Idk man. To its credit and disservice half of this album was just listening to the classic rock radio stations of my childhood. They have style, they're clean and energetic pop/rock songs. I could see how exciting this would have been fresh but it just seems less interesting to me in 2026
Marquee Moon is such a good song, and I really liked Torn Curtain too
Hard to explain but some of the songs were a little too aggressive for me. Love The Band and love a lot of these songs that I both already did or didn't know but this is probably like a 3.5 for me
They will forever be one of the coolest most singular bands imo. I've heard a lot of these songs but this is my first time listening through on the album and I love it

This is 3.5 really. Fun to revisit my dad's music that I loved when I was 16. I really liked two songs I wasn't familiar with at all. I would've loved this in high school definitely. It's good, just not really for me anymore
Haven't listened to this since college but man this is cool. Side A had me feeling like I was deep in a K hole and trying to crawl my way out but even that was a good experience.
I remember Ice T's influence on the rappers of my childhood but I know him mostly as the Law and Order guy. It was really fun to see him in his prime.
There is nothing wrong with this album. A fun listen when I'm in the mood. But What A Wonderful World is still the only song I will return to probably
Zappa kicks ass. A very cool philosophy professor told me when I was younger that Zappa was a fraud and Captain Beefheart was the real deal so I never listened to this. I'm glad I did
Honestly this should be a 4.5/5. This helped me realize that I've mostly only listened to random songs from either them or Parliament. With the exception of Maggot Brain but holy shit this album rules. Grooveallegiance really blew me away

This frankly goes way harder than I remembered. So full of great pop sounds but all very strange. All I remembered from the Berlin years was the really atmospheric shit. This is so good
A fine album. A lot of the hits hold up and plenty of the songs are great they just don't comp to the rest of their career. I will say it is very bold for them to name the album not just after the worst track on the record but one of the worst songs I've ever heard

I want to know that this random album generator understands there are albums releases by bands that aren't Deep Purple and I did not need to listen to two in a month. That being said I was actually delighted by this and liked it way more than Machine Head despite knowing none of the songs

3.5 for me I think. I think when I listen to Talking Heads I am wanting more of their pop friendly jams. I liked a lot of the songs I didn't know. Drugs was weird in the best way. Just not what I was hoping for
There's a certain kind of weird guy that Captain Beefheart is really the best of. Better than Zappa, better than Tom Waits. Sick little freak. Love it. 3.75-4
