1001 Albums Summary

I have forgotten how really terrific the brass is on this album

Having grown up on the dark side of the moon, I love this classic

I like Kid Rock notwithstanding the fact that he shields for the orange menace; that said, this album sucks

Meh

It being appropriately named, this album is “bollocks“; not the worst album we’ve had though,it hurt my ears to even play it

Not really my choice of music, but I was cruising along in intending to give it a four until I got to the asswipe lyric which cost it a star

Pleasant music that you would have gotten a three had there been half as many tracks.

There have been many pretenders but there is only one George Jones at the top of the heap. The Possum is missed by all who love his genre of music

The college summer I pack packed through Europe with classmates we were to take a train from Sweden to Finland; one of guys disappeared and we missed the train; a couple of days later he reappeared after a 48 hour sojourn with a Swedish girl he had met; never made it to Finland but liked this album nonetheless

If these tracks are autobiographical in nature, Ms. Parton certainly had her share of relationship problems. But for Merle Haggard though, this was probably the CMA winner in 72

This album loses a star because the majority of tracks are limited to a single octave, however, it gains a star because the bridges between ol many of the verses are musically interesting. Overall: Meh

Okay but not la politique des auteurs; methinks this group should rename it self

Most of this album is good rock ‘n’ roll; however, some of it gave me cramps

Bjork is a tortured soul in this album and she succeed in torturing me. I hope she heals.

When I was in high school I saw Stan Getz perform at the Carter Baron amphitheater in Rock Creek Park, DC. His jazz was smooth and enjoyable but the highlight of the show was a performance by Astrud Gilberto singing The Girl from Ipanema. That got a rise out of me, so to speak

Just because it’s ‘olblue eyes

Three superstores in one place! How can you go wrong?

Another one we lost too early. RIP Amy

Big fan of the Dead; not a big fan of live albums

Ho hum

Just one of the best Canucks of all time I

Not much here

Gotta love a rockin' redhead

This album isn’t on rock bottom, but it’s only the width of a head hair from being there

Not his best stuff

The molecules of my brain got atomized listening to this

Hello, goodbye Mr. Buckley

KDL is one of my favorite Canucks and she did not disappoint with this offering

R.E.M. J.U.S.T..S.O.S.O.

My prayer for mercy while listening to these”sisters” was to have this album be over quickly

When your name is Elvis, how can you go wrong?

Better than most of this genre

To suggest this album be returned to the junkyard is an insult to junkyards; a landfill would be a better depository for this trash

Too much noise but this gets ok grade for the music that is there

Not what one would call “classic Dylan” bit should be considered a classic nonetheless

Nothing special here to hear

This album gave me a Proustian moment of when in 1960 I was at the age of 14 expelled from dance Cotillion where my mother had enrolled me to learn how to jitterbug. Mambo dance was the craze; when the teacher tried to teach it to us I rebelled; it did not go well.

Kept waiting for some lyrics……. Waiting……… waiting Waiting……..

This call was to a wrong number and not even worth leaving voicemail

Mostly hard driving rock - OK

James Taylor gets Five stars plus extra credit because he grew up in Chapel Hill

I have a theory: this album definitely belongs at the low end

Not the boys’ best stuff

Earth, Wind, Fire, and ……Poop

Mr. Smooth

boring, dull, tedious, unexciting, monotonous, humdrum Oh also a total waste of time

Marginally better than yesterday‘s album, but not by much and not buy enough to earn an additional star.

Meh

The sorta sold out and I don’t mean tickets

One of the best albums of ALL time

Either lost at sea or down the rabbit hole

Kinda bizarre, but mostly OK

The redheaded stranger always tells a good story

Good rock and roll

JLH always produces but with additional artists aboard this album is outstanding

Other than interesting rhythms and instrumentations, a total lack of any redeeming social value

When I saw that there were a fair number of instrumentals tracks my hopes were buoyed however my hopeswere not to be; even the instrumentals were FUBAR (there should be a zero star rating available)

An absolutely fantastic beginning for an incredible rock ‘n’ roll journey through the ages

Not a big grunge fan, but don’t hate it either

IMO “Pretty boring” is kind

Pretty decent rock ‘n’ roll

Ahh, very reminiscent of misspent college days

I generally like country music; these guys, not so much

Emmylou always delivers; no exception with this one

Too much noise to be really enjoyable

Not the best, but better than a lot

Low tide on this one; no need to wax the boards

Had to speed listen; not much there
