1001 Albums Summary

Could see this album being used for a skate video for sure. Not terrible but not really my theme for the majority of the album. Did end up adding one song from the album “Where is my mind”. 2.5/5

Back when Kanye made sense. Also didn’t realize how many samples of this album were used in other songs, ie workout plan for one of J Cole’s songs. The skits were also hilarious, get your degree!

Beautifully done.

Sounded like a bunch of sound bites throw together to make the songs. There didn’t feel like any cohesion throughout. I know U2 has some good songs, but there wasn’t any on this one. Happy that one is behind me.

Absolutely perfect from start to finish. Really makes me wish roller rinks were still a thing. I could see the boys courting the lasses with a nice choreographed roller dance. Incredibly catchy. King of pop for a reason; band is also nailing every track.

Horns were well done, not my vibe really but wasn’t terrible.

Spoken songs are not really my jam. Also underwhelming instrumental. Don’t ever see myself reaching for anything by this artist honestly. At least not until the first million in the bank.

Nothing special

Honestly, I thought there was no way I was going to like this… and while maybe I didn’t think it was top tier it was still impressive that they released the songs in French and in English. Her voice was enjoyable in both. Some of the beats were catchy and unique. Granted it is pop. I would lean more to a 3.5.

At certain points I was hearing Gord Downie… crazy

When you think of the 80s these guys are definitely it. Something about his voice with progression of the instruments.

Trailblazer for so many, and honestly hard not to enjoy.

Place and time for everything. This was enjoyable but it also felt like something I would put on and clean the house to.

Cool to find out who did That 70s Show intro song. Easy listening.

Got to the third song and couldn’t do it. Sounded to much like alarm songs the way they would repeat over and over.

Hard to get into honestly. Found myself distracted every song and not enjoying much of it.

So happy to see her on this list. Great word rhyming patterns, and she is able to sing more about complex things instead of a “cheating man” concept that most female country singers bring. Lyrically has been one of my favorite country singers and always enjoy her stuff.

Upbeat and easy to nod along to.

Actually a vibe. Love how each guitar player brings their own blues vibe.

Rambling song written isn’t really my thing. Nothing grand to take away from the album.

Big hitter revved up for the drive home.

This is what I hoped for from doing this. Finding new artists that slap. Never heard of these guys until now. Must of added 4 songs to my liked. Great flow, always refreshing to have rappers not using fill curse words too. Definitely a fan of these guys now!

Not sure what it is, just never could enjoy these guys. Something to do with the track and artists volume level maybe. Also the main rapper sounds almost yelling like.

Interesting vibe, I like the horns. Makes everything very uppity. Wouldn’t listen again but not terrible.

Great bass, guitar rifts, and drums. Not the biggest fan of the vocals, but no terrible.

Listened late, didn’t get through whole album but would most likely jam again.

Good old swing music. Wonder if he’s Corey in the House’s grandfather, damn they look similar.

Never really had much of the stones on my phone. Album was catchy but no must haves for me.

Gangsta rap has a place, but it needs to be a sweet spot when to play it.

Not the first artist I would put on, but can certainly appreciate why he is as famous as he is.

Could just be one big song honestly, although Rio and Hungry like a wolf are iconic by themselves.

Maybe not my favorite Elvis album, but can’t deny the feelings that come with every song I hear by him. Reminds me instantly of my grandfather. I’ll take more of those memories any day.
