Very Upbeat and big horns. Rather than bluesy. I like a more mellow, slow blues with wistful guitars. Too upbeat. 2.5 out of 5

Better than I remember. Robert Smith is a little too moody emo, whiney. But i thought the music was good and thumpy. 4 out of 5

Watermelon man was cool, but otherwise it was a bit too out there for me. Too jazzy. Too funky. If it was toned down, I would like it more.

Hard to listen to as even as the a most casual music listener, some of these songs have been overplayed. Still her voice is great, the songs are well written and let her shine. Good album. 4 out of 5.

The best. The hits are mega hits. The songs you consider not hits are great and by the end of those you say to yourself - that was a really great song. Then a mega hit song comes on and you are floored. 5 out of 5.

The samples were too much. When those mellowed out, it was listenable but otherwise was just annoying. The flute song kilo was good.

This album feels like you had to experience it in real time to appreciate it. Computerized drum beats, while novel at the time, feel cheap now. It got that hypnotic vibe but if you play a 5+ minute long drum beat with female vocal, I think it's just a matter of construction. The weird ocean song was different. It wasn't bad but not something I will revisit. 2 out of 5.

All time great album. I love Neil's clawhammer styler guitar. So powerful. The songs and lyrics hold up. 5 out of 5.

He has a good voice. "Because of the wind" and "West Texas Waltz" were good. Most felt like routine county songs. 3 out of 5.

"Making Plans" was good. Nothing great here for me. I think I rather listen to eaches solo, more pop focused records. I suppose if you are a fan of each artist, then getting them on one album would be exciting. 3 out of 5

Enjoyable, as I like all of Steely Dan's albums, but it does not have a killer song. I enjoyed the different styles and odd lyrics. It's a nice 70's rock change of pace. 4 out of 5.
