Could’ve been released today, thought it sounded current. Powerful passionate vocals. First time I’ve listened in full to a Nina album. Enjoyed it and it has a replayability element. My benchmark, I would purchase the vinyl but not a 5/5. More like a 4.3/5.

Can appreciate Stevie’s talent but not really for me. Too sugary beige and even the monster tune Superstition which is a banger couldn’t save it for me. 2.5/5.

Not for me which disappoints as for first time hearing an album by Steely Dan which are held in high regards by some. Liked the opening track which is a big tune from then, but sorry, the on, it was very middle of the road and beige. Struggled to get through it. 1/5.

First time on a Aretha album and must say really impressed, really soulful and passionate, obviously what an an amazing voice and the album held my attention throughout and it has a decent replayability about it. 4.6/5.

Probably my favorite Pogues album. Can’t ignore their album Rum…. But this more polished with a handful of bangers. Unique sound that until then hadn’t broke through. Great album highly recommended. 4.6/5

Not blown away but a nice listen. Can't see me returning to this in a hurry. However better than I thought. Wrongly assumed beige slow ramblings but actually well crafted tunes. Nice new experience. 2.5/5

This fella is a genius. So unique and different. One of his better albums if possible as he’s done nothing weak. Some great riffs, and indescribable sounds with JW’s falsetto. This has a higher replayability factor. Tracks like the grandiose Weep Themselves To Sleep, riff-tastic Sixteen Saltines, funky I’m Shakin. There’s enough big tunes to make this a top album 4.6/5.

Big fan of Barry’s follow up to this and looking forward to this. Still got the chaotic multilayered style which is hard to describe. It’s theatrical and feels you’re in a movie or multiple movies. Liked the all over the shop approach very different and would revisit. 3.9/5

Have always been aware but not had the chance of a full album. Thought these were always on the fringe pop side of electronic and the trip hop scene that was around at the time. However rated this, really cool, the beats and production quality and Tracy’s vocals. 4.4/5

Decent new experience for something which is not my bag. Decent vocals as expected from Dusty, think the cover tracks were the strongest which may tell you..!!?? 3/5.

Great new experience this album. A lot more funky and soulful than expected which was a surprise and glad it was pop. With a coupe of big tunes on here. Enjoyed this more than I thought I would. 4.1/5.

Was expecting an average mediocre 70’s rock album….. Big tune to kick this album off and one of a couple I know. Never listened to this before and better than expected but still a bit of an average rock album from that time to me.

Rated this at the time. A great debut and something a bit different in the heavy/metal genre. Some big tunes if the odd track has become a bit cringe. 4.5/5.

Not sure why/how this is supposed to be such a big deal and album. Feels a softer nu metal although I’m probably not their target audience. For the youth I get it and there are a few big pop catchy tunes on here. First proper listen got through it. 3/5.

Want to like this more expecting an easier listen. Although very clever, a bit experimental and her commentary is decent. Not sure I’ll need to rush back.

Quite chilled and not as dance’y disco as was expected from their more recent stuff. However really enjoyable, classy. 3.6/5.

Didn’t realise Janis was in a band before. Surprised how good this is as a first listen to me. Raw, bluesy and still holds up. 4.1/5

Not a big reggae fan, however this surprised. Only ever heard the greatest hits. This was decent and will get played again.

My first experience of Parliament. What the funk have I been doing with my life..!!! 4.5/5 as I’m still coming to terms with this.

Iconic and a great debut. Some really big tunes on here. Even if they are a little overrated I rate this and a strong 4.5/5.

Went in with an open mind as not familiar with their work. It was a struggle on first listen, after persevering I did get it but can’t see myself going back as found it a bit meat n potatoes 1.5/5

Englands Dylan but better. At the time there was nothing like it. Refreshing. Great lyricist and his politics are spot on. Rated this 4/5

Probably their last great album before they became a shadow of thier former selves and that lead singer…..oh dear..!!! However this is a solid 5.

As a newcomer and as we had Neil headline Glasto I did a deep dive and started with this as heard it was one of his better. I wasn’t disappointed, really enjoyed this if a little more softer/grown up than expected from the godfather of grunge. 4.2/5.

Better than expected, although could go back to this. Heavily produced and sound very 80’s maybe that’s where it should stay as a little dated 3/5.

10/10 no question. One of the best of ‘91 if not the 90’s. Sympathy one of the best pop tunes of all time.

Always thought these were a novelty act, trying to emulate those Liverpudlians. They’ve a few bangers but not for me. Prefered their tv programme. 1

An impressive output which dilutes how good these are. They’ve delivered so much of late hard to absorb however rated this album and the first bought from these. Wildfires 4.3/5

No my normal go to. But what an album. Class.

Prefer everything pre ‘83, but this is Bowie so no criticism here. A legend and this does have a handful of strong tunes. 3.9/4

Classic beige American stuff. Guess they were big, imported and influential back in the day. Average stuff for me. 2.5/5

Really refreshing and sounding new when landed. Although their folllow up is better this give Damon’s other band a run for its money. Rated this. 4.2/5
