My Aim Is True by Elvis Costello

Too poppy. Not punky or new wave. Maybe just fast pop rock. Alison is good, but that's the slowest song on the album. Otherwise feels like it tries too hard. 2 out of 5.

Live At The Regal by B.B. King
Jul 22 2026

Very Upbeat and big horns. Rather than bluesy. I like a more mellow, slow blues with wistful guitars. Too upbeat. 2.5 out of 5

Pornography by The Cure
Jul 23 2026

Better than I remember. Robert Smith is a little too moody emo, whiney. But i thought the music was good and thumpy. 4 out of 5

Head Hunters by Herbie Hancock
Jul 24 2026

Watermelon man was cool, but otherwise it was a bit too out there for me. Too jazzy. Too funky. If it was toned down, I would like it more.

The Yes Album by Yes
Jul 27 2026

This album rocks. very enjoyable. different styles. good vocals. new instruments. 5 out of 5

Stand! by Sly & The Family Stone
Jul 28 2026

Decent album. Some toe tapping songs. 3.5 out of 5

The Score by Fugees
Jul 29 2026

The covers are great. The beats and music are great. The lyrics feel confrontational and harsh, not pleasure to listen to. 3 out of 5

Youth And Young Manhood by Kings of Leon
Jul 30 2026

Enjoyable garage rock. I don't like the lead singers voice. Like Lemmy's voice. But when he is hitting that fast, rougher songs, it works. Overall good album. 4 out 5.

Another Green World by Brian Eno
Jul 31 2026

Fantastic album. The guitar solo in St. Elmos fire. 5 out of 5

A Love Supreme by John Coltrane
Aug 03 2026

Too improvisational. Too disjointed. Too raw. I can't get into it after multiple listenings. Maybe there is something here for jazz nuts, but it's not very approachable at all. 1 out of 5.

21 by Adele
Aug 04 2026

Hard to listen to as even as the a most casual music listener, some of these songs have been overplayed. Still her voice is great, the songs are well written and let her shine. Good album. 4 out of 5.

Hounds Of Love by Kate Bush
Aug 06 2026

When it is good, it is really good. when it is weird, it is really weird. Feels so theatrical. I like her voice and more "normal" songs, but she gets too out there a lot of the time. 3 out of 5

OK Computer by Radiohead
Aug 07 2026

Great album. Weird, but so good. Best listened as an album. 5 out of 5

Maggot Brain by Funkadelic
Aug 10 2026

The first half is amazing. Second half not so much, but that first half makes up for it. Great album. 5 out of 5

My Aim Is True by Elvis Costello
Aug 11 2026

Too poppy. Not punky or new wave. Maybe just fast pop rock. Alison is good, but that's the slowest song on the album. Otherwise feels like it tries too hard. 2 out of 5.

Rumours by Fleetwood Mac
Aug 12 2026

The best. The hits are mega hits. The songs you consider not hits are great and by the end of those you say to yourself - that was a really great song. Then a mega hit song comes on and you are floored. 5 out of 5.

Floodland by Sisters Of Mercy
Aug 13 2026

Cool album. Kinda Cure-ish with more computer drums and a deeper singer. Liked it. Felt like it could be more club music focused. 4 out of 5.

Hot Buttered Soul by Isaac Hayes
Aug 14 2026

Walk on by is a great song. All the songs are wonderful. 5 out of 5.

Highway 61 Revisited by Bob Dylan
Aug 15 2026

Like a Rolling Stone is a classic. I just can't get over Bob Dylan's voice. 2 out of 5.

Hot Fuss by The Killers
Aug 16 2026

I knew most of the songs even though I never owned it. A little over produced in spots but overall very impressive. 4.5 out of 5

Songs Of Love And Hate by Leonard Cohen
Aug 17 2026

Too Bob Dylan-ish in terms of singing style. I wish it had more of a band than just a guitar for most of the songs. But Diamonds in The Mine and Joan of Arc were rather good. 3 out of 5

Tres Hombres by ZZ Top
Aug 18 2026

Fantastic album. Listenable bluesy hard rock. Lagrange is a perfect song. 5 out of 5.

Led Zeppelin by Led Zeppelin
Aug 19 2026

Fantastic album. Bluesy - heavy - fast - slow. Just awesome songs. If you told someone that has never heard of LZ this was a best of album, they would believe you. At least 5 all-time great songs on one album. Fantastic in every aspect. 5 out of 5.

Aug 20 2026

The samples were too much. When those mellowed out, it was listenable but otherwise was just annoying. The flute song kilo was good.

Autobahn by Kraftwerk
Aug 21 2026

Interesting album. It does get hypnotic at times. But is it something I enjoyed and wanted to relisten to? Not really. Might make good work music. 3 out of 5.
