Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Devo

Great satire delivered in solid music
Man this guy can sing! Loved it, and found some songs to be way more gospel-like than I expected but I dig it
This is kinda like Devo meets Bowie imo (but with a more pop vibe), I dig it!
They have some good songs but they're not on here, and it's all just british yelling over mediocre rock imo
Obvi so good! And finally a strong female presence!
So repetitive! Not a big fan, very proudly american and theatrical I'm on fire is p good tho, my fave
Damn! Everyone kills it in this group. Ozzy is legendary obvi, guitar wails (and solos are much better than van halen imo), bass is dark and rich, and drums take it to the next level. Love NIB, love it all
Solid, nice n bluesy at the extremities with rock n roll center. Favorite was probably You Make Me Real, followed by Peace Frog (but what a title!)
Solid rock album, fun vibes and lots of energy. Didn't know them before, so fun to discover!
Solid, great voice and character. Wouldn't listen to it every day tho
Pretty boring. Lots of wailing and not my fave
very fun, what a difference between without you and coconut. I liked early in the morning and jump into the fire best (sick bass and drums).
Very good, great flow. Songs were a bit long, but all bangers. Obvi faves were the hits, but You're not from Brighton was a happy surprise :)
This was some trish trash, like wtf is this doing on the list haha
Wasn't a big fan, kinda getting tired of this rock streak... I did like Empty Space and Pee Wee Martini though
Solid album, obvi Faves were Can't do nuttin for ya, man and war at 33 1/3
Pretty good and definitely better than other albums we've heard (*cough* auteurs *cough*), I liked the funky bass and blending of genres in some songs. Faves were Epic and Woodpecker from Mars
Big meh, the best song was the 1st one because the guitar was nice but or else it was p boring
A country classic and liked it more than I expected to :)
Trash, "music pour faire dodo"
I get why people love this so much, but just not my cup of tea
Very good, need to relisten to find faves but solid all around!
ehhhhh not superb, some good music but like the lyrics are questionable
Awesome album, love all the features and kendrick using all the voices he can fit in there. Jazz and funk fills the album with incredible sound
obviously incredible guitar, listened to this bad boi with headphones and that was an experience to be sure. At some points the sound was a bit overwhelming even
Very fun, solid all the way through. Nothing stood out particularly, so will need to listen again for faves
I liked it a lot, very radiohead
Great satire delivered in solid music
Sooooo ambient it was pretty boring. I like their later album, despite it also being super ambient, but this was just a bit long n slow for me
Didn't need christian bad boy george michael in my life, still don't. Musically it works, and at some points ya it's groovin and fun, but these lyrics are nonsense and trying so hard to be a "good" bad boy. Listening to this reminds me of the book about christian sex
Obvi a great musician, but this album was very monotone and super long!
I had higher hopes for this album with the sick guitar at the beginning, but feel like it just kinda went straight to edgy rock that I wasn't as fond of
I liked this one lot, it felt like classic rock and the songs come together
pretty good, I liked their energy and the flow of the album. Nothing crazy tho
Solid album, loved Princess of the Streets! (or queen?) Quality dropped off a bit after that though, hanging around was a low point on the album
I already love this album, so still love it. Very chill, coherent, and a great duet
twang twang twang i'm a country singer and I hate technology so put me back in my motel
Really liked it! Very jammy, fun, and I liked how many people it seemed were involved. Many songs sounded like people just walked in, grabbed an instrument, and joined the fun
Really wasn't feeling this one. I heard a song I liked and I looked over and the album had ended and it was on autoplay...
I liked this one quite a bit! Was expecting some heavy metal from the name, but it was chill and fun. Just short of 4 stars
not bad at all, I liked that the songs weren't super long but in this case they could've been even a bit longer
Dawg whaatttttt It could've been organized into songs but no just gonna continuously put random sounds in for an hour...
lmao what an album. So punk, so camp, great irony. Love the personality, and some of the music
hmmmmmmm didn't particularly need any more paul simon... Some of it was good, he is after all a talented musician. I actually liked the alternate unreleased version of Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes but does that count if it's not really on the OG album??
Not a fan, this could've put me right to sleep if I wasn't actively doing something else.
Not bad, but pretty unspectacular and less than I was hoping for from the bee gees
This one was fun! I especially liked the last song, thought it was a very silly but fun premise. Would like to listen to the full album, as I only found it on youtube and some songs were unavailable :(
Obvi so good! And finally a strong female presence!
Really liked it! kinda put it off for a bit since I was busy (and I kept trying to listen to it while writing my paper about the movie but had to keep pausing to watch the movie so I gave up) but I was pleasantly surprised! I liked the beginning of the album more than the middle/end tho, I will admit
Interesting, nothing crazy for me though. Raspy voice kinda gets old imo
Very good! This is what good acoustic music sounds like to me! And more women!
They have some good songs but they're not on here, and it's all just british yelling over mediocre rock imo
It was pretty good, nothing to write home about though. I liked the punk direction but thought they could've differentiated themselves a bit more with that
meh, not really my thing
Great one! Super good music, but the lyrics were sometimes like wtf dawg
Way more country than I expected, and the content was all so negative!
Awesome, a classic imo and so chill Didn't know they were british but knowing this list it checks out
a classic, obvi!
Maybe one song held up on it's own but as a whole it was so dark and the last song really spooked me/got to my bad feelings :( Maybe goes well with the movie, but wouldn't keep it on the list. 2 stars because production was p good but boring
First (partial) listen was meh, but 2nd listen was much better and I digged it :)
The beginning had hope, was kinda like muse/radiohead with the singing but then it got way more religious (or maybe I just started paying attention to the lyrics?) and then it bumped again at the end
Incredible piece of music imo, great album, very cohesive for it's time 😉
powerful, deep, and energetic. Super good album, but towards the end there were a bit more questionable songs
Some good songs, but got really weird at some points
Solid album, very fun and I didn't know some of these songs were even the mamas and the papas (maybe they're covers?)
I knew what I was getting into kinda with sade, but was very pleasantly surprised, actually liked it more than I expected :)
not memorable, singer was p bad but funny name
Very good album, obvi!
A banger, but maybe the longest banger ever
Not really my thing, every song was the same and basically young adult singalongs
Solid album, good musicians but not my fave
super good all the way through, with such a strong start
why another air album? We wonder
Didn't have super high hopes for this one but I thought it was super good! I rarely pay so much attention to the drums but they really led the way here, and the bass lines were pronounced and funky, so i was a big fan!
This was solid, if not too religious. Kinda weird at some points for sure
Solid metal album, great guitar and fun and not too british haha
so good! so many killer features and production is on point on every single track!
Can you even go wrong with bowie? This is a testament to no
Honestly a great album, full of life! very nice listen, would def get this record
This is kinda like Devo meets Bowie imo (but with a more pop vibe), I dig it!
This is pretty sleepy, boring music. Alien and A Foreign Place were highlights, but this is at best driving music
Man this guy can sing! Loved it, and found some songs to be way more gospel-like than I expected but I dig it
I really wasn't a fan of this one, I'll have to agree with the early critics and call this hot garbage and wtf was up with the lyrics, especially at the end and then the part where it just sounds like everyone's dying??
pretty good actually! I liked it more than I expected, and the vibe it gave off really reminded me of the canadian national film bureau movies I was watching
This was metal alright. Nothing craaaazy but sick guitar
It was good, but not really my thing.
Very cool, but one thing I wasn't crazy about is how many of the songs had no ending, they just stopped (and sometimes changed partway through like they know how to do a transition but not at the end of a song?) Also, fun fact: Keegan's house used to be owned by Lars Ulrich, the drummer
A fuckin banger, although sometimes the subject matter (if I even understood it) was totally wild
This was pretty bad. Singing was drony, instruments all over the place, it was noise
some classics on here, but not a huge huge fan of abba overall. Interesting to see early pop
Not bad, some very catchy songs but nothing to write home about, either
It wasn't bad, but pretty sleepy and uneventful. I liked the james bond remix, and Don't Die Just yet was good too. Skits were fun
The cover art did not prepare me for what I heard! I liked it a lot, and surprised it's so old tbh
Very fun! man can drum, and the singing was fun but maybe a bit repetitive
I feel like I recognize a lot of these songs but they're all kinda similar so maybe it was just every one after the 1st one haha. Sick album art, and no other was my fave off this
Idk man, really not my thing. I like the metal influences, the rock, and what led here, but not what we got here particularly
Very nice album :) I liked the title song in 2 parts, it tied together the album as a unified piece and the change in tone towards more desperation as it progressed was great
I was kinda excited to listen to this because I've seen this album cover a million god damn times (maybe the most reused album art ever?) but it was kinda a big meh for me and it all kinda blended together, and then when I payed closer attention I asked myself wtf is going on with the melody
I really dig this. I like how it was heavy, but also clear what they wanted to get across and not overcrowded. Great songs, black hole sun is a classic obvi
Solid all the way through, but I still liked fear of a black planet better. Great commentary all the way through
I liked it a lot! But I like Beck and this was fun
Interesting and well-done, but not my favorite
I was ready to listen to something kinda wild, but this was difficult to listen to. Some good parts, and it is interesting as a genre-mixing album, but he brought in all the parts I'm not fond of from each genre it seems
I like this one so much better than the last leonard cohen album. Thought his voice was great n deep, and the synth popped
This was fun! The lyrics were way less repetitive and the rhythm was more solid throughout.
Great album. Some songs are a bit whiny tho, maybe a bit cliché and overplayed at this point
I thought this was very nice, and nothing like I expected!
Great album, but some songs are just too damn long and it's pretty ambient overall
This was maybe too weird. New to me, but won't be listening to more
pretty garbage actually. Bad mixing, difficult to listen to
Very fun! Gave off both a hippy vibe and socially aware movement vibe. Nice n funky :)
