. I don’t find them all too kinky.
