Who Killed...... The Zutons?
The ZutonsSo far so good. Not in love with it but it's not bad at all.
So far so good. Not in love with it but it's not bad at all.
I can dig it. Some parts are a little too jazz noodling for me but I absolutely loved In a Silent Way. Cool guy.
First song is really good, but long. The rest of the album kind of slows down after that, sounds good but kind of too slow for me.
Some nice music in there. Also it can be quite a snooze fest. Frankie does have a really smooth voice, but I can only listen for so long.
Woah, really really enjoy this album. I've listened to this album a few times in the past and it still holds up. Something about Mardy Bum is just sooo soo good and sticks with me.
Really good stuff. Will probably listen again.
I've listened to this album before in the past and it didn't really stick. Glad I got to give it another go because I really enjoyed it. The Killing Moon is so good, it feels like a resolution to a story. Still some weird / boring tracks in there but I think it's worth it.
Funky, kind of had a Talking Heads feel at the beginning but then fades. I liked this more than I originally thought I would, love the bass and horns, nice and clean. Could have been a bit shorter, found myself bored of the same sounds by the end.
Can't believe I've never heard this before. I love it, the bass sounds so good. Great songs.
Amazing guitar tracks, obviously. Jimi was special. Not sure if anyone else agrees but he was like really good at playing the guitar. I've never listened to this album front to back before but am glad I did. Little Wing is absolutely beautiful, lyrically and musically.
Never have ever sat down and listened to Price, but am well aware of him and have watched Purple Rain. Really catchy/interesting/original stuff in there. Some song are definitely too long for me, but I can imagine the goodness just oozing out of him in the studio and they had to keep going. The Little Red Corvette melody will be in my head for days. I guess I'm a Prince fan now.
It's been awhile. Used to listen to this soo much back in high school / college. Glad to give it another go. Love the guitar parts, pretty much how I learned how to play guitar so of course I love it. John Bonham is a beast, I could just listen to isolated drum tracks all day. Great album ,would recommend to everyone.
I've only really listened to disintegration by the Cure, and I really like it. This album starts off a bit slow for me, but eventually catches up, kind of. Still finding myself a bit bored with the whole thing.
I've listened to Francis the Mute while in Highschool and even seen The Mars Volta at a SOAD concert, I was the only one of my group that fucking loved their performance. I loved At the Drive-In so much as well. Even still, I never listened to their debut album, I wish I did. This is for me. Huge fan of the guitar work, it's so different and that usually what I gravitate too. Vocals as well, so different and just hit for me. I usually drop a star for overly long songs (like Prince - 1999) but these ones just don't make me want to skip ahead.
Was expecting to not really enjoy as I'm not the biggest fan of R&B. But this caught me, really smooth and catchy. Found myself grooving throughout. I liked it but can only listen to this so much, started to lose interest near the end.
I like music from this group of people and wanted to like this album more than I did. It's all right but not one song hooked me, good for casual listening I suppose.
Don't necessarily hate it, but it is a little too country for me. The song "The Christian Life" totally sucks and I don't think I want to listen to the rest of this album. Pile of steamy shit,
Not bad, just a little too Rod Stewarty for me. A couple good songs but most of them just blend together.
Have listened to this album maybe 1 or 2 times before in the past but never really "listened". I like it a lot, a lot of cool stuff and interesting songs.
I somehow know all of these songs and do not remember listening to the album on my own. My parents must have listened to this a bunch when I was younger. Because of that I have this familiarity with all these songs and really really enjoyed this listen. Ronnie Robesrtson is from around the area I grew up so his songs just kind of feel like home.
Had no idea Malcolm made albums, but am aware of him from the Sex Pistols. I think this album is fun and full of good samples. The users that are mad at this album for trying to be hip-hop must have 0 idea what sampling is or what Malcolm was trying to accomplish.
Loved this album since it's release. All of the songs are really really good and well written. They will definitely be in my head for a while.
Been a pretty big Radiohead fan for sometime. While The Bends has never been my favorite of theirs as I started listening when In Rainbows came out, so I Was already more familiar with that. But I really do enjoy this album, I haven't listed to it in a few years now and am happy it came up now, as I have been spinning In Rainbows again. Great guitar songs on this one.
I wanted to like this one better than I did. It's not bad but nothing really stood out to me, will listen again in the future. The stories behind the album are cool but the music just didn't do it for me as much as I wanted it to.
I always wanted to like PJ more than I do. Give this one a solid go but nothing really stood out to me and I don't think I'm a fan of her vocal style. Might have to listen again sometime.
Not for me. Not terrible music, it doesn't make me angry, but I do not dig it.
Slow country rock. Not for me. It's not terrible music but just something I'm not really into.
I've heard a lot about Kendrick but I'm not really a fan of rap. First song is super lame, I really really thought this would be different, but it's just about wanting to fuck. Second song he raps about his dick?
It's not bad at all, just nothing really stood out to me. Sounds like music made in 1989.
I did listen to this album when it was first recommended here but I honestly couldn't tell you if I liked it or not. I think I was torn between really enjoying some songs and not liking some others at all. It's not a bad album, pretty interesting. Kind of sounds like Radiohead and Andrew Bird.
Not really into it. But did find myself nodding along to some songs, but if I payed attention to the lyrics it took me out.
Not bad. I don't like this as much as Ocean Rain but it's still pretty good.
This album ruled! Love it love it.
I like it
Not for me, but I get it. She has a nice voice and the production is great. Doo Wop is fun.
Absolutely love running up that hill. Something about it from the first chord just speaks to me. A few other really great song, but also a few weird ones. My wife came in while listening and was visibly confused, I tried to defend it but I could not.
Not for me. Some songs are kind of catchy I guess, but that doesn't make up for all the cringe "I am the greatest and everyone wants me" songs.
Starts off okay. Then gets real meh and weird, but not good weird.
Digging this, feels like drinking with buds. I enjoyed the entire thing. I actually listened to it twice, it's amazing. It will always now remind me of dancing in the kitchen with my daughter.
Never listened to a full R.E.M album before. This one was really good, I knew a few obvious songs like "It's the End of the World as we know it" and "The One I Love" and they still hold up. I had to skip Fireplace, found it annoying, maybe I'll get it when I listen again.
Sounds like a Phil Spector album
I did sleep on this record when it first came up. I'm well aware of Sheryl and have never been a fan. This album was pretty good. Never head Leaving Las Vegas before and I really like that song.
Some catchy stuff I supposed. I didn't hate it but I did not like it.
Sounds like the soundtrack to Bluey. I really enjoyed it. A few off putting songs that I guess I don't get.
I've listened to one other Sonic youth Album before and didn't really like it. There were a few catchy songs and a lot of noise. This one however got me. Really enjoyed the guitar, bass, and vocals. Will listen again.
I was ready to give this a 5 or 4 due to So Fresh, So Clean, Ms. Jackson, and B.O.B being on here. But those are the only 3 songs out of the 200 that I liked. Not terrible album at all, but a lot of fluff surrounding a few gems.
This is so good. I've never listened to a TW album front to back and it is a treat. Amazing song writing and guitar work.
Classic old rock songs that doesn't really do it for me. Vocals annoy me, but the songs doesn't make me angry. Not something I'd put on myself.
This one was so good! I'm glad Iggy is on this list because I've never listened to much of his stuff besides the obvious few. This is a great guitar album, I grabbed my guitar to play along with Shake Appeal. I went back after and re listened to a couple songs. That deserves a 5.
Beautiful album front to back. Loved this one, never have listened to Carol but I did recognize a lot of these songs. I have listened to the album 3 times since the first listen, going to have to grab it for my vinyl collection.
My mother absolutely loved MJ so I have heard a lot of his music. She somehow never listened to this one while I was around, but I'm well aware of a couple songs on this. Michael is obviously a very talented young man here before he turned into whatever the hell he turned into. Great sounding songs produced by Qunicy Jones .
Interesting voice, but very boring. No songs have grabbed my attention at all, it's like good background music. Not terrible music, but not for me. A solid 3.
I honestly thought I was going to hate it. Never was into Em but my brother sure was when we were going up. The guy unboundedly has amazing talent. Some of the lyrics are a bit violent/ misogynistic /homophobic and I get that's just how some people talked in the early 2000s but it can be a bit much to listen to while having a daughter. The songs themselves are very well produced, all the songs give the kind of eerie vibe that works well with the subject matter. Stan is so good, The way I am is so good. The Real Slim Shady is kind of lame and cringe, maybe because this song was blasted in my face 24/7 when I was like 11. Kim is full of emotion but kind of odd and unsettling to be singing about kidnapping and murdering your wife. Like I get he was trying to be like edgy or whatever on purpose, but it's not really nice to listen to. I suppose it's a 3, better than that Kendrick Lamar album I had to listen to.
Love it. Great guitar tracks. Jack White does some really cool stuff.
It's a Steely Dan Album. Great musicianship, but it does get kind of boring. I could have this on in the background and be pretty contempt. Classic dad rock stuff. I'd give er a 4.
So good. Very very polished (maybe a bit too much?) but I think it works for them. Great song writing, great guitar and bass, their bass player is sooo fucking good, love it. Was ready to give it a solid 4 but Knights of Cydonia brought this up to a 5. Good shit.
I am well aware of who Brian Eno is being a bid Talking Heads fan, but I honestly have never sat down and listened to one of his records. I really like it. Very cool to hear people trying new and interesting things especially in the 70s, it's the kind of stuff that I like. Well it's not the greatest musically it does have a lot of heart and feeling that resonates with me.
Pretty good, but kind of boring. I found myself not very interested about 3/4 of the way through.
I always though I was too cool to like Green Day when I Was younger. This album is really good, wish I would of actually listened to it.
Only knew Come on Eileen by these guys. This album is pretty long and drags on with quite a bit of talking, but it did grow on me. The longer I listened to more I liked it, good stuff.
Not terrible but really repetitive brit pop. Not really for me.
I just listened to this album a couple times prior to it showing up on my list. One of my favorite albums of all times. 5/5
Love it. I have listened to Pink Moon multiple times so I am a fan of Nick. I have listened to this one a few times but I guess I never listened listened since I don't remember most of the songs. I really like this.
Not bad. Well aware of this band but never actually listened to an album. Good enough songs but nothing really stood out or stuck with me.
Very very meh. Doesn't make me angry but I do not really enjoy any of these songs at all.
I like Dylan. These are songs that I like.
My parents really liked Aerosmith, I did not. The guitar on this album is pretty cool. Steven Tyler is a fucked dude.
I've tried to listen to Massive Attack a few times in the past and could never get into them. Never tried this album so I'll give it a go. I do not like this, I don't hate it either, just not really for me.
Big fan of Earl Scruggs. I like this music but not for this long. Really good musicianship but need to be in the mood for it.
nah.
One of my all time favorites. I've only listened to this album about 100 times. 5/5 Sometimes I'll look at the reviews on here before posting my own just to see what some of you think. I'm always surprised to see 1's on albums that I absolutely love so I'll check out their profile and see that one of their highest rated albums is kid rock without fail. Then it all makes sense.
I've really only listened to take me out, that song was huge when it came out. I like this album, it reminds me of the strokes. Will probably listen again.
Uhhg my brother really liked this when it came out and I never got into it. I found it really lame and still do. I have skipped about 6 or 7 songs and I'm 9 in right now. Not a fan. I can image everyone in the studio laughing so hard while Jonathan was doing his little scatting but then being like " no no , it sounds good we swear, keep doing it"
Pretty good stuff! Not really for me though.
Love it, spin it all the time.
This is like the third or forth time I've tried to listen to this album. I really wanted to like it but I just don't. Reminds me of some edgy kid that just says the weirdest shit to get a reaction and thinks that makes him cool. Obviously Trent is a talented musician and lyricists sometimes but it just doesn't do it for me.
It's alright. Nothing really stood out to me, but not terrible.
Don't actively hate it but I do not really enjoy this. Not something I would put on again but I think I get it. 3/5
Absolutely love Talking Heads. This album is great.
Kinda groovy, but it's not really doing it for me. Interesting enough though.
Listened to this the first time when I was in like 5th grade. Love The Clash. Happily listened again, still songs that I enjoy.
So far so good. Not in love with it but it's not bad at all.
I was aware of Nile as a guitar player but never really listened to anything. Obviously have heard le freak and I really dig the rest. I’ve listened to this twice now, really groovy stuff
I was not a fan when this came out and I’m still not a fan. I do not like this.
Pretty neat guitar licks, but I do not like this music at all.
I have a few Leonard Cohen albums but I have not listened to this one before. Aint no cure for love is familiar, I really like these songs. Leonard was great.
Very familiar with Jane's Addiction but somehow never gave this album a listen. I like it a lot.
I like this a lot.
Not bad! I've always avoided JP since I'm not the biggest fan of their hits like Breaking the Law, but this album was pretty killer.
I know this one. I like it a lot.
My father loved U2 so I am familiar with most of their work. I believe I have this one on vinyl have have probably listened to it once. I am looking forward to this. I didn't mind it, but not in love with it.
I've heard Sleater-Kinney before but never really listened. I have 1 song in my random likes. I did not know this was Carrie Brownstein's band. I dig it, but after a bit the vocals get a tad annoying.
I can dig it. Some parts are a little too jazz noodling for me but I absolutely loved In a Silent Way. Cool guy.
It's Elvis. Not in love with it but I don't dislike it. heymaammaaaohhmammmaa
This is the Pixies album I have listened to the most, absolutely love it.
It was pretty good I suppose. I listened to it yesterday and nothing really stood out to me besides all the jesus stuff, but the music was not bad, didn't hate it.
Lovely voice. Lovely songs. Some are a little too slow and drawn out for me to listen to again, but I get it.
Hey this was pretty sweet!
Always dug CCR. This was a nice listen.
Love this album. Have it on Vinyl. Some weird parts but I like them.
Well aware of Cypress Hill, I had some songs on my burned CDs in grade school, but never listened to a full album. I'm not really into rap or hip hop but I dig this. These guys like weed and dislike cops I think.
This was really awesome! Enjoyed it a lot.
Really really great stuff. I enjoyed it. Shew as right when she ripped the picture of the pope in have on SNL.
meh. Not terrible but I don't find it very interesting.
Amazing voice my goodness. Always loved this album. Gone too soon.
Pretty boring. I was not interested but it did not make me angry.
I'm a huge Zappa fan. 5/5 Love it.
I dig it
Hell yeah what an album.
