horrible album. Wild horses sounded like what i imagine saloons played in the 1700s, and wouldnt be suprised if the horses genuinely joined in singing. If i wanted to listen to this music I would turn on the red dead redemption 2 house building song. will never listen to this again.
The instrumentals on revolution blues and other songs is fantastic. If this album was only instrumentals it would be better. Ambulance blues is a horrible song that genuinely brings down the rest of the album. I dont know why this song was even made or what the point of adding it to this album was. It was the last song, which left me on an extremely sour note. He literally says in the song "its hard to say the meaning of this song" SO WHY DID YOU MAKE IT??? 8 MINS FOR WHAT ?? best song: on the beach. worst song: ambulance blues
This dude is ripoff Frank Sinatraa, just listen to him instead. No songs were offensively bad, and the album as a whole was very uninteresting. There were no tracks that stood out to me, and the album cover is just okay. Best song: The World's Strongest Man. Worst song: Rhymes of Goodbye. Will not be listening again.
Great album, however you can tell it is dated. The mixing is all over the place in this album, the vocals in "nowhere man" were only in my right ear, meanwhile the vocals in "what goes on" were only in my left. The logo for the album is fantastic, but the cover itself is a bit boring. Best song: Run for your life. Worst song: Nowhere man.
Fantastic album with an amazing cover. A little long to listen to in one sitting, but that makes sense because its a double album. I like the woman backing vocals on "play in the sunshine", some of the solos were extremely well-done. The production was off the charts and it was generally just great to listen to. The first 3 songs were amazing and the rest of the album is decent. Best Song: Play in the Sunshine. Worst Song: "The Cross".
One of the best instrumental albuns ive heard (initially). The album cover looks like it was discovered from an ancient aztec temple and its lowkey revolting to look at. The first 4 songs are great, but it quickly falls off from there, everything "A touch of the night" and after is... just alright. Some of the final songs sound like that one broken minecraft disk. Best song: Into the paradise. Worst song: The Monkey King.
The first 2 songs were pretty good, but "run charlie run" is obviously problematic. "Papa was a rolling stone" was a little long, but not bad. Nothing in this album really stood out, nt even the best and worst songs. Nevertheless, Best song: Funky music sho nuff turns me on. worst song: I aint got nothin'.
So many amazing songs on this album its unreal. Sierra Leone, Sweet Life, Pyramids, Bad Religion, the list is literally as long as the album. Mr. Ocean has an angelic voice, its like this guy was singing out the womb. I would recommend this album to anyone, regardless if they are familiar with the genre. The album cover is simple, but classic. If it wasnt Frank Ocean, it would be uncreative, but somehow this man makes this cover look full. Best Song: Pyramids. Worst Song: Super Rich Kids.
Great album that has dated lyrics. The writing is all over the place, however it has very memorable songs. I had multiple songs in my head after listening, Big Poppa, Machine Gun Funk, Gimme the Loot, Ready to Die were amazing songs. The theming of the album is good, but it could have done with 3 less songs. All of the songs mostly talk about the same thing, but it just sounds great. I do not care for the album cover this time around. I understand how this man is in consideration to be the best rapper of all time, but personally not my favorite. Fantastic album cover. The remastered 2010 version had quality sound, and captured John Lennon's voice pretty well. Not much to say about the album except its pretty predictable from him. This album is exactly as I imagined. Hahahaha!!!!! It is though. Best song: Imagine. Worst Song: How do you sleep?
Abattoir Blues is great, particularily the back half, but The Lyre of Orpheus is boring. Good album cover, I wish the flowers filled the whole page, but I understand the sytlistic choice. Would have rated a 3 if Lyre of Orpheus was just a bit better. Best song: There She Goes My Beautiful World. Worst Song: Easy Money
They thought they were so tough naming themselves The Band. The album name doesnt even make sense, why didnt they name it The Album? Probably because they knew blackpink would make a better album. The album cover looks like 5 coal workers after a long day in the mines. I like the trumpets on across the great divide. Some good songs on here, Rockin' chair and Look out Cleveland. Best Song: Up On Cripple Creek Worst Song: Jawbone.
This album cover is really boring, would have been slightly better without the songs written on it, but of course it makes sense because of how vinyls were printed. The background music of "Night Life" sounds better than the singing, even with it only in my right ear. There are some genuinely great themes of loneliness and isolation on this album on songs like "The Twenty-Fourth Hour" and "A Girl in the Night" but unfortunately this album just boils down to an "I can fix her" kind of album. Ray Price speaks like he can save this girls life by marrying her, but she seems to be doing just fine on her own. He speaks about how a drinking problem seperated him from her in "Sittin' and Thinkin'" but in the song he says that even if he got back together with her, he cannot promise he wont drink and ruin her life again. Unbelievable. I really wish this album focused more on the loneliness aspect, both from Ray and this girl who works at the HonkyTonk bar. It was really interesting to hear about someone who is extremely appreciated while working, however becomes lonely the moment shes off the clock. Best Song: The Twenty-Fourth Hour. Worst Song: Sittin' and Thinkin'
Great album cover, I really enjoy the wavelike texture in the background. Tortoise is in a nice blue compared to the color of the cover. Djed is really the only listenable song here, for an instrumental album its average. I would rather listen to some videogame soundtracks instead than listen to this again. Instrumental is pretty difficult to mess up, so by default its average. Best Song: Djed. Worst Song: Along the Banks of Rivers.
Good album cover, seems generic to me, but thats because this style was popularized through Billy Joel. Movin'Out and Scenes from an Italian Resturaunt, Restruaunt, Restruant are extremely memorable tracks. In particular The saxaphone on italian, and the entire album was some of the best usage ive ever heard. Personally not for me, will not be listening to again, but would not dread doing so. I can see why Billy Joel has a fanbase all these years later. Best Song: Scenes from an Italian Resturant. Worst Song: Everybody has a Dream.
Top 10 album cover. Beautiful colors, imagery, lighting. The album is not much worse, starting off extremely strong. One of the best pop albums I have listened to, has some of her best songs on it. The album cover is ok, I like the stamp on it, but its boring otherwise. Extremely Fun album, could not take this seriously and was smiling the whole time. I couldnt tell if this a genuine gang rap album or a parody. Starting with a sword fight as a british rapper is extremely funny, some of the skits were so un-tough that they became laughable, and there is alot of them. The lyrics in this album really put it over the top, almost every song has a lyric which made me pause the song and laugh. For example, [Im the X factor, and unlike Simon on the show, im not pushing buttons.] followed by a loud buzzer. Amazing choice there. The backing tracks were genuinely great, if this guy wasnt british and I took him seriously, it would not be so funny. Assuming this is somewhat of a parody, easily a 5, but just because I'm not sure, its a 4. If this is a genuine attempt to be tough, this is an absolute 0, he gave me the impression of an absolute jokester. Best Song: Shutdown. Worst Song: Corn on the Curb.
Boring album cover, looks like something I would take as an end to a gambling night. If it wasnt for the lame album cover, this would likely be a 5 for me. This is a fantastic jazz album, no notes, one of the best I have heard. I really enjoy the vocals on the first song, and its length as well. Literally the only thing holding this back from a 5 is the cover. Best Song: Carnival of the Night. Worst Song: The Hustler.
Generational album cover. Genuinely terrible album. As my first David Bowie album, I was extremely dissapointed. I have heard about him all my life, but this album is straight nothing for me. Not a single song really stood out for me, Aladdin Sane (the song) has some of the WORST piano I have ever heard. Put a 5 year old on the piano and I bet they could play better with their feet. This is only rated a 2 because of the incredible album cover. Best Song: Drive-In Saturday. Worst Song: Aladdin Sane.
Really bad album. Something about the cover does not sit right with me. Did not like the french, tone, backing tracks, or instruments at all. By song 3 I wished that this was over. This isnt just because its in an unfamiliar language either, I genuinely listen to k-pop in my regular rotation and attend concerts reguarly despite not knowing an ounce of korean. If you want to listen to decent french music, listen to the Clair Obsur Expedition 33 soundtrack. Lumiere beats blows this entire album out of the water skyhigh. Ok album cover, on the verge of being bad. This album is pretty generic, it blends into exactly what I imagine when I think of rock. While some may think of this as a good thing, for me, it is boring. This clearly has some merit to it, but personally I would never listen to this again. Not much else to say. Given a 2 and not a 1 because its not bad at all, just not for me. It did feel a little short. Best Song: Love Removal Machine. Worst Song: Memphis Hip Shake.
W album cover. Imagining what went through the talks about what to make it is really funny to me. First they thought about mount rushmore, realized there were 5 members, and just stuck the 5th one on there anyways. It just such a dumb idea it works. This album is pretty short except for "Child in Time". Overall its pretty middle of the road, but it definetly has some style to it. Would not look at someone strange if they gave this a 4 or even a 5. Best Song: Speed King. Worst Song: Hard Lovin' Man.
Cool idea for an album cover, seen better in other ones. For 1971, its pretty unique though, I like it. The album on the other hand, not so much. There are so many nonsense lyrics in here that speak like Gene Clark knows everything. An example of this is on the song 'Where my Love Lies Asleep' (creepy song name btw) "As she enters the doorway of dreams drifting free Lightning's flash, rivers roar Round the island she's sleeping and the Echoes soul". Genuinely feel like I have to decipher english literature to understand what Clark is talking about, something I do not enjoy particularly. Really truly can not show enough hatred for these lyrics, just complete nonsense, and if this was made in 2026, I genuinely would have written these off as ai-generated. Does not injure my ears to listen to though (except for the harmonica on "For a Spanish Guitar". Best Song: White Light. Worst Song: For a Spanish Guitar.
Interesting cover, a little weird to have in the library. This album is great though, some of the best guitar solos ive heard, almost one per song. Some great songs on here too, Today, Rocket, and Hummer were some of my favorites. I really enjoyed how the guitar and drums on Rocket genuinely felt like a rocket taking off. Unfortunately not the biggest fan of the voice, thats the only reason why this album is not a 5. Absolutely understand how someone gives this a 5 though. Best Song: Rocket. Worst Song: Quiet.
The cover is boring, just like the album itself. This is not music. Straight up. I would not even call this an album. Tom Waits talked for over an hour of the 1hr 13min runtime. And I mean it. He talked. I cannot imagine this guy "performing" at a concert with an audience. Intros to every major song on the album is something neat (theres a reason its not popular though). Also I will admit, the transtions were incredible, borderline impossible to tell when one song was over and another one was beginning. As a comedy club recording this still would have sucked, but would have been the appropriate medium. How this got on this list is beyond me. Best "Song": Eggs and Sausage (In a Cadillac with Susan Michelson). Worst "Song": Emotional Weather Report.
Decent album cover, nothing special unfortunately, unlike some of radioheads other covers. This album has some memorable songs, pretty much the first 3. Packt like Sardines in a Crushd Tin Box, Pyramid Song, Pulk/Pull Revolving doors. The most interesting song is definetely Pulk/Pull Revolving doors, it sounds completely different from the rest of the album, and for ball knowers, it sounds like an escape room from Zero Escape. Not radioheads best work certainly, but this album shows they have potential in their others. Best Song: You and Whose Army? Worst Song: Life in a Glasshouse.
The album cover is very noisy, not sure how one would draw this on a paper. Its okay, personally I do not like it. "Mr. Self Destruct" is extremely fast, much faster than the rest of the album, which is already fast itself. Some of the songs are quieter, which I do prefer. "The Becoming" sounds like fighting the Others in Scarlet Nexus (Knowers know). Good album all around, not a 5 because its just not for me. Best Song: A Warm Place. Worst Song: Big Man with a Gun.
Album cover is great, initially I did not care for it, but the covee actually suits the album well. One thing I really enjoyed is that the words spin circularly around Africa when the songs are playing. This album is very feminist, which is pretty cool for the time. I would rather listen to this 100 times over then ANY modern female rappers (Ice Spice, Cardi b, Megan Thee Stallion) genuinely all terrible. Queen Latifah is an artist that is extremely interesting to listen to, she has a great flow and speaks pretty cleanly. Her lyrics are generic on the surface, but actually are not bad at all, and each song is extremely focused. Each song contributes to the overall message of women empowerment, which was a novelty in the hiphop house space at the time. I was surprised to find out she only has around 2M monthly listeners on Spotify, because she is such an influential artist, both in her music and her message. And, for the first time in the history of music, genuinely good remixes at the end of the album. I listened to this twice today, and will be listening to it again. Best Song: Come into my House. Worst Song: Evil that Men do.
Album cover is okay, way worse than On the Beach. This album is short, but thats welcome because its also middle of the road. I liked Birds, Tell me Why, When you Dance I can Really Love. Neal Young is just alright to me, wouldnt listen to this guy again unless I had to, which I likely will because this guys got mad glazers. Best Song: When you Dance I can Really Love. God I hate this album cover. They all look like the same dude and I would absolutely wipe the hallways with their mopheads. Why is one guy on the bottom? Why does the guy in the top right look suprised he is in a picture? Just straight terrible. The album is Ok. Could not tell if they wanted the girl or wanted to be lonely. Half the songs are like "All my love goes to you" and the other half are "Dont let her talk to you shes got a devil heart". But these songs are in the album at random??? So they go from, I love you, I hate you, I love you, I hate you 14 times. Much better mixing on this one, and I did enjoy Devil in Her Heart. Little Child has to be one of the worst songs on their discography. Why are they wanting to dance with a little kid? Why are they saying they can rizz up a little kid? What were they thinking with this one, genuinely. Best Song: Devil in Her Heart. Worst Song: Little Child.
Due to the album cover and name, I thought this was going to be a metal/hard rock album. Now knowing that it isnt, the cover is not very compelling. I do really enjoy the logo for Pulp though, it blends nice into the cover and its just solid. This album is awful though. The first song is AMAZING, The vocals on The Fear is so great, if the rest of the album was like that, this would have been like a 4. Unfortunately this song just makes me disapointed at what could have been. Cannot stress enough how good the first song is compared to the rest of the album. Completely uninterested in the rest, not just because it didnt fit my preconceived notions of this album, but because its just bad. Best Song: The Fear. Worst Song: Dishes.
Great album cover, the lighting is tough af and the purples really go well together. The font choice on both the album and band are creative. This album is mediocre, not bad in the slightest. I do wonder how Blue Cheer got on this list though, at time of writing they have 50k monthly listeners, which is extremely low. Their top song is less than 10m streams and other than Summertime Blues, its 1.5m. This is not to say small artists do not belong in the top 1000, but how did they even get found? AND this was 1968. Wouldnt listen to this again, its good, but thats about it. The guitar solos were not fantastic, especially not great on Second Time Around, but I do like the singers voice. In Parchment Farms he sings about shooting his wife and how nobody cared she was gone. Interesting song choice there. Best Song: Summertime Blues. Worst Song: Parchment Farms.
Great-looking album cover. Wondering how she made something like this in 1995. This is very much a hit album, its got 3 amazing songs, You Oughta Know, Hand in My Pocket, Ironic. Everything else is great, but not excellent. The first song is ok, not my favorite. Her voice is really interesting to listen to and shes got creative lyrics. The remix isnt bad, AND its the perfect length, she got everything she needed to say within it. I added some songs to my real playlist. Best Song: You Oughta Know. Worst Song: All I Really Want
Most 2000s album cover, looks like they just opened illustrator and found the coolest font. Still looks kind of unique. Squares is a highlight for sure, and Gone, Broke are great as well. I enjoy the names of all the songs, and overall its a good album. Eclipse lasted a little long, and overall was not very interesting to me. Good instrumental album, but generally not the biggest fan of instrumental. Best Song: Broke. Worst Song: Eclipse.
Really enjoy the album cover. Its got a funny story to it too, about paying this random 3y/o $100 to look inside a local window. The mom even told her there were animals in there so she would look more curious. Blister in the Sun is fantastic, I like Ugly and thats about it. Everything else is alright. Sometimes the public makes bad songs popular, but not this time, Blister in the Sun is a good pick. This album is great to have in the background while I was doing other things. Best Song: Blister in the Sun. Worst Song: Add It Up.
Cool album cover. This album is good, but has some weird quirks to it. Firstly the piano on "I am Trying to Break your Heart" is bad and the song has bad lyrics. Just not a great start. Everything else is pretty good, Kamera is good, i like the idea of smashing the cameras and the overall beat. Pot kettle Black is also a standout. War on War isnt good, it had many repeated lyrics, which can be good, but just wasnt in this case. Not much to say here except its pretty average. Best Song: Pot Kettle Black. Worst Song: War on War.
Interesting cover, wish the group name was a bit more unique. This album is great though, Unfortunately off to a bad start with Alone Again Or, which does not realise that headphones have a left and right ear. Other than that this is pretty interesting. Most of the songs are about events had by the observer. Small things, like seeing a girl with pigtails on the street bouncing around, or a blue bird landing on his property. Very interesting to sing about everyday events, usually something people do not touch on. Old Man and Red Telephone focus on random events too, but these ones sound more like they are from a musical, which I certainly have never heard on an album before. Live and Let Live had some... questionable lyrics, one about his snot drying on his pants. You Set the Scene had a powerful and memorable guitar backing. Unfortunately for me, the best song happened to be the longest by name. Best Song: Maybe the People Would Be the Times or Between Clark and Hilldale. Worst Song: Live and Let Live.
Album cover is strange, could have maybe just picked 1 of the 16 available and went with that. Personally 3:1 and 4:4 are my favorites. This album is completely nothing to me. Looking over the songlist, I genuinely cannot remember a single track, lyric, or ANYTHING about this album at all. This is nothing to say of the quality however, its still decent. I would not look at a person strangly for liking this, but for me, I just absolutely did not find this interesting in the slighest. So much so, that I found it very difficult to even pick my favorite and least favorite songs. Best Song: One. Worst Song: So Cruel.
Bad cover, ugly and boring. This album is not great, it has so many unmemorable tracks, and it genuinely gave me a headache. This album is very irish, which I was not the biggest fan of. Dragged on somehow even though it was only 45mins. Best Song: The Sick Bed of Cuchulainn. Worst Song: And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda.
Disgusting album cover, I really hate it. For an icelandic album, its pretty good. This album NEEDS to be played at full volume. Playing this with the windows down at midnight driving around has got to be absolute peak. Otherwise its just alot of noise, it really does not work well with headphones. There were times where I had to close my eyes and listen to the sounds. Best Song: Viõrar vel til Loftárása. Worst Song: Olsen Olsen.
The album cover is generic. Does not really say much and is not interesting. The first couple songs of this album are great, but the fall-off is not as bad, however it is still there. Overall a groovy album, and suprisingly their main song (September) not on this album, sounds very similar to what is presented here. I am suprised that Earth, Wind, & Fire does not have another MASSIVE song. Best Song: Africano. Worst Song: Yearnin' Learnin'.
Really bad album cover. Could not see any part of it without zooming in, which is obviously a downside. Other then that, this album is fantastic. Black Cauldron is a GREAT start to the album, and throughout the whole thing are some excellent songs. Old Fort Steel Trail, Field Song, and Heavy Foot are some highlights. I really enjoy that this album is topical. It speaks heavily on modern day issues, which makes sense as a 2026 album. Between the political commentary and government criticism, it really felt super relevant. Felt good to the ears as well. Only reason this is not a 5 is because of the album cover and some of the songs being a little forgettable. Best Song: Field Song. Worst Song: Code of Many Colors
