Greetings From L.A.
Tim Buckley- more instruments than neils young :harvest: but still boring....
- more instruments than neils young :harvest: but still boring....
- i see Blur i press like - I like how at some places it's raw like those dogs on the cover (Parklife, Jubilee, Girls and Boys..), just barking at me and then its mellow and I'm bathing in Damons voice (This is a low, End of a century, To the end). - very fun. i can easily put this and listen to the whole thing and stop doing whatever I was doing
- there is not bad song on this - i want my mtv.....
- its fun - its David Bowie
You listen to this while you make out with guy that is leaving and you dont know if you are going to see him again.... while its raining
(boring a bit)
- great fro background listening, sounds like one long song
- its fun - its David Bowie
- feels like classic 80's - female beach boys - soundrack for a teenage movie where the outcast listens to this - very fun, DRUMS
- boring - like from a dream
- feminism - punk? - lyrics are more important than music
weird punk, feels very creative lyrics are nore important than music
punk when there was not punk yet? velvet underground copied it?
- college - i would put this on sims ost - all songs sounds the same, but not bad
- stuff damon albarn listents to - space
- very pleasing - upbeat but latin vibes - paul mccartney meeting elton john?
- catchy - SWAG
- america - just guitar and voice makes it boring for me - meh
- more instruments than neils young :harvest: but still boring....
- nice, doesnt bother you, calming - tropico and pablo escobar
- apart from one song it didnt interest me with the old samples
- very fun - great for not heavy metal fans
- annoying voice
- fun, creative, catchy, weird
- you can have a bath in this music
- its robots singing what can be more perfect, the synths and drums and BASS
- there is not bad song on this - i want my mtv.....
- Maps is amazing song but all that moaning in the others...

- roundabout, very nice but its a meme now, sorry
- punk, thank you - like Horkyze Slize but not funny
- they had lots of fun - intersting, fun, popart,
pleasant
she had nice voice but no thank you
- nothing for me, they moan a lot, maybe its meant to be played during sex. - it has Waterfalls,
- this was relaxing, not disturbing - no idea what she was saying but it feels nice - i was able to to background work
-a a a a autobahn
- this is really great album, both for listening and having it just for background music - great as concept album, great also as solo songs - relevant lyrics - amazing melodies
- this swung fast by me, hello and goodbye
- i dont like rock n roll really, cant see the significance
- very nice, beatlesque harmonies, i really like the piano - i guess it is depressing but, hey, thats what songs are for - yeah, he died, makes the music a little more bitterweet
- no thank you, glam rock only when its David Bowie....
- i like when artists kill me with the first song - you hear lots of thom yorke and matt bellamy in his voice
- surprisingly emotional - not surprisingly catchy songs - i am probably voting for them more as an band (as influencers), not just for this one album, whch is btw very pleasant electro for me
- this truly deserves to be in 1001 albums - it gently creeps, it's very inconspicuous - cant stop thinking about Wandering stars....would love to see deconstructed
- as a person that doesn't really care about rap i always liked this one for some reason. it was the shocking lyrics, the violence, sex, humor. I just couldn't turn this off (it was on cassette and i was 10 and english was my second language...) - yes he sounds like an asshole but I didnt care back then - Stan is amazing song with amazing sample and storytelling, scary background screams and best plot twist ever - the "I'm Slim Shady, yes i'm the real Shady....." tongue twisting, yes please, and that classical piano sample (sounds like Bach) makes it more comical. - Marshall Matters with the guitar! - I will never forget about the blow job skit - Bitch Please II has sick beat and I always wondered what was the weird organ/piano sound..... - Kim is just scary, skip - Criminal again shows great storytelling - deserves to be in 1001 albums, but some songs make it 4/5
- i see Blur i press like - I like how at some places it's raw like those dogs on the cover (Parklife, Jubilee, Girls and Boys..), just barking at me and then its mellow and I'm bathing in Damons voice (This is a low, End of a century, To the end). - very fun. i can easily put this and listen to the whole thing and stop doing whatever I was doing
- this is difficult for me to describe and i've been trying to write something about this album for 10 min (blame it on the mans arse?) - i listened to it twice, second time was much better. it's like I want to like it but can't.
- so this algorithm gave me Blur, Suede and Oasis... which obviously makes me to compare them. And that is not good news for Suede and Blur - I must say as much as I don't like Oasis as a band (pure judgement of characters) I need to judge them by their craft and talent, which is obviously superb. - Wonderwall, for some people overrated or overplayed, for me one of the unskippable ones, even covers, samples and jazz reeditions and shitty Superstar versions are good
- pop fan here - i listened to this so I can see whats going on - sounds very skillful - sorry, cant stop laughing about the whole concept, like how the band is called MEGAdeath or how to album cover looks, or the pun RUST in peace - going back now to listen to beatles
- old school rap - now i will go back to the beatles
- it reminds me of awful lot of things - i like weird artsy stuff but for some reason this was not for me - still it was very pleasant listen, but definitely too long
- i feel like being abused for something I dont remember doing - imagine this in german language - im surprised this album is here as i know this band for different type of songs (similar to the song Peephole) - guys at high school were OBSESSED with this - i like radio pop so cant put high score, although i somehow "enjoyed" it
- 1970, holy shit - pleasant fusion of jazz, latin, psychedelic rock
This was pleasant and melodic. Like I can play this at a party and not annoy everyone. Jack Black approves
Couldnt decide if its sexy or funny or jazzy or experimental or meditative or just random. His singing reminds me of me when im walking around the house just randomly describing things in singing voice.
uff, difficult listen to me
First I thought its typical 80s album with whiny singer and synths but oh my god, this is very clever instrumentation and its very catchy. Wow.
I always think of The Police as pop 'radio hit' band or ska/reggae but I often forget about the middle east fusion with jazz I really enjoy the two last songs - Tea in the Sahara and Murder by numbers. And as I very much like Every breath you take, in the whole album it suddenly doesn't make sense....
I noticed I was gradually lowering the voice on my player. But I liked some of the beats and samples.
- that weird feeling when he sounds like Ed Sheeran but its actually Ed Sheeran sounding like David Gray? And my mind is not understanding this
I gave Beastie Boys 2. This is better than Beastie Boys. Still repetitive for me
Many of the reviews seems to be nondescriptive: great, classic, amazing straight 10/10 I enjoyed it, his voice is very smooth, his song has been covered millions of times, I may forget about this album soon though
Love in first song. Need to wait to finish whole album, but already feel like 4 or 5. Never heard of this and I am pleasantly surprised and I love bathing in these retro guitars and instrumentation and his voice... Will skip my list for few days just to repeat this....and gonna call my alternative radio station to ask them what the hell guys, why dont you play some of this??
According to wikipedia it has 42 minutes and 1 second and I cant live with this (this review was just as random as the album is)
This was very enjoyable, great background music, very atmospheric. Maybe I should not be surprised I recognized one Major Lazer sample from Maria Lionza.
I feel like this is similar situation as with Nick Cave - you need to like poetry, different musical textures and need to be connected to him personally.
It has those three iconic tracks, that introduced lots of people to heavy metal genre (although two are slower). Can't really compare with other of their albums or other albums from that genre, there are better fans and experts for that, but I can see why this has timeless appeal.
Missed me 100 percent.
- interesting instruments, very surprising for me - nice way to preserve traditional music for wider audience - catchy and accessible. if you have never listened to african music you will vibe to this
how is this nostalgic if I did not even listen to this in my youth, is a question.maybe its the lyrics and the feeling of being a teenager and angry at world. it is enjoyable as its pop punk.
Nice listen, quick album, will probably never listen to again
sounds to me like typical 2010s sounds of college rock...mixed with blues i really like the piano parts. feel like i will go back to this album, it grows on me
I'm not usually into rap, but this album surprised me. It's catchy, with clever and honest lyrics. I enjoyed the beats and samples, fits to that era.
My 17 years old male friends 15 years ago were so obsessed with this, quoting it, doing random solos on random objects, headbangs, taking it very seriously as the highest form of art. For me it was just silly.
