I didn't listen to the whole thing, but it has a lot of great classics on it. EJ has had it the whole time.
Solid. Lots of piano. I hadn't expected that. I think the way we use represent! Comes from the song represent. Also catch me in queensbridge
It might get a fifth start on a second listen, but it was good. Def. Variations on a theme
Mostly familiar. Sort of show tunes. Fun for a moment.
Not like anything else I've listened to. Adrobeat +politics + I'm not sure what.
Two long tracks. The drummer on the first track must be a machine! That symbol just cruises all the way through. It's sweet kind of ethereal, like a dream.
So 80s and so Cohen. My favorite part may be the bg vocals. Lovely if more dated than I would have expected
I liked this more and more as it played on. Beth Hirsh's sings killed my. So sweet. This is almost a genre into itself I thought. But when Spotify played massive attack and portished I wondered if I haven't kissed s while gender of sweet ethereal rock
Still lovely!
5* for The animal sound effects on rock lobster alone, but a fun jam. Classic. Hilarious. Short!
I forgot 16 shells from this album. In my imagination, apparently, it was much more recent like mule variations recent. Anyway, classic album. Real gems. Listening with headphones I heard lyrics I'd never noticed before. Tom is a genius still but he was definitely a genius then
Shoot, most of the songs on the first greatest hits album are on this album. Really lovely
So much sex song. Of course, I'd listen to him sing the dictionary. I wonder if that shit ever really works with the ladies?
The music is okay. There's some pretty rad saxophone. Musicality is alright. It's hard for me to get past the exploitation part of "blacksploitation" I guess or maybe I just didn't listen to enough times to feel it. Not a favorite.
Lovely. Not always my cupa
Morrissey being Morrissey
Holds up. I really do love the album, and I enjoyed listening to it again, but it's difficult for me to give it five stars. I guess I think of the 5th star as being "classic status," and it doesn't feel that way to me. 10 years from now maybe I'll change my mind
I'd even heard of little Simz. I really enjoyed the album. P power and all that. Some cool genre mixes. Lots of bravado.
How do I not know about Louis prima and Keely Smith?
I forgot how many of these songs... Aren't on Thriller...
Some parts were cool. I see why at the time it came out it may have had an impact and how that impact may have carried through, but it just didn't enjoy it that much
Holds up. Rough and sweet in even doses. Dredges some nostalgia for sure.
Music about sex and not in the cute way. But also not quite silly. Funny at times, rude all the time.
HOLDS UP
Some times I really enjoyed it. Some times, though, all I could think was "dated". Usually that means I need a couple more listens to get past it. It feels like they both lost and gained something important after Joy Division, anyway. I'll listen again. Also, that CHIN. whoa.
Probably the top of the top tier albums to mix the class and sound of an older age with darkness
Sometimes beautiful and reminiscent of the Beatles, sometimes kinda empty and immitative of its era... Or maybe I didn't give it enough of a chance
Fun. Also, make whoopie
Still classic. I wonder if everybody got paid for the rights to those blues songs?
Some really great songs with a couple of songs I still can't seem to enjoy. I guess that's what happens when your band has a love of the discordant
Didn't age well.
Fun.
A lot of great songs. No bad songs
Still love it!
Meh.
Sam Cooke was already great. It makes you wonder what you missed not having the chance to see him live.
I knew some songs but had never listened to the album. Good.
I really loved this album. SORRY YOU HAD TO BE A DICK, RYAN. I hope you figure it out.
Perfect.
All I really knew by Frank Zappa was the song valley girl. This was a great instrumental album
To p 10 of all time
Huh.
It's decent. Beautiful at times
Better than I remember
It thumps, sure. The lyrics can be a bit much.
Idk if I'd listen for fun, but I'm glad to know they're there
Never even Heard this guy before. It was decent
Didn't finish. It's good. I was just busy. Will come back to it
Better than I remember. John f could burn a place down with that guitar
So much sex song, geez. Still-FUNKy
Really enjoyed this one
No bad songs. Some great songs
Fun first album
More discord than I was ready for today
Lovely
Does he really say "f### the taste outta' you're mouth"?! Some parts did not age well.
I remember thinking this album was too repetitive but I must have listened to it a lot because it felt nostalgic and I enjoyed it more than I thought I would
The album I first used to hook my hootie
How do I not know Bowie better? This album is so lovely
Gets better every listen
Musicianship is stellar. Wild mix of jazz and lasts 60s guitar rock
Fun. Memorable
Didn't hold up like I thought it would for me. L loved some songs, annoyed by others
