1. his voice alternates between being kind of annoying and kind of charming constantly 2. We Will Fall is really good and holy shit its from 1969?? but also why is it after the first two songs. 1969 and I Wanna Be Your Dog (relateable am i rite) are both bangers and the momentum gets stopped in its tracks for 10 minutes. 3. also it doesnt help that the middle section doesnt have quite the same spark imo. picks up at the end though 4. the guitar sounds on here are really sick. the right channel wah guitar in 1969 goes fucking bonkers badonkers what the hell 5. thats it :)

honestly i wasnt expecting to ever listen to this. not much of a pink floyd fan and the whole album seemed a tiny bit exploitative to me? upon listening it's actually really good! lot of nice melodies and pretty guitar here.

lots of really cool colorful stuff on here (opener is really good, queen of eyes feels like a beatles song but with jangly guitars) but unfortunately i cannot in good conscious give anything with "i got the hots" above an 8.

most of this is just very comfy normal folk pop but there are a couple songs that just burst into loud brassy jazz pop partway through and its always a complete suprise. fuckin wild. good album

9/10. the 18 minute track is a bit much but the first half of this is pure fucking quality. Peaches en Regalia is blissful, the guitar textures on Willie the Pimp are insane, and Son of Mr. Green Genes is just a really fun time the whole way through. after that it loses a bit of steam, but not that much. it's super psychedelic and just a really good time? glad it's instrumental too

thank you 1001 albums for the two 1995 britpop albums in a row. theres at least one more too./ wha tthe heck!!! anyway this is significantly better than different class, much more consistent, more good songs. not quite a 9 still but i could see myself relistening to this one much sooner. "alright" is excellent. theres a ton of other jams here. were not supposed to is weirdly pitched up. fucking nightcore shitg. for some reason the production on this album makes it sound like its from the 60s. album cover reinforces this vibe since it looks kinda 50s. anyway great album

9/10 when my dad still lived in virginia w/ me, whenevr he had the radio on during car rides it was almost always a station playin 60s or 70s music. (usually 60s i think? also at one point a beatles channel was made and u kno he ate that shit up.) so basically whenever i hear radio-friendly 60s music i get kinda warm n fuzzy inside. this album is already gorgeous and filled with amazing melodies so when u add on the fact that a few songs from this got played on that 60s station its kinda like. oh damn.

7/10. this album is pretty heavy n stuff but it doesnt totally click with me. i think just because of the audio quality? idk if its just the mono mix that i got but it sounds even fuzzier and harder to make out than a lot of 60s stuff already does. plus the songs themselves arent amazing imo, tend to go on for a while. by a bit before halfway thru it just felt like a ton of fuzzy psychedelic noise goin in one ear and out the other. might just be bc i have trouble focusing on stuff though.

ok basically back on schedule now! been putting this album off for a while because tbh i was scared i wouldnt "get it" (hip hop is still not quite my genre of choice) but nah this bangs. mr nas raps way too fast for me to get everything hes saying but like the rapping is great and the beats are also really good so who cares? and when i can make out the lyrics theyre pretty great. lifes a bitch is basically perfect. not every beat hits it outta the park for me (one love) but its still fairly consistent just bc nas is really fucking good the entire time. dont get the love for the genesis though. feels like a bit of a superfluous intro. mayb i simply dont get it.

9/10. no idea why this site wants me to listen to so much 90s music but im not complaining. seriously like half of these fucking albums have been 90s. what the hell! anyway this album is great. i wrote a more serious "review" on my rym top 200 list but aside from scentless apprentice this is super good and connects with me kinda hard. probably needs a relisten!

another fucking 90s album are you fucking kidding me. oh my GOD. listened late relative to when i woke up. 11pm. not that late but im still fuckin rtired bc i woke up at like 8. this is a good thing because it gives me more time with my girlfriend star (or yufi? not sure which shed rather be called here). the album is good too but not as good as my girlfriend. not rly a fair comparison though since no album is. sorry all you nerd asss bitches making music u cant even compare. anyway ummm this album is pretty cool. ive been tired this whole time so ive just been letting it wash over me. first 4 songs and the first taste are all really good, shadowboxer is my fav. rly good sound. idk. nice mixture of energetic and kinda dense and alternative and a tiny bit edgy with some piano grace and restraint. after that it leans too far into the slower side of things and its very pretty and shes a good singer but it doesnt hold my interest quiiite as much. it.s worth checking out this album though :)

feels older than it is, probly becuase hes a 90s hip hop dude and the recording apparently started in fuckin 2002. how the hell did this take so long to make?? like its pretty good but its not THAT good. solid tunes, was a good time.

OH MY GODDD this albums a 10 im just putting that on the table asap. its not because its consistent, cuz it aint. its probly my most inconsistent 10, but like..the sheer amount of ideas here overflowing thru every track is just overwhelming. i can never rly hate it. except 4 we luv deez hoes the chorus on that song is grating. also that guest verse on xplosion is fucking botdf-quality but with none of the charm. how!!!!! other th an that this is amazing. ms jackson has a rly interesting beat with choruses where everything just CLICKS. the verses feel chaotic and weird but then the chorus hits and it all just makes sense!!! b.o.b. is really cool too. but its a top 100 singvle on this site so who cares about it. the real shit: ill call before i come. very pretty song :) gangsta shit goes way harder than i expected btw. its one of the less original creative songs on this album but it doesnt matter cuz it fuckin goes/ the interludes are lame though

9/10 this is another one of em albums where i dont have much to say about it. just a really good nostalgic time. writing this mid day instead of night like usual so im not nearly as rambly. maybe thats the secret ingredient???????/ good to finally get another older album btw

9/10. had a low functioning day yesterday so im off schedule again. joy. was not lookign forward to this one since i listened to the first pet shop boys album a whiiile ago and was excruciatingly lukewarm towards it but this is great. mayb ive just grown to love that 80s sound more but i think this might just be better? shrug. mostly rly consistent, lots of cool sounds, being boring and to face the truth are probly gonna be lying-in-bed staples. the datedness is lovely and its all very pretty

fucked up notes for last album but it was good if repetitive, 7/10. yeah im playing double catch up witht this. about the same level of quality as last album too! not as consistent, but drags a lot less. some (a lot) of this is boring old white ppl music but as ive mentioned b4 my dads a boomer and played me a ton of his old white ppl music on the radio so like im partial to it. motherless children is still a great song! after that it varies between "pretty fun time" to the horrifically lame pop reggae track known only as willie and the hand jive. mostly a good time though. nothing especially attention getting for most of the runtime but its nice enough 7/10

album is pretty good too. not much to say about it. its warm and it grooves. would probly be more fitting on a sunny day and not a cloudy afternoon-almost-night but hey whatre u gona do ? 9/10

4got to mention last entry: 9/10s are now bein registered as 5s on here. 7s r 4s. 5s r 3s. etc etc its never bad but gets very repetitive. have trouble focusing on lyrics so if thats supposed to be this albums draw there aint much here for me. some of the beats are nice but most of them arent anything that impressive to me and they all kinda blend together. ice water is my fav track here and not suprisingly its also the one (sonically) least focused on being some dark gritty mafia bs. its just kind of a banger. anyway this is pretty good but drags a lil. not bad enough to be below an 8 so im giving it exactly that score. would rather be listenin to Insane Clown Posse - Riddle Box (1995) rn !!!!!!!!

albums pretty gfood btw. i dunno why everyone seems to love duran duran specificalley so much tho. some of these tracks r great but not all the hooks rly catch me . the production and synth tones n guitars r charming n all but like half the shit here isnt rly catchy at all. its a fun enough time i guess but i dont see it sticking with me that much. kinda saved by the grooves though. was just expecting more. shrug

albums good. apparently its progressive pop. i dont really know wtf prog pop is still but this album is poppy and it is pretty progressive so i can kinda get it. theres a lot of sudden stylistic switch-ups and weird song structures here, probly best illustrated in the opening three tracks (which is also my fav stretch of the album). the first two are filled with all sorts of different stylistically clashing sections that are really interesting together, and the third one is just kind of a breezy beachy tune with a long ambient intro. pretty much every track is unique. cool stuff! this sorta 70s classic rock sound is growing (back) on me tbh. im sure ive mentioned it before but i rly appreciate this site for like actively forcing me to listen 2 this shit lol

9/10 pretty sick album! i was a bit worried at first because of the mildly underwhelming opener and lame ass The Girl Is Mine (why the fuck are mj and paul mccartney competing for the same girl aint paul like 20 years older than mj is) but it picked up pretty quickly after. u already know how cool the middle three tracks are, but there are some kinda awesome deep cuts too!! human nature is super dreamy, and p.y.t. is rly slick and has some kinda weird vocal effects i didnt expect from 1982?? theres a REALLY sick synth in the chorus too, idk how to describe it but youll know it when you hear it. baby be mine is a jam too. honestly billie jean is in my bottom 4 of this album? most of this album is pretty solidly either a 9 or 10 but billie jean is bordering on an 8, the melodies are really really fucking good but it's a little spare for me. and yeah i probably wont be returning to the closer either. this could be a really solid album if a couple lame songs vanished from existance, never to return. lost to the void...FOREVER..................................... cool album

only found out yesterday that the foo fighters guy was in nirvana but apparently its common knowledge. wild. good album, just kinda take everything i say abt in utero but instead of being really noisy and raw this albums a bit more polished. personally i like this one more just since i kinda think the production fits how catchy the songs can be a bit more. also it doesnt have scentless apprentice on it so thats an automatic plus. tired rn but very good album 9/10

the past 2 acid rock albums ive heard were both pretty underwhelming, but this one was great!!! about half the album is taken up by one long continuous track, apparently it's a bo diddley cover? im gonna be honest ive never heard a bo diddley song i dont think. maybe one on the radio but thats it. the cover is really good though, it goes thru a ton of sections that're all pretty cool (Where You Love is some rly weird improvisational bs for 1969), and the guitar tones are really good. Mona isnt my favorite thing ever but it picks right back up after that! also worth mentioning: this is the first live album ive gotten from this site! not sure how many there are :o very nice guitar tones on here, cool noodling. most of it is instrumental (i kept forgetting there was a vocalist at all) so its pretty nice to put on in the background and just let it go wild in the back of ur brain. great stuff :D 9/10

the 50s are the first decade of music i really care about that much, and probably the first decade that's all that interesting outside of like a few notable albums or w/e. maybe someones gonna see this thats really really really into 40s music but i doubt it. if u are that person, please give me recommendations, i'd love to have my horizons expanded :D personally i think it makes since, the 50s are the first decade with many musicians that get referenced a lot. even if someone like frank sinatra or buddy holly or miles davis or whatever is fairly far removed at this point from modern music, u can probably still recognize their names. maybe ur even really into their music!!! i think one thing everyone can agree on, though, is that a lot of 50s music is kinda lame. either quality-wise, or just sort of intangibly lame. obviously this isnt a blanket statement but like...doo-wop, 50s pop, most 50s rock, all that stuff is kinda lame by now. it doesnt have to be in a bad way though!! this album is very lame and silly, but that's just part of the charm. it's fun!!! everything here is pretty simple, short, and focused on being catchy, and the full album is under a half hour. probably for the best. if u have it in u to enjoy old-ass rock music this is definitely worth a listen :P

i went into this knowing that it was singer/songwriter focused on satire, politics, history, etc etc. so i made sure to read the lyrics as i listened so that they wouldn't just pass me by like they usually do. sonically this is pretty, but not like, amazing or anything. lyrically, i can see what this is trying to do, and appreciate it (especially on songs like redneck or louisiana 1927 where it's more focused), but overall i think it's a little shallow? quite a few of these songs either don't really have anything to do with the theme at all, or are just sorta silly. maybe i dont have the context required to appreciate naked man and a wedding in cherokee county? if i was rating this on a purely sonic level it'd be, like, a high 7 or a looow 8, but the lyrics alternate between demanding too much attention and not meaning much at all, so to me they just bring the album down! still good, but not great. 7/10

wasnt expecting this to be the first manic street preachers album i listened to but thats just how it is with this bitch of a site . its pretty good. not planning on doing much music writing today so ill keep it short. i cant make out what the fuck theyre saying so maybe the lyrics are exclusively about how much they hate me, personally, but the guitars are pretty warm and enveloping and its a nice time. its catchy. u know how it is 9/10

really good album. i dont know enough about soul to comment much on it but its very pretty and has a really good aesthetic. barely drags which is kinda impressive for 71 minutes. god why was every 90s/early 2000s album so long. like i know its because of cds or whatever but whyyyy. ah well it doesnt really matter in this case. first couple tracks are magical and it doesnt ever rly reach that height but it stays at a consistently 9/10 zone for most of the runtime. good stuff 9/10

im gonna be honest it didnt even occur to me that music like this still happened in the 80s. like this sounds way more like some 70s bullshit with a couple synths thrown in every so often, which i guess makes sense because paul simon is the guy from simon and garfunkel, and i think most artists are always kinda stuck to the time of their peak to some degree. like in ten years i dont rly expect taylor swift to be at the cutting edge of pop music yknow? i dont mean any of this as a negative to the album, it just suprised me a little and the fact that this sounds like pretty nice 70s rock, with a bit of folk and strings and whatever else thrown in sometimes + a couple synths, is all i can think of to rly say about this album. its nice, its comfy, its kinda boring sometimes. cool stuff.

honestly the more jazz i listen to the cooler it gets. for a while i was just kinda averse to horns because i didnt like how they sounded but obviously thats not a problem anymore. then for a while after listening to kind of blue i was just like yeah thats pretty good maybe ill get into jazz someday. and i still dont think ive rly taken the plunge but thats fine, not everything has to be this huge-ass binge. maybe one day ill look back and realize oh shit! im a big jazz fan now! and make like fifty lists thatre just like The Best Jazz Albums Of 2034. Greatest Saxophonists Of The 2020s? Who Said Jazz Is Dead!?!?!?!? this album isnt my fav thing ever but its pretty consistent. i paid a little more attention this time around and im more impressed but not more of a fan necessarily, its cool but probably half of this album isn't mindblowing or anything. the other half also isnt mindblowing but its better. kathys waltz and everybodys jumpin are lots of fun, that one build-up in the second half of pick up sticks is euphoric, take five is mysterious and catchy. the pure drum+piano part is a liiittle long for me since im not big on drum solos but the horn part (idk what type of horn it is :() is perfect!!

this albums a little inconsistent. half of it is like garage rock punk rock bullshit that has some nice guitar tones but feels a little weak and lame, the other half is a bit lighter and honestly better. my fav stuff on here is the couple of jangle pop-y songs they are Quality. honestly i might just like jangle pop? worth exploring more. nothing here is rly bad anyways but its split between like amazing and light 8. album discussion over

wild how the 80s exist huh first track is lame but everything after is pretty great. everyone wants to rule the world is some of the best shit from the 80s prolly. this was before pop artists stopped making 6 minute songs so a couple songs drag a lil but never too bad since theyre all good anyways. 9/10

this album kinda OWNAGE maybe??????????????????????????????? fucking weird ass lo-fi sloppy as hell noise rock, especially for 1968. the last track is especially insane. like weird improvisational bullshit wasnt unprecedented (Jazz Music) but im pretty sure this is one of the first times a rock album sounded like this ? the hard panning on The Gift is annoying at first but i think it fits the songs fucked up vibe. honestly this album as a whole just has a super fucky vibe, feels completely out of touch with reality at times. majorly respect this for proceeding all the fucked up lofi nonsense i love 9/10

the early 80s were pretty fucking weird for music werent they? this album specifically is really like, weirdly minimal for pop. tainted love cover owns obv. albums not as horny as i was led to believe but maybe i just wasnt paying enough attention to the lyrics?? the synth tones and the underlying songs are nice, but im not huge on the production. it still has that sorta older style of production where its more supposed to sound like its being played live, so its not rly as loud and in ur face as i like synthpop/electropop to be. still jammin though. last track is particularly good.

folk music.......................good melancholic, kinda sleepy album. good fit since im tired rn and am usually vaguely sad if poked the right way. not much else to say. nice to have a more ""normal"" album after weird proto everything white light white heat and minimal weirdo pop non stop erotic cabaret. just Folk 9/10

jesus the first half of this is weird. it chills out a bit after that but the first like 5 songs and then a couple afterwards are simultaniously very dated to the late 90s while also being insanely ahead of their time. yo-yo is practically just deconstructed club but with 90s dance. theres ridiculous autotune vocals, sloppy singing about vampires or whatever, and the chorus has some insane glitchy sounds like ?????????? the more normal stuff is super sick too. being with u is super pretty, almost everything here is pretty jammin. the vocals are a little obnoxious on the first track but its mostly good. really cool 90s dance album with a few tracks thatre just kind of insane? Great Music 9/10

pretty sure i heard a couple of these tracks on the classic rock stations. listened to this after some major mood swings and it helped calm me down. Music Notes <3 lots of cool stuff here, theres a lotta folky stuff and a few songs that have rly cool structures without it feeling too overbearing or distracting from the simple poppiness. good stuff 9/10

the opener of this album is weird i wasnt into the first half at all but the second half was so stupidly good i had to go back and check like did i miss something? was i not paying enough attention?? but no it really is just that split in quality. golden years is really good, easily the best song here imo. not a single second of wasted space which is kind of hard for a lot of 70s rock apparently. like damn a lot of songs just went on and on didnt they. its not even a bad thing just nice to get a song thats actually compressed down like that. anyway the ballads arent bad at all, i see a lot of people saying theyre the worst songs here but disagreed. theyre dramatic enough to work. also i still have trouble telling what the fuck hes saying but apparently this is just a concept album about how pathetic some fascist dude is. wild 9/10

im pretty tired while writing this and my brain is a tiny bit fried from having to do school for the first time in months this morning + having to get up rly early + finishing a song. albums cool. it has good vibes. guitar tone is sick but a couple of the songs arent super great. evil woman is "boring lame hard rock" personified. last song kind of derails halfway through and doesnt pick back up again until near the end. mostly really sick though.

v drained 2day. not much to say. first side is amazing, hypnotic, etc, and even though the second half is generally weaker its still worth a 10 just for that first track alone. imagine listening to this when it came out in 1974 lmao

most of the songs here are individually really good (i like the gospel influences a lot) but as a whole this album is in a really weird place. it's too disjointed to really flow well at all, but it's too homogenous to use that as a strength (there's not that much difference between abattoir blues and the lyre besides one having electric guitar and one not). it doesnt help that its like 80 minutes long when all the progression is so disjointed. also theres enough albums that arent quite as good as the rest, or just have mediocre sections in them i cant give this anywhere near a bad score and maybe it just wasnt clicking hard enough but i cant help but feel like there was a better album here somewhere. w/e its still good just maybe not all at once

this album is cool i guess? im kind of a sucker for the 90s industrial sound but i dunno if this is really the best example of it. it kinda sucks actually. if i didnt love the sound so much this would suck. like half the tracks bang but when it tries to get slower it just doesnt work very much, plus its a little too long. i didnt feel the length that much but really only because i had to keep taking breaks in the first half and in the second half i was busy adding an album to rym. so w/e. also he drops the hard r in the CHORUS of the FIRST SONG what the fuck.

this is an albm that youre basically not supposed to think about so i wont. just kinda bangs. maybe a suprising opinion but makes sense if u think abt it ac/dc is really just the 70s version of shitty 2010s dance pop music which i also love. title track was featured in megamind (2010) so u kno its good 9/10
