The Score
Fugees90s hip hop, nice mood. Some high level covers (no woman no cry, killing me softly). Ok to listen in a Hip Hop mood :)
90s hip hop, nice mood. Some high level covers (no woman no cry, killing me softly). Ok to listen in a Hip Hop mood :)
Easy listening. Surprised by the variety of styles.
rough/raw rock, lyrics are probably ok. might be attiring for a late teenager-early 20s person.
Wow, Janis! What a voice. I think some are covers. I like the vibes, blues/rock some gospel (mercedes benz). A shame you leave us so young.
Firs time I hear Kate Bush, (only one listening). I liked her style, many things happening on her songs. Pop/soft rock (?)
Punk, early punk? If in a punk mood, a very nice albul. 3,5 stars. (REally like the intro "The next big thing" a little bit like progressive rock)
Yeah, good Blues! Starting in the middle of album is Mix Blues/African Musica, which I liked .
As I grow up I like this album more an more... (currently 37 y). Much wisdom, lovely intimate tunes..
Electro. Yes, I like it it's very fine, 3,5 stars? 4 maybe too much. Also really like the last volcal son "Stagger" with its imperfections and all..
Yes, some nice songs/classic. But I am not a fan of the style :(. 3,5 Stars
Great discovery. Progressive Rock from the late 70s/early80s.
Great, Radiohead produced this disk. I remember I downloaded the version legally and free from their website. A good album, not the best Radiohead album. 3.75.
Nice Voice Adele, not that much my stile I would give a 3,5. I listen to this a bit whent it came out. Havent paid that much attention to the lyrics...
Amazing Kuti, afican beats and trumpuet, a little bit more than a four. Expensive Shit.
I have never listended to Roxy Music, I like it.. Elvis vibes in one of the singers from time to time. Again this is a 3,5, but to be fair to the rest of my notes, I will put a 3.
Ok garage rock, a bit of punk, some cranberries vibes. 2,50, but to be fair with the rest of my starts this will be a 2.
Yes, I ike it a modern (art/blues?)Rock. Maybe a 3,5 (rounding up or down?)
Ok rock, soft punk rock, it is not a french group :). 2,75
Some cool tunes, soft hip hop / RnB; I liked the most "Super Rich Kids". Some Stevie wonder vives (in his voice..). Ok.
Multitude of sound. Only listened one time sorry. Unfortunately I did not found anything exceptional/remarkable :(
sorry. maybe I would appreciate this in my 20s. Songs are repetitive, based on riff or sample; some lyrics sometimes (which I did not listen to carefully). Barely any melody. I just see that this stile is "noise rock " indeed . Not for me.
3,5 , I like jazz an Miles. I know this record has historical importance and I enjoy it, specially track 2 bitches brew. But maybe it is on another level which I am not yet to fully appreciate it.
Late 70s (sounds like 80s) rock (post punk?). Yeah, I like it, though It may sound monothematic. 3.4.
A 2.6. A late 80s (90s for me) souvenir of cool rap.
I just discovered I like Neil Young. It would be a 3.5+ The jewell for me "Don't let it bring you down". On a second "Southern Man". Yes, atypic voice, very intimate. I will get back to this album.
I would have to listen to this again. Probably the lyrics are good :). On a first listening (I do not regularly listen to us-folk). Within his genre, a classic I guess :)
I listened to this a few times when I was in my early 20s, but could never feel it grow into me (I prefered more the Clash, London calling). I like the hymn "God save the queen", and many tunes are classics. 3.5-
I listened this in my 20s, I like blues. "Whipping post" blew my mind (that song is 5/5). Overall a great live album, some nice rock electric blues, and improvisation. A solid 4 (if you like blues )
Sorry, did not like it much nothing that memorable. Electro (soft, with some good samples). Background .
Yes, quite nice 90s POP sound/songs, I would put a 3,50, but 4 is too much (not my favourite style).
I like early caetano, but this is not one of his best. A good experience though.
Roc Pop, some synths. Good to relax. 2,5 stars. Up to 3.
Nice discovery. Psycodelic Rock from late 60s. My cup of tea. 3,7. Up to 4.
An Early Aerosmith, Ok . 3,4.
Beautiful voice. need to listen again (and again.. and again).
(I love nirvana). Good first one, 3,5.
I discovered this group. Very nice 80s rock pop, some funky rythms too. 3.5
This and Parachutes the best of Coldplay (I prefer Parachutes). Biased a bit I listened this on ma late teens , 4/5. I really prefer this 'early' coldplay (closer to radiohead)
3 stars, I would have to listen more attentively to the lyrics. Folk is not my style aprarrently...
Ok, maybe I am not a fan of cohen. The lyics must be good.. 2.5
Ok funky ok.
Did not know the smiths. Nice 80s sound, 3.5 start. I will listen again :)
YEs I like this 3.5 rounded to 3.
another 80s sound indie rock
Yes, I like it. 90s
Amazing. intimate
Not my style, she has a nice voice so I will give a 3
its good, but they became better
folk , not my stile. correct
Fairy-like vives (kinda like Enya), angelical duo. From the 80s, I like this. 3.5, rounded up.
Nice new Bossa
liked more the earlier muse 3,5
amazing. still modern (...almost)
I listened to the "best of" 44 min version on Tidal. Amazing 4,5. However the three hour version might be guilty of repetitivity (will listen a weekend with time). I guess it will be a 4 strar album.
why not? 3 stars.
3.5, some nice songs. but in general not my style
4.5, but lets give it a five.
amazing funk
Yes, a classic, 4.5, five?
I did not know Bostom. Maybe 'more than a feeling' sounded familliar. Amazing.
I grew up with this, and I speak spanish. The lyrics are very important; I will have to give it a 5. But for a non spanish speaker (and no attachment) maybe this would be a 3,5
Wow, I liked it, before Ive only heard Siamese Dream. Double album, lots of things, I will listen again.
3,5
Electric Mud, though I like more the earlier albums :)
Amazing. 4.5.
I liked the sound, will listen again.
3.5
3.5
3.5
2.5 , not my style.
3.5
A testament from a past era. Does not stand well the test of time IMHO. 2 or a bit more.
Part of my late teenage years, was not super fun (I prefered more Korn, Limp Bizquit). But deserves at solid 3/5.
Wow. I like 60s70s English Rock. But not in particular David Bowie. I like Jazz and I like Radiohead. This album is great, no bullshit , not just another copy/past form the past years. Highly innovative, risky. I learn after listening it that was his last work. 4.5/5. Thank you David for giving us this last Gift.
Amazing, I loved her voice and the style (soft). Also the song "Constant Craving" resembles "Anybody Seen My Baby?" by the Rolling Stones ( the stones got inspiration?), already listened 2 times, will listen again...
4.5 but rounded up. Nice variety and many classics... my favourite "Life on Mars?", thank you Bowie
not my style girl :(
Perfect fussion of bossa nova and jazz, thank you getz/gilberto
4.0++ Ive been listening to this albun since my 20s, great one prodigy (saw them live once, lots of energy.
4.5 up to 5. A beauty to listen to sinatra's voice. Maybe a bit reperitive? In any case, I would listen many more times before dying.
I listen to this in my early 20s, a heavier Led Zep. Love manyu songs: In My Time of Dying, Trampled Under Foot, Kashmir, In the Light, Ten Years Gone.... 5 stars for a hard rock fan
Like it but... yes, a bit monotonic.
did not liked it not in the mood maybe.. 80s rap/hip hop, with world music (afican percission etc). not timelles IMHO.
did not liked it not in the mood maybe.. 80s rap/hip hop, with world music (afican percission etc). not timelles IMHO.
First time I heard it. Yes, I liked it.. I will be back to it. Thank you David Bowie from mid 70s
Amazing, maybe Kid A best, but this is 4.5 stars. I may be biased becayse I listen to this on my 20s (not two decades later). Still holds.
3.7 , First time hearing it (long time beatles fan, and around that era, not particularly Bob Dylan's fan). Yes, I like it, lyrics are great (add a lot to the artifact), I like the folky style of dylan. And I also get that Dylan's way of singing is not for everybody... (I did not liked it at the beginning, but the power of his lyrics made me overcame that). Will listen again :)
Yeah 80s songs, I grew up in the 80s-90s, and discovered this musing a bit later, transports me to that age, a bit nostalgic. I will give a 4 even if is around a 3.7. But has several nice songs.
Yes, intereseting a 3.5! Would listen again.
3.5. 80s sound but as of 2025 still sounds fresh. I was born in 80s so a bit of nostalgia. Very nice album, will listen again, good discovery, I like the background chorus with women voices. The lyrics I did not pay attention 100% and the parts I have are very good lyrics (sour, critic, political, loneliness), so 4 stars instead of 3, and will listen again for the lyrics :). Voice sounds a bit like early 90s INXS (so this is precursor).
5/5. No need to listen, through I listened again (2019s Remix). In my late 30s, I discovered the Beatles since a kid with the cd's from my father (past masters v1), as a teenager got access to mp3, and buy the late 80s cds.. so my reference is the stereo version from that cd's, listened on an early 90s yamaha. Amazing, this album is on the top 10 ever... "And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love.. you make"
4.5, but transforms into a 5 if you discover this as a teenager or early 20s (I hope you do). Listened this album on cd in my early 20s. Highway Star what an opener, Smoke on the Water (a classic), and my favourite "Lazy", jazzy, bluesy, and I like/love the organ (Hammond b3 organ I am reading) (that is present in many songs, accompanying or completing the guitar). One of the foundational albums of Heavy Metal. Almost all songs are very good.
2.5... late 80s early 90s sound, not timeless, some beats and synthesizers sounds... Dates (repetitive electro beats)... Hip hop, soul, rnb (good). However, 3 stars because the melody/harmonics of the songs sang by the ladies/women are actually impressive. Human voice can not be topped. Do not know if I'll listen again, but good artifact of the late 80s.
3.5. first time I heard the jam. I like the beatles , pink floyd and the clash.. I think I am in the mood for this, I give a 4. Many good songs mixed with other meh.. the closing one is very good, as "that's entertainement" (I loved the demo tape version). Post punk, sounds as moder as some 21st century groups.
First Tom Waits album I hear.. Crazy, Different, I think it's Ok. I like the brass sounds.. certainly something different. Not for every mood, not for everyone. 2.80.
3.5. a classic, I listened in my 20s, but I realize I rarely listened to the whole album. It i s a bit long.. some songs are just repetitive (just to move forward the story I guess). As of today, and to respect many 4/5 albums that are more consistent I gave Tommy a 3 (3.49 if you wish). Some very good songs, chords, and emotions, inspirational I guess for many groups to come too.
Dreams, one of my favourite songs of all time.. the bass , the drums, the voice... Many other hits. I agree with many album full of hits, easy listening, seems short. To be fair 4.75/5.
Ok, varied. Easy listening. Maybe not in the mood 3.3 (Listened two times).
I liked the lyrics (4). Musically a 3.few stars. I also liked the Album's title track. And the depness "That joke isn't funny anymore" (close to home?). However, I am not sure I would re-listen this album (maybe if in a depressing mood). Not a fan of the style neither of singing, but at least is quite unique. This would be a 3 stars album.
Listened late teenager , early 20s . And I love Pink Floyd (discovered almost chronologically) . So a bit biased. I enjoyed the album a lot on that age of my life, travelling with InterstellAr Overdrive/Astronomy Domine... and the funny Bike/The Gnome, etc. I would put a 5. But to respect other more rounded 5-star albums, and trying to evaluate objectively this album, I'd put 3.5 , rounded to 4 for sentimental reasons.
Fist time listen. Even if I know Queen 20+ years (mostly greatest hits and two big live concerts, and first album). Wow, more rocky than latter queen, but we already have the signature in a few songs, some beautiful melodies there. 3.5 but in the mood, I wnjoyed it a lot (listened two times)
Raw Power. Intimate. Vibe of early Nirvana (same time), so very innovative for the time. It would sit good with people in it's teens, 20s. Sadly, I discovered this now. I liked it, listened two times. Maybe will listen again. 3 stars Liz.
Amazing. Fresh but with a 70s rock heritage... It is a 4.5 but I will promote to 5 to give Michael K. More visibility. I discovered him with a cover of crazy little hearth in youtube, a solo like those od David Gilmour onntop Pink Floyd. Thanks for this album!
Mmm.. ok, 2.8. some Kraftwerk vibes.. Nothing too memorable for me. Maybe need more listenings (I listened 2.5 times...).
I listened this in my early 20s, being non native english speaker , did not understand all the lyrics... But I liked the beats. I guess is a relic of that time, even if as some comments says the lyrics might be cancelled today, it os worth a listen specially if you are in your early 20s...
