Popular Reviews

Maybe it was just because Outkast's Stankonia was the one right before this, but I just wasnt impressed. Felt like I had heard it all before while this being my first lesson. Was a long album too to make it more tedious. Thought some songs would sound good, but then they would keep going.

Hard Again by Muddy Waters
Jun 09 2026

Really enjoyed the album. Lots of great blues licks throughout. A little samey by the end of the album

Siamese Dream by The Smashing Pumpkins
Jun 11 2026

All time great album. Would be any other bands best album, but SP also did Mellon Collie

The Bends by Radiohead
Jun 12 2026

Great album, not my fav radiohead

Born To Run by Bruce Springsteen
Jun 15 2026

One of the all time best albums. All heat, no skips

Hotel California by Eagles
Jun 16 2026

Eh, just not an eagles fan. Feels like rock with the rough edges sounded off to appeal to the most people.

Let It Bleed by The Rolling Stones
Jun 18 2026

Fantastic album. Not my favorite stones, but you can hear where there were and what they were evolving to in this album. Still think Sticky Fingers and Some Girls is better, but nothing wrong with this album.

LP1 by FKA twigs
Jun 19 2026

Not for me. Just kinda eh. Not my uaual speed

Off The Wall by Michael Jackson
Jun 22 2026

Not good enough to overcome the dissonance of the person behind the album

Meat Is Murder by The Smiths
Jun 23 2026

Good album, a little meandering compared to the other smiths albums, but a banger nonetheless

Connected by Stereo MC's
Jun 24 2026

Enjoyed this way more than I thought I would. Fav track was Everything

Achtung Baby by U2
Jun 25 2026

Probably like a 3.5. Not the worst U2. Its creative and self indulgent in good ways, I just prefer the earlier stuff more.

Station To Station by David Bowie
Jun 26 2026

I love all Bowie, and this is him at the coked up best. Just all killer no filler. Not quite Ziggy Stardust or Low, but better than most artists can make.

Superfly by Curtis Mayfield
Jun 29 2026

REALLY enjoyed this. Definitely will be coming back to this one. Just groovy and fun listen.

The Man Machine by Kraftwerk
Jun 30 2026

Honestly, enjoyed it, but its not something I see myself wanting to listen to again. Appreciate the influence though and some really interesting sounds

Eagles by Eagles
Jul 01 2026

Ehhhh outside of Take it Easy, not a fan. Just not huge on the Eagles. Still just feels SO safe and like eating unsweetend vanilla ice cream: inoffensive, but why when there are much better options.

The Modern Lovers by The Modern Lovers
Jul 02 2026

Really dug this. Felt very Clash mixed with Velvet Underground to me. Will definitely revisit, so rating might change from initial gut listen.

Maxinquaye by Tricky
Jul 03 2026

Cool vibes, and I reading the wiki description I get why its on the list, but not for me. I few songs I did really like, but probably wont come back. Black Steel was the best song.

You Want It Darker by Leonard Cohen
Jul 06 2026

Enjoyed it, but dont see myself coming back to it regularly

Appetite For Destruction by Guns N' Roses
Jul 07 2026

This is one of those albums that was foundational for me growing up, so I always will think highly of it. That said, it still is all killer no filler. Too bad some of the songs are overplayed, but damn does My Michelle and Mr Brownstone still rip. Taking the album as it is, to me it a perfect "Rock" album.

Dr. Octagonecologyst by Dr. Octagon
Jul 08 2026

Eh, music was good but the rap part wasnt my taste.

Jul 09 2026

I cant imagine how hard this hit in 1962. You can tell James Brown was a true front man and could command a crowd. Listening as someone disconnected from the album though, the music left a bit to be desired. Nothing even negative, more "yep sounded nice, moving on"

Isn't Anything by My Bloody Valentine
Jul 10 2026

It was fine. Ive only heard Loveless before and that was better. Not sure why both need to be on the list, but not annoying to listen to. 2.5 stars, but giving 3 to boost the rating, cause a 2 feels harsh.

Illmatic by Nas
Jul 11 2026

Honestly really enjoyed this more than I thought. Great flow, beat and classic 90s rap lyrics. Not big on Rap, but I can absolutely see myself spinning this one again.

Debut by Björk
Jul 12 2026

Fun album, honestly not as weird as I expected based on reactions to Bjork. I was halfway expecting poppier Residents. Was fun experimental pop though.

Sunshine Hit Me by The Bees
Jul 15 2026

Like lofi before it was lofi became a youtube essential. Baffled how this is on the list.

Savane by Ali Farka Touré
Jul 16 2026

Really dont know how to rate this one. So outside my wheelhouse, but I'll give it a 3 for the talent it had to take.

Stankonia by OutKast
Jul 18 2026

Not gonna lie, loved this. Never heard it before but it was great. Definitely will re-listen later, but one of the best rap albums ive ever heard.

Jul 22 2026

Maybe it was just because Outkast's Stankonia was the one right before this, but I just wasnt impressed. Felt like I had heard it all before while this being my first lesson. Was a long album too to make it more tedious. Thought some songs would sound good, but then they would keep going.

Boston by Boston
Jul 24 2026

Good pop rock album, just overplayed to me

The Chronic by Dr. Dre
Jul 25 2026

I still believe this is the best rap album of all time.

Butterfly by Mariah Carey
Jul 29 2026

lol only got 1 song in and turned it off
